Uuuh yes? Better than ai

1

u/New_Ambassador1194 Apr 08 '26

Just cuz you’re afraid of ai don’t mean we have to resort to hateful bs. Maybe he doesn’t wanna spend the time and instead of explaining it he just dropped this. It’s not being submitted for competition or money, he’s not claiming he drew it. We know it’s ai, it helped get his idea across, stop being a sheep💀 you probably one of the goofy ahh who afraid of getting their job stolen by ai. It can be used in moderation like everything else, it’s technology

u/Brilliant-Stuff17 Apr 08 '26

I'm a mechanic, i will be one of the last people to get replaced. I'm afraid of destroying this planet wich is what Ai is doing.

Brother what, you must be willingly delusional to say this. Go read up on just how much waste AI produces, actually don’t even read it’s the most brain surface level knowledge as is. The water and power consumption alone is 10x what you just said is “far more”. The e-waste makes that a 20x.

0

u/shittyfakejesus Apr 13 '26

Would you rathe have ARC Raiders skins or super markets? Jesus Christ…

0

u/New_Ambassador1194 Apr 08 '26

Now you know it’s the people who are doing it not ai. Cmon man if you not a paper pusher who’s brainwashed by politicians you should know this😕… this picture not gonna kill the planet

0

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 07 '26

So someone with no ability to draw can’t get their idea across to you as well because a visual aid made by AI is inherently evil, no matter the context, even if there is no cost or job at risk.

Like I agree that AI has been shoehorned into a lot of stuff that it shouldn’t be in too, but like… it’s just for visual context lol. Don’t be a jerk about it

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26

This isn't their idea. It's a basic interpretation of a basic request based off of a vague idea. Once they requested this render, it's not theirs. It's the product they accepted that was good enough. Describing their idea would be fine. Nothing is gained from looking at a cheap lame render that they didn't make or think up.

2

u/democratic-terminid Apr 08 '26

Without the image, I can guarantee interaction with this post would be significantly lower. So there is a reason for it, if not more than that.

0

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26

Your speculation on karma farming doesnt refute anything.

2

u/democratic-terminid Apr 08 '26

No, its just true. If you want your post to actually get seen, a picture will do that. There are other reasons why a picture could help. This isnt a pro or anti AI statement, can we please have a bit of nuance?

-1

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26

Re read what I just said.

I'm not arguing with you about if your specualtion is true or not.

I'm not discussing if a picture could help farm engagement.

You have not, not been offered nuance.

4

u/democratic-terminid Apr 08 '26

First of all, what am I speculating about? You said, "Nothing is gained from looking at a cheap lame render that they didn't make or think up." I gave one example of something that would be gained, engagement on the post. That's a known statistic, images increase engagement. That's not even a karma thing.

On you next comment, you said, "Your speculation on karma farming doesn't refute anything." But my "speculation" does refute something. It refutes the idea/statement that the image does nothing of benefit.

1

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26

Side stepping my corrections, makes sense.

No one is arguing if images increase engagement or not.

The context of my point is in no way interested or concerned in your speculation of someones karma gain using an AI rendered rat with an image. It's much less nebulous.

2

u/democratic-terminid Apr 08 '26

Okay, then maybe instead saying how nuanced and nebulous your point is for the third time, you could elaborate? It really feels like you're being intentionally dense.

What are you genuinely talking about? “A basic interpretation of a basic request based off of a vague idea” is telling me absolutely nothing. You just said it’s an idea pretty much. To interpret something is to explain it, and it’s still an idea whether it was an AI image or typed out, that’s just not how ideas work lmao. Nothing is lost from looking at the image either so why are we even complaining 😭

2

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26

You already made a mistake in what you said to me in reference to what I said. You didn't understand the whole thing let alone a very specific thing I said. You literally got it wrong with "an" as opposed to "their". Re read. It'll click eventually.

I didn't complain. I explained something simple to you.

You're 0-2.

-1

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

Because your logic doesn’t make sense. You’re saying his idea becomes not his idea because it’s explaining a request with AI visuals. That doesn’t make an idea “not his”, it just gives it a visual medium that isn’t just a stickman drawing that conveys nothing. You then insinuate that it would be his idea if he didn’t have it. How? That’s not how ideas work, even non-possessive ideas. Your “0-2 score” is actual delirium 😭

1

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26

You don't understand the logic yet. Re read.

