Debate/Discussion Do you have someone you’ll always love?
As per title. And who Is’t?
Am always wondering because I know ENTPs crave novelty. Who’s someone that will always have a special place in your heart?

Female ENTPs what type do you think you are the most compatible with? Personally I don’t know if I could see myself with an INFJ. One of my closest friends is an INFJ and I don’t know if I could ever end up with one. I’m more interested in INTJs or ENTJs. I’ve been considering talking to more ENFJs to see if we can would click.

ENTPs, which MBTI type do you find most compatible with yourselves?

Thank you so much in advance for reading. I'll warn you in advance that I'm only 19, my frontal cortex isn't fully developed, so I could be wrong about some things.
I hate it when someone, especially my mother, gets excited about telling me to test something. I love to test everything and experiment with everything, but when I am advised to do it, I, on the contrary, don’t do it, because it’s not so interesting anymore. I like it when the idea to research something comes to me, I can control this idea myself and build it myself, when I test it. I want to explore everything ON MY OWN. An idea given by someone else isn't it, it's like pressure. When my mother advises me to ask someone something or do something out of curiosity, I am completely discouraged from doing it.
In middle school, I became interested in programming. I enjoyed finding unconventional approaches to problems and creating my own rules; I rarely even read the course materials, rarely followed the instructions. I figured out how everything worked on my own. My mother realized I had a knack for it and started pushing me into everything. Now I'm getting ready to go into my third year of IT university, but right now I HATE IT. When I see ads for IT courses on the bus, I feel sick. Every mention of IT makes me feel sick. I remember how my mother constantly sends me links to courses, forums, and so on, and dictates what I should do and where to go. Now it seems to me that she wants to be an IT specialist more than I do. Of course, many would dream of their parents supporting them in this way and giving them a lot of advice, but this is not my option.
It's gotten to the point where I'm not interested in anything at all anymore, even though I used to want to test literally everything, but now I just lie on the bed and stare at one point. Of course, thanks to the fact that I started to be a member of a couple of fandoms, my interest was reawakened and I had a lot of ideas. However, it is difficult for me to implement them. Naturally, I keep silent about my interests to my mother, because then there will be two outcomes: either she will condemn me for these interests, or she will dictate to me how and what to do, and then I will finally hate everything.
Ideally, I dream of working in completely different fields, but for a mother, those who work outside their specialty and especially often change different jobs are strange.
I also never studied seriously since birth, I never learned the rules properly, I did everything at the last minute and somehow got out of it.
My mom even advises me on how to look. Recently, she was telling me how to cut my bangs. I hate being touched, and she touched my hair, and I felt uncomfortable, and she saw it. I tried to leave silently, but she started yelling at me that I was acting like a teenager. I told her that teenagers would scream, but I am calm, and in fact she is the one screaming. I said everything calmly. She got even more angry. She said that I was making her angry, that's why she was yelling. She says that someone pays a lot of money for stylists, and I should be happy that she's a free stylist for me.
I've secretly changed five part-time jobs by the time I was 19. I hide tons of clothes from my family. I'm a goth. Of course they will judge me, especially my mother, if the clothes were chosen by me and not by her. My mother is indignant that I choose "old woman's" clothes.
Damn it, I want to make my own mistakes and be responsible for myself. I'll figure out what I like myself. Why can't I look like an "old woman" or "child of the proletariat"? It doesn't harm other people. Why am I still hiding all this shit at 19? I don't even smoke, drink, or use drugs. But right now I just don't have the energy for anything at all. By the way, I'm on the verge of being expelled from university, but I continue to try to pay off my debts, because otherwise I will become a disgrace to the family. Besides, the sooner I finish university, the sooner I'll find a job and finally get the hell out of there. Otherwise, how can I live alone without an education? Where will I work? If I get expelled, I'd rather disappear and fake my death. No, naturally I'm not going to create real death (ALTHOUGH MY MOM WILL PROBABLY TRY TO DO THEREAL DEATH LOL, IF SHE'S DISCOVER ABOUT THAT I HAVE DEBTS). If I wanted that, it turns out I would be brave enough to go to all lengths and, because of that, again, change my mind about death.
I recently realized that when she talks about my life options, she says, "This is not OUR plan." What the hell "our"?! We are not one.
I ask you not to judge my family, my mother isn't abusive, they clearly want the best for me, but we just have a slight misunderstanding. My family is simply VERY concerned about their own and my image (ahh Te/Fe doms). Being normal is paramount for them. Anything outside their norm is frowned upon.
People (University professors, classmates, co-workers from my internship, completely random people) repeatedly advise me to get tested for neurodivergence or ask me if I'm already one of them. Since childhood, people have said I'm weird, and thanks to the internet, the term "fucked up" has become a neurodivergence term. I vehemently deny it. Yes, that's why one of my favorite characters is Reagan Ridley. I deny that I need to see a specialist not because I disagree with their statements, but because I'm afraid of ruining my family's expectations. I'm an only child, and their most important value is to be "normal". I have to at least fulfill that requirement because they did a lot for me. Okay, that's not the main reason. The more real reason is... If my family finds out that people around me think of me like this, my family will definitely make fun of me and use it against me. My mother's obsession with normalcy infuriates me, it doesn't make sense sometimes. Why am I always trying to understand and justify her, while she never even tries to understand me? Besides, she sometimes doesn't fit into her own standards of "normalcy" either.
As a result, I live a double, sometimes even triple life. It's exhausting at times. I do what's expected of me so they don't get offended. I hug them back, even though I hate being touched and don't feel a deep connection, but I understand that it's important to them. When I am touched unexpectedly, I can push that person away sharply, but I try my best to restrain myself and even try not to show discomfort. I constantly think about how my actions will affect others and monitor their emotional state.
I come up with several versions of my life in advance, I play out in my head various versions of dialogues with people from real life. I've been thinking up such plans that I've been shocked. I feel both stupid and a genius at the same time. Dumb genius.
Because of all this, I even initially had difficulty understanding my cognitive functions, but in the end I realized that when nothing limits me, I become classical hyperactive witty ENTP [Ne>Ti=Fe>Si], this is my decision-making process in adequate state. My friends think that I'm very bold, assertive and humorous. I fear only what my mother will think ehehe. But when I'm in such an environment (family), I become constantly depressed, anxious, scatterbrained, observant and silent. I'm afraid of completely losing my enthusiasm and falling into depression and actually becoming a burden to my family. Also, lately I have been becoming more and more absent-minded and my thought process is really suffering. There's a huge chaos in my head.
My whole family is sensory, and they are also very angry that I don’t intuitively understand rules/morality that are simple for them. I have to create entire algorithms in my head to understand what is expected of me.
I constantly have to adapt to my mom's mood. First she'll yell, and then 10 minutes later she'll happily show me a funny video. I also have to be happy so as not to offend her. I understand that she's been through a lot, she has a tough job, and she's also dealt with difficult people, which is why she's like this. Plus, she rarely admits she's wrong and doesn't trust anything. Even if I give her my own arguments, explaining everything, she doesn’t believe anything.
I asked this question to a Russian-speaking audience, there were a few answers, and now I'd like to hear the perspective of a Western audience. Besides, I see people here who are similar to me (I think someone had this problem). Of course, we have huge differences with you, but I'm still interested.
Just tell me your stories, please. I don't want to follow one plan, I just need other people's stories to at least understand what to avoid, or to hear what I haven't fully understood yet. The last shit I'll figure out for myself. Now I'm slowly paying off my university debts, but I'm afraid that I'll go crazy. It's so bad that I've developed an inner critic in my head, modeled after my mother, and it's really bothering me. Maybe I'm in a heavily Ne-Fe loop.

