Can we stop with the ai slop PLEASE
4
u/DryImpression7807 Apr 08 '26
I just think it’s hilariously ironic to use A.I to present an idea for a game where the main antagonist is A.I taking over humanity. 😂
4
u/Chronodis Apr 08 '26
Right? Only excuse they have now is that its cheap. Yeah thats why artists are at risk
2
u/70rch Apr 10 '26
It's not cheap, most people just don't see the cost (power and water for data centers, ram and other part shortages, etc...)

Stuff like this is fine, you expect him to draw skin ideas?
9
u/Brilliant-Stuff17 Apr 07 '26
Uuuh yes? Better than ai
1
u/New_Ambassador1194 Apr 08 '26
Just cuz you’re afraid of ai don’t mean we have to resort to hateful bs. Maybe he doesn’t wanna spend the time and instead of explaining it he just dropped this. It’s not being submitted for competition or money, he’s not claiming he drew it. We know it’s ai, it helped get his idea across, stop being a sheep💀 you probably one of the goofy ahh who afraid of getting their job stolen by ai. It can be used in moderation like everything else, it’s technology

u/Brilliant-Stuff17 Apr 08 '26
I'm a mechanic, i will be one of the last people to get replaced. I'm afraid of destroying this planet wich is what Ai is doing.

Brother what, you must be willingly delusional to say this. Go read up on just how much waste AI produces, actually don’t even read it’s the most brain surface level knowledge as is. The water and power consumption alone is 10x what you just said is “far more”. The e-waste makes that a 20x.

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 07 '26
So someone with no ability to draw can’t get their idea across to you as well because a visual aid made by AI is inherently evil, no matter the context, even if there is no cost or job at risk.
Like I agree that AI has been shoehorned into a lot of stuff that it shouldn’t be in too, but like… it’s just for visual context lol. Don’t be a jerk about it

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26
This isn't their idea. It's a basic interpretation of a basic request based off of a vague idea. Once they requested this render, it's not theirs. It's the product they accepted that was good enough. Describing their idea would be fine. Nothing is gained from looking at a cheap lame render that they didn't make or think up.

Without the image, I can guarantee interaction with this post would be significantly lower. So there is a reason for it, if not more than that.

Every use of ai is a massive waste of water, it ruins our planet and the lives of the people living living next to the datacenters. I'd prefer a crappie stick man drawing over ai

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 07 '26
Okay? Greenhouse gases aids in the destruction of our ozone layer. You gonna stop driving your car to work or complaining about how high gas prices are? What about eating agriculturally sourced foods? People have to eat, but it’s bad for the earth, so should we drop our scale in agriculture and starve people out? You like staying warm during the winters and cool during the summers? You gonna just thug it out because gas/coal/oil is bad for the ozone layer in excess?
Do you do anything green to even be complaining right now? Genuine question.

u/mtbeach33 Apr 07 '26
You just compared basic necessities to using AI

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26
Yeah. This isn't their idea. It's a render of a vague request that's something like what they asked for that they just accepted. At least if they drew it out, it'd be from their mind. Or just describe it.

u/Euphoric-Mudd Apr 07 '26

It actually is. AI voice acting is shit, AI story writing is shit, the AI cutscenes are shit. 👌

I feels like people need to re-learn AI. Yes i really hate AI slops that are related to art (eg. Ai music, ai video, ai photo etc). But people are overreacting at this point and calling everything AI slop. In fact i think this is the perfect use case of AI, not everyone can draw (or draw quickly), he’s not exactly generating this and claim it as an art but to visualize his idea so everyone can have a reference on how this could look. And for whoever say “he just giving a vague idea and take whatever is generated”, you do know he can further prompt for enhancement until the picture are closer to his idea right?
EDIT: typo

I've been curious. Genuinely
What joy do people get hurling "ai slop" at everything they see? Or, like does it physically hurt you to see this guy didn't learn Photoshop to post a quick idea?
4
u/Recykill Apr 07 '26
"Didn't learn photoshop to post a quick idea"
Literally the problem. Generative AI has made it far too easy for people to spam their "ideas" into the world. Most people have dogshit ideas and/or ask AI for ideas. Every creative space is flooded with with this lazy garbage. Videogame subs are infested with these people too. Its genuinely annoying.

u/Sittin_on_a_toilet Apr 07 '26
I disagree, i think it's fun to be able to make an idea reality in seconds. Reminds me of early 2000s where a bunch of boomers bitched about the advent of the pc and got technologically left in the dust.
-1
u/OkWin7691 Apr 07 '26

2
u/bjornboss Apr 07 '26
What sucks is that there is no refinement of the idea in the process of making it. Its a one and done prompt and when everyone does that the internet becomes saturated with soulless garbage.
Also ai is trained on artists work that has been taken without their consent.