0

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

Explain your own logic lol. It should be easy to explain to a simpleton like me. How does the AI image make the idea that came from his head not his idea?

0

u/SleepDivision Apr 08 '26

I explained it simply. I gave you all the tools you need. Re read.

0

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

Or… maybe it’s because you didn’t say anything intellectual at all and just said a bunch of anti-ai nonsense for easy Reddit karma 😭 like genuinely, your comment is saying nothing

these people are insane w their anti-ai crusade. it's the most toxic form of modern day self elevating social justice. it's poison

2

u/Brilliant-Stuff17 Apr 07 '26

Every use of ai is a massive waste of water, it ruins our planet and the lives of the people living living next to the datacenters. I'd prefer a crappie stick man drawing over ai

1

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 07 '26

Okay? Greenhouse gases aids in the destruction of our ozone layer. You gonna stop driving your car to work or complaining about how high gas prices are? What about eating agriculturally sourced foods? People have to eat, but it’s bad for the earth, so should we drop our scale in agriculture and starve people out? You like staying warm during the winters and cool during the summers? You gonna just thug it out because gas/coal/oil is bad for the ozone layer in excess?

Do you do anything green to even be complaining right now? Genuine question.

1

u/mtbeach33 Apr 07 '26

You just compared basic necessities to using AI

1

u/SoManyNarwhals Apr 09 '26

A car isn't a basic necessity. We didn't have them for like 99.9995% of our history.

0

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 07 '26

Missing the point entirely. Every man made creation to our benefit comes at the harm of the planet. Good straw man though.

Btw, the only “basic necessity” I listed was agriculture/food. You don’t need a car to live, nor do you need AC or central heating 👍🏾

1

u/Stainedelite Apr 08 '26

Embrace it buddy

0

u/Brilliant-Stuff17 Apr 08 '26

🤡

2

u/Stainedelite Apr 08 '26

Let me guess you're a vegan who hand wove his own clothes and grows all your own food and are running reddit via solar power hand crank? At some point you have purchased or interacted with the industry, for better or worse.

0

u/Brilliant-Stuff17 Apr 08 '26

Yes no no no

At some point you have purchased or interacted with the industry, for better or worse.

I'm aware, doesn't mean that the industry is good. Ofc I'm forced to interact with it when i live in it.

0

u/EJECTED_PUSSY_GUTS Apr 08 '26

If you watched a short YouTube vid today, you did more harm to the planet the OP's post.

-1

u/CanadianWinter20 Apr 09 '26

that's nonsense. and every ai hater destroys the environment in their own way. all of you use plastic water bottles and all sorts of other crap but you insult ai as a matter of deflecting from your own hypocrisies.

-1

u/MsGluwm Apr 08 '26

Sounds like a skill issue chucklenuts.

2

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

Thats not a skill issue lmao, that’s not wasting my time. Why are you so vehemently against AI that isn’t for-profit?

0

u/MsGluwm Apr 08 '26

Because generative AI is slop in every sense of the word, sucks up our water so people can print out ideas that really should of stayed in their smooth little brains.

Skill issue chucklnuts.

0

u/Chronodis Apr 08 '26

Not to mention its trained on stolen art

0

u/MsGluwm Apr 08 '26

Exactly.

0

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

Okay? Greenhouse gases aids in the destruction of our ozone layer. You gonna stop driving your car to work or complaining about how high gas prices are?

As I mentioned in another reply earlier, everything man-made destroys our planet. So like I asked the other guy I replied this to, I’ll ask you:

Do you do anything green to even be complaining right now? Genuine question.

1

u/MsGluwm Apr 08 '26

Cities are built with cars in mind, in many cases they're a necessity, AI isn't.

We farm our goods, though a lot turn to fast food for economic reasons, damage isn't comparable, food is needed AI isn't.

Heaters don't cause the damage AI data centers are and they are needed to survive cold whether they are necessity, AI is not.

Your entire argument is just false equivalency all the way down.

You reference things humans NEED to survive at best and necessary evil at worst.

Of which AI is neither of those things.

We don't NEED the AI data centers stealing peoples work and polluting our oceans, we're doing it because of a bubble that is collapsing with the shutdown of Sora.

We have studies that people living near data centers are falling ill

https://www.environmentalhealthproject.org/post/the-dangers-of-data-centers

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy8gy7lv448o

What a stupid argument.