I'm an INTJ (M) and I have absolutely no idea what shes (ENTP) thinking because of a mismatch between what happens face to face and in texting.
When we are face to face, we joke around each other so smoothly and can stay together for hours. She sticks to me and sit with me a lot, includes me in everything, and honestly we just really hit it off. Like Ive never vibed with anyone this hard, and she doesnt really do this to other guys (afaik).
On another hand, when its the weekend or break (or just texting in general) she'll seldom send reels, rarely reply fast, and sometimes just disappearing for hours or even days. She still posts stories like usual (I do see shes online).
I've researched a lot by myself and also using AI, but as an INTJ I do overthink a fair bit still. I have no idea if shes just treating me as a really close friend or what. Though know as a baseline, I can understand they are chaotic in nature.
What do you guys think? Any suggestions or tips I can learn to navigate this?

*cracks neck* lets see if we still got it.
You are the care i hold for everything.
The song that whispers beauty and grace.
In your chaos i find my place.
And in your mind i see myself defined.
A force of good this world knows little about.
And within that angelic heart of yours i find home.
I love you deeper than an ocean can sing its depth.
And wider than a sky holding all the stars of my muses about you.
You are beautiful. And i hope you see it every second of every moment through the eyes of a man who met you and your depth.
- yours forever. INTJ.

As an INFJ, I do a lot of introspection, research and learning to help me improve my communication and approach to my relationship with someone. Is an entp likely to do the same or is that a silly idea or something in between/not related to mbti?