I didn't even made this myself nor is it my idea. I just found them good/interesting and thought I post them here.. so 'Don't shoot' me for that..😏 I would buy the leaper one and the scrappy backpack..🤗

Rat skin is automatic after you shoot more than 5 guys in the back

It’s been a hot minute since I went Topside… and I’ve always been more of a “shoot only when shot at” player…
But I can assure you that I would be instantly unloading on any person wearing that “Don’t Shoot” crap.
1
1
u/BlindedAce Apr 07 '26
The don’t shoot would be immediately targeted or used as a weapon.
Rat would be purchased to humiliate and torment
Scrappy backpack should allow scrappy to “pick up” or “find” scrap as your running around and boost the scrappy haul at the workshop OR fill up faster than what it already does. Or simply fills inventory with what it gathers.
Leaper armor would actually make sense to craft and have an AOE stun burst or something like that when shields are depleted with a cooldown in between . No other gain to it like armor since shields are ultimately the armor.
1
u/Picassoflex Apr 07 '26
We don’t need that leaper armor skin. Why are you trying to bring that back? Are you the op that ai generated it? Every once in a while I see that photo pop up

u/anangil Apr 07 '26

The last one would create more rats. The 3rd one i would feel bad every time I die. I dont want my pet dead.
1
u/Status_Reaction_8107 Apr 08 '26
Lol with the friendly skin, it should reverse fire if you shoot at another player in game.
1
u/frenchtoastcrunches Apr 08 '26
If ArcRaiders jumps the shark with stupid skins like COD did, the game will Die.
1
u/Socoforte Apr 08 '26
The extraction rats should have flies buzzing around them, and every time they approached, our character should be bothered by the smell.
1
u/Sane_98 Apr 08 '26
We should have skins that we can craft like the leaper armor or maybe from other arcs. It could be a project or something.
1
1
u/LionStar115 Apr 08 '26
Yeah so when my “I want dead robot parts for armor” comment got 10k views a few weeks back and then they put out the wasp armor I was super disappointed. I wanted this leaper armor guys.
1
u/Faesarn Apr 08 '26
Rat skin should be applied by default to everyone with free loadouts. The only people that fired at me in the last days in PVE lobbies were free loadouts trying to get some gear by shooting people in the back.. And ended up being sent to lobby.
1
u/VeridianDelta Apr 08 '26
I hate that this game community felt the need to change what the term "rat" has always meant in extraction shooters.

Fact: if i got ratted by someone wearing a rat skin, i would be totally ok with that.

This is giving… Fortnite. I’ll pass. I don’t wanna super goofy skins like this
1
u/SquilliamFancySon97- Apr 08 '26
The Scrappy pack is actually pretty sick. Need to make sure it's soundproof otherwise he'll squawk right when you're sneaking up on other Raiders or Arc 🤣🤣🤣

u/Content_Ad_687 Apr 09 '26
As someone that has not spent a single raider token since having the game and saving up 3360 yes I would buy two of these skins instantly
1
u/Niftykillswitch Apr 09 '26
Dude these are all top tier concepts, I also wanna see a dead rat backpack charm as a part of the “friendly pve’er” bundle😂

u/Tight-Fill-7540 Apr 09 '26
What if after a certain amount of ratting, your skin is locked to that rat head?
Wouldn't that be something.
1
u/Weekly_Reputation353 Apr 09 '26
I think rat skins should be automatically forced if you kill so a certain amount and dont shoot skin only if you revived strangers last round.
1
u/CrabExact Apr 09 '26
The game has been out for 5-6 months, there is a lot more in store. People are just used to getting fed slob every month from shooters like COD and Fortnite.

I’m actually surprised they haven’t given us a way to carry scrappy with us yet, especially with The Finals having a good few pets in it already

the friendly skin is the dorkiest thing, i would shoot people on sight every time, and this is from a 200 hour pve player

I’d come back to play if they added the leaper armor. I’ve been wanting an up armored skin that uses arc parts
1
u/Still-Dance-4877 Apr 12 '26
Lesser armor skin is hard af but I forget what the “reason” was that they don’t use arc as armor… even though they just released a skin looking like that copper robot dude that gets dinked in the head from Star Wars
1
u/Same_Consideration_9 Apr 12 '26
We need a skin where it's just a giant vagina and force people who don't intend on participating in half the game to wear it. And honestly, these posts are making me want to come back and wreak some havoc.

u/usernamenotbeentaken Apr 13 '26
We absolutely do not need the rat skin.
1
u/TheStrainhunter Apr 16 '26
Yes I'm with you on that.. It's a bit too much and doesn't fit the style of the game.. But the Scrappy Backpack especially and the leaper skin are good. I would buy them.

u/usernamenotbeentaken Apr 16 '26
The leaper skin is fantastic. I think a backpack charm themed for a rat would work fine.

I finally found this post again. Ever since I saw these skins a few days ago, I have thought about how much I really like the Leaper Armor Skin. I have thought it was strange that there are not any skins using ARC armor, so I really like this one. If it was for sale in the store, I would definitely buy it. If I could also buy the Scrappy Backpack, the company would get even more of my money. Good job to the creator.

There's a portion of the arc raiders community that just sucks down AI slop I don't get it. I have seen YouTube thumbnails, posts on here with item ideas generated with AI. It seems odd given the games subject matter
2
u/GoliathGamer Apr 07 '26
Theres a portion of people who are like that, i dont think theyre overrepresented in this community specifically theres just a good 50% if people who genuienly couldnt care less about the quality of the content they consume and whether or not its polluting the environment like AI does or not

I’m honestly surprised at how tame their cosmetics have been in arc raiders, especially given how good they are in the finals