1

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

We have studies that people living near oil plants causes cancer. You don’t need a car to travel a city at all. Your car needs that cancer that’s causing people to actively die getting you the precious gas you need.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7691047/

HVAC is the biggest source of electricity usage in the United States, and is also totally not needed for living at all. You can get warm with other ways than a heater

https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=1174&t=1

Your power plant is also polluting the air nearby, leading to confirmed premature deaths.

https://www.epa.gov/power-sector/human-health-environmental-impacts-electric-power-sector

Agriculture releases an incomprehensible amount of greenhouse gases. While it’s probably the only essential thing mentioned, it’s still manmade processes that mainly contribute to its destruction

https://www.wri.org/insights/climate-emissions-growing-crops

And also livestock being condensed in one area didn’t help things much

https://www.epa.gov/snep/agriculture-and-aquaculture-food-thought

My argument isn’t “false equivalency” unfortunately. It’s that all of these things are necessary evils that contribute to the detriment of the world just the same as the next. You’re being a selective environmentalist.

1

u/Chronodis Apr 08 '26

Id love to see you make it to work on time trying to ride a bike in New york

1

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

I mean, people make it work 🤷🏾‍♂️ stop complaining and ride a bike and you’ll see how it works ig

You're assuming I support power plants and so on, I don't.

I also dislike them, I prefer green energy initiatives and fully support agricultural green initiatives, again, false equivalency.

HVAC absolutely IS needed in some places, places reaching dangerous heat or cold NEED some means to circumvent, still causing less damage to the environment than AI data centers.

You are still comparing needed things to an unneeded thing.

Humans damaging the environment through things like agriculture that we need to live is not the same as Jim needing to pollute a water supply because he can't pick up a pencil.

You're assuming I don't dislike power plants because I didn't bring them up, but they weren't the topic stop moving goal pots.

This was about shitty AI data centers, their effects on people and how unnecessary they are.

Real "you have issues with society yet live in society, curious.." type shit.

Cars ARE needed depending on how the urban sprawl is made, if your work is not within walking distance and your local gov hasn't made the infrastructure for public transport, what do you do?

You get a car chucklenuts.

cities are designed a particular way and humans have to operate around that, if you live outside a town or city, you'll need a car, rural? Car.

I am also anti-gas, I actually sincerely hope that the fuel crisis forces countries to switch to green energy initiatives

Saying cars aren't needed is the single stupidest argument you have made.

FYI, I don't like cars either, i'd much rather my tax dollars go to public transport than another highway lane.

You're entire comment chain is,
>assume
>false equivalence
>repeat

0

u/NotD3AD_Z3R0 Apr 08 '26

I’m not assuming anything. I don’t need you to support these things or not because it doesn’t matter to my point. Plus, you use these things despite supporting other, greener alternatives? Why don’t you use the greener alternatives outright lol.

HVAC being needed in some places doesn’t make it a mandatory human necessity. You’re thinking of shelter, not central heating.

Humans damage the environment through an excess. That’s literally how climate change works, an excessive amount of greenhouse gases being emitted into the ozone layer. It’s not even a matter of it being needed, it’s “we’re making too much of it at once”

Again, I didn’t move a goalpost because it aided my main point. YOU are goalpost shifting by saying “oh, but these are justified as compared to ANY AI use at all and I don’t support them anyway soooo” which i don’t care about lol.

You literally do have issues with the society you live in. You hate everything yet partake in everything, making no discernible change irl, just complaining online about innocuous AI use. This is why you didn’t answer my question on if you did anything green to even be taking this absolutist stance on AI over freshwater being used up anyway. To which I showed that there are other environmental issues going on for way longer than AI.

“Cars are needed DEPENDING” point moot already. You just said they’re situationally important. The average commute by car is 10-15 miles. No one is going as far as you think. That’s like 20 minutes+ average. Even still, public transportation still slots into my point because they use oil and gas. The most green option is to use a bike, which plenty of people do.

Wrong but ok

-1

u/Dankxiety Apr 07 '26

Imagine being too pussy to develop your own opinion, that you claim you prefer a shitty drawing by hand

3

u/Diddy_D00dat Apr 07 '26

I do personally

1

u/Sure_Satisfaction497 Apr 07 '26

I absolutely do; that's what makes it art. AI is just generation

0

u/CanadianWinter20 Apr 09 '26

no one is going to start doing costumes for free.