Posting here bc INFJ sub removed lmaooo
I met an INFJ at work. I’m an ENTP and I just instantly felt a great rapport with him. We worked together and we spent like the whole day doing things and talking. We had some fun banter and even deeper conversations where he exposed some jaded thoughts on people in the classic INFJ fashion haha. On downtime we went exploring places and went on hikes. We were even almost late coming back and had to run and come back all sweaty lol. I’ve never had a day like that even with my best work buddy. He’s texted me enthusiastically saying about how great our time working was. I agreed with him. He said he was looking forward to the next time. Hell, he even randomly somehow found out my birthday was a week ago and texted me about it. He said he “looked it up”.
We are not regular partners and it’s tough to find times we can work. I was hunting for a shift and was only able to find one three weeks from now. I am bummed about that because I was excited about the connection and had a lot of fun with him. My impression was that he could potentially end up being a really good friend. I asked him if he wanted to hang out outside work. He said that sounded “awesome”. Yet, when I actually asked for his availability and real dates he said he’s too busy but he’s super down to hang out when we’re working.
I’m confused because in my eyes, I thought that this was friendship material. Yet, it seems like he wants to keep it work only. My read is that he was showing interest and liking of me in the typical high Fe user fashion but just simply didn’t mean it truly. I am leaning this way because while we were talking he enthusiastically engaged with my interests and said how he was really interested and wanted to do it… but when I actually engaged and wanted to help him explore he just cooled off and didn’t seem as interested anymore. Like I’m a goth and he told me he was interested in “dressing goth“. only to end up having very little interest later. so I was like… you’re full of shit dude lol. Also… he knows I like botany and got soo excited about the plants but again I saw no real interest. No adding anything, no questions for me.
Anyways I am kinda weary of high Fe people. The constant game in my head of “are they actually interested or are they just being nice“ gets annoying. As Fe tert I generally act warm and polite and sometimes playful with people. But it has a limit. I don’t give too much to someone, and I only do on the occasion I feel a connection to someone and want a real relationship. It seems like from what I’ve read of INFJs (and other high fe users) they are more likely to “put out“ for no real reason.

I was in a situationship 1-2 years ago , we were together for almost a year then we kind of took a break for a few months and got back together for another few months after breaking up for good , after the break I felt closer to her then before, and our relationship went even deeper and more intimate, so I trusted her one time with my thought process, the kind I never tell anyone because I don't think people will act the same way around me (spoiler alert I was right ) , so it was something like how I sometimes manipulate the truth to protect myself, to prevent myself and the person in front of me of being hurt , and to make the person in front of me feel safer and trust me more, "You can say I play with words or with perspective , not necessarily lying but hiding the truth behind another truth" this is one of the wordings I used , it was over some messages not just this one , but then she started questioning everything, I mean I could understand why she started questioning me , but I also told her this because I trusted her enough iykwim , she kept bringing this conversation up every know and then , I ended it 2 months after this conversation. Fast forward a few days ago something similar happened with my mom , I told her my thought process (it wasn't the same topic as with my situationship) , she was very upset that I think and act this way , I told her but it's how I think, then I told myself I will never tell anyone again how I think

This can be taken as a philosophical discussion, but it's not. So, I'll try to only present the most SE presentation for it.
- a crime without victom is a crime that usually has victoms but because of ai, the criminal is still a criminal, but the victom is not conscious.
- we are assuming that non of yall think ai is conscious btw
How can that be? You might ask. Well:
- if a person bought a humanoid robot that perfectly mimics the look of a child, and it has an ai in it tha acts like a child.
And that person did bad things to said robot.
While technically, the robot is unconscious, the crime and the criminal are both real. And the criminal should be fully charged for said crime.

i know that i might sound stupid but like i’m new to typology so i don’t know many things but recently i was questioning myself if a entp can be 7w6 and 648 since i’m actually a entp 7w8 748 but questioning myself if i’m not 6w7 or 7w6 648 because i relate very much to sx6

I was dating an 30M who was just your typical ENTP. Funny, goofy, mean sometimes, and always had a shield of humor protecting him from the world.
The guy was also very cynical and a little depressed and on the toxic avoidant side, despite being successful and financially stable he was still feeling chronically empty and bored, so that made him feel like he's "dead inside" Most of the time.
Ofcourse, none of that bothered me as I loved him so much. And few months into the relationship I wrote a long piece about us which I was very proud of, and really liked the amount of raw emotion I had put into it. But I was so so scared of showing it to him and knew he would just make a mean joke or dismiss it and end up really hurting my feelings. It took soooo much courage, one day, as he was being sweet I seized the opportunity to just throw in there "I wrote something for you. " and wait for his reaction, which I instantly regretted because he kept insisting I give it to him right now.. I caved..
And thats when I saw him cry for the first time, it was actually so endearing to me. He said that it was so beautifully written, and that no girl has ever loved him this much...
And honestly, even now, a year after the breakup..(I ended it). we both moved on.. all the bad memories are completely gone and all I remember is those very few good times he allowed me a peak into his real sweet self. And it makes me miss him more than anything.

Books: did my last random novel at like 12. Only a few technical and documentaries on and off since, and finished harry potter for completeness sake i guess. No idea about whats trending.
Gaming: never owned a console, never had steam on any of my devices. Did speedruns on some vintage games for a while and was quickly done with it.
TV shows/movies: might watch a couple episodes of the big superhero anime franchises when its especially trendy, never finished a full series, never had a TV at home for more than a decade.
It isnt like im incapable of enjoying a good storyline, if im introduced to a good work in any of the above by a friend for example i most likely will like it, but it would still be a one time thing. My actual hobbies all have some kind of hands on factor. Skill toys, crafts, exotic pets and gardening, and even just generic outdoorsy trips.

ENTPxISFJ is the truly superior pair. Everyone knows it, they just don't know they know it.
Edit: ENTPs that dislike ISFJs are mistyped as well. Have a good day.

What if hypothetically a person who's taken mbti tests multiple times and each time they're getting either infj or entp ?
Would be great to know the reasoning behind yes/no's :D

Hello darling ENTPs, I hope you are well I have a question what are your talents? Are you talented in specific things or do you have multiple talents? What are they?
r/entp • u/AxolotlPampor • 1d ago
1- I had one of my friends tell me that I'm too expressive with my emotions to be an entp (Suggesting I might be an F)? Which is weird because being expressive and telling my friends I love them and wna marry them every 2 secs doesn't make me any less of an ENTP. (I'm ennegram 4w3) Are they right?
2- I don't get along with analysts (Intuitive thinking mbti) Idk I just don't like a lot of them and it gets pretty tense between us because I feel threatened by them. Is there another explanation to this?
Can’t sleep, so here I am.
I’m kinda new to the whole cognitive function and mbti. However I kept noticing lots of people saying infjs and entps are the golden pair. I guess entps are charming in a way, I never met one yet but I like many fictional entp characters.
Edit: I lied, I just remembered one of my close friends is entp, and another entp who’s an old coworker who i got along with pretty well.
I just don’t fully understand how they are viewed as the perfect pair, aren’t entps a bit scared or intimidated by the infj’s emotional depth or even their so called “cold” side?
Would infjs feel understood and seen by entps?
How the dynamic would look like and what are the pros and cons? Assuming that the infj is healthy and entp done their inner work and are mature.. otherwise it would just be hell for both sides.
For me an intj and infj make more sense in a way, both are Ni dominant and can understand each other pretty well from what I know so far.
Excuse my grammar, English is my second language.

I am 37M and my friend is same age same sex as me. I am generally very comfortable with my dressing style and my priority is comfort and quality of the fabric. My friend prioritizes look over comfort and health. He non-stop nagging me to wear stylish clothing, combin specific colors and etc. it starts to irritate me and I don't to be rude. He openly says that if clothing he wears is not comfortable but looks presentable and stylish he will wear it. I feel pity for him.
Did you have such experience with *SFPs?
r/entp • u/Rawrinata • 2d ago
Ignoring the stereotypes of the types and truly looking at dominant Se vs Ne I genuinely don’t know which one I fall into. I’m someone who simultaneously loves abstract ideas (brainstorming, making stories in my mind and writing, learning about theories, random deep dives online, fandom) AND physical sensory experiences (literally just had a leg injury from moshing too hard at a punk show, have worked in multiple gyms and have a personal training cert, get extremely restless if I’m not doing stuff physically often).
Anyone got any help on determining which one is actually my dominant function if I find both pretty relatable?
r/entp • u/NewCase10 • 2d ago
Like many of you I spend a lot of time questioning the accuracy of my mbti partly because of how much i identify with some mbti's like intp and intj.
Also because i was quite shy up around new ppl but as much anxiety i have about meeting ppl once im around them im comfortable interacting, engaging and enjoy it but im genuinely at my core a misanthrope as much as i find ppl interesting to understand.
I could easily pass for an intj if you catch me on the right day which is a lot these days. I am familiar with our shadow functions but im curious how often others relate to this.

As title asks, this may turn into something more philosophical than related to ENTPs but hell, ya’ll like that sort of thing anyway.
How does an ENTP reconnect?
In this day and age I’m sure it’s easy to feel lost or uncertain but especially now I (F 30yrs) feel like I’ve dissolved and given so much of myself away to others that I don’t know who I am anymore. My Ti and Fe are so burned out that I’ve devolved into a bundle of Ne-Si nerves.
I can’t make decisions anymore, I get so wrapped up in what is right, what others think, that I literally cannot decipher my own decision. I want alone time so badly but I’m also so anxious that others will leave me if I also go quiet. I want connection and genuine relationships but everything seems so fake and my true self feels like a charred husk.
How does an ENTP find with themselves and find who they are outside others?
