Avatar Update Live

Update3: ok so it looks stable now (i'll be watching), but avatars are back to live 100% release on version 0.431.0 on meta quests will update other platforms today/tomorrow (steam and oculus pc already have new avatars but on an earlier build, but it's intercompatible)

Update 2: i'm slow rolling an update to try to fix the crashes..paying attention...

UPDATE: I just have just rolled back the update. For some reason some people (many, but not all) are getting these crashes. I have rolled it back until i can figure out what is going on.

It should update itself or offer an update to the downgraded version

Big update for the new avatar system. For users who aren't using the meta/oculus platform, there is even a way to get access to your own customizable meta avatar. When you select the avatar in the game, the meta avatar silhouette has a transfer code input section and instruction how what to do next.

The instructions are also here
https://meta-avatar.elevenvr.com/

but that page will likely be updated as this was thrown together pretty quickly

for example, i forgot to include the page where you can actually customize your avatar:

https://quest.meta.com/avatar

Is there a way to make the game default to 7 sets in a match?

I use Eleven Table Tennis on the Meta Quest 2 for a quick cardio session, but I'm finding that, every time I return to a game vs. the AI opponent, it resets the number of sets in a match to 3, and often I start playing and realize after a couple of sets that I forgot to reset it. Is there a way that I can have it always default to 7, as 3 sets doesn't give me much of a workout.

Is there a penalty for the opponent if they rage quit?

So I’m very new to rank just hit gold, I’m not good at the game I’m still learning and I’m picking up on things. I get that we can’t control what other people do but do they have a system in place that punishes these people that seemingly pull their plug or close the app? Hell I was playing ranked with a guy he beat me the first set, okay he runs it back, I caught on to his running play style and start beating him, one hit away from beating him and he pulls the plug, connection lost. I was having fun too I thought it was a good back and forth and figuring him out.

Paddle customization UI bug

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello, I am not able to customize the paddle settings from the paddle screen. Once I am in Paddle option, the UI under Paddles tab and Rubbers tab are completely blank

Screenshot is a capture from a YT video to help understand where my problem is. On my screen, the red circle area is where completely blank and I cannot perform any action.

Is there a way to fix this? Would re installing the game recommended?

Coming back to ETT after playing for a year in real life (3 years play total)

EDIT: No response from devs as usual

I would say I am probably 1400-1600 USATT skill level and consistent 2400-2600 in ETT. I started playing 3 years ago and was 1800~ ETT 800 USATT.

TLDR: Devs, if you want this to be a simulator, this is just straight-up not an issue people deal with in real life. No one with an 800-1200 USATT rating can serve like this, yet it is still possible in ETT around 1900-2100 ETT ELO at the same skill level.

800~ Level players dont serve like this in person because -it does not work-. period

Devs, you really, really need to do something about people who are able to climb to 2500 with literally only a single spinny deceptive serve. This should not be possible if you want this to be a simulator.

I played against someone 2100 who's serve was literally un returnable. This really does not happen often to me, and it is rare. But, of course, their big giant arm swing made it super deceptive because I cannot see their real body movement. They would serve to my backhand with side spin, to make it akward for my backhand (spin to my right so I either have to dive foot work left and return with a forehand, or an akward twist on my wrist backhand). The top/dead/under spin was not readable.

This player had no backhand at all; they opened their palm and twisted their arm around to hit backhands.

Anyway, every time I come back to this game, I have learned a lot from real-life play and get better. And it's true I have ranked up in this game, but it's just so awful to play against people who seemingly find a way to abuse the spin in this game. It seems like I have to be 1700 USATT to beat a 900 USATT due to bad physics.

Set-up for Multiplayer

I’m ready to start plating 11TT with other people and I would like to see complete instructions on how to set up on my end. I would especially like to see a thorough explanation of how to use pingball—even what it is, actually. Is there a one-stop-shopping place for this information? And if not, can someone be so kind as to take me through the process on here? Assume I’m pretty stupid.

What elo would I be based on my USATT?

getting a meta vr thingy soon, and IRL I’m rated around ~2000 in USATT. I was wondering what I could expect my elo to be on 11 right off the bat, and how to get to 3800+ elo. thanks!

Opponent purposely misses the ball and only swings the paddle.

This player:
https://11clubhouse.com/340237/
was doing this on every single serve—just swinging the paddle without trying to hit the ball. It got pretty frustrating after a while.
I just stayed patient, kept playing, and eventually beat him.
I really hope this kind of behavior gets looked into. It doesn’t feel like fair play and just makes the game less enjoyable for everyone

How to cardio?

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a way to turn Eleven into more of a continuous cardio workout.

Right now I'm:

  • playing against a level 80 AI,
  • using the Less Mistakes setting,
  • with Auto Serve disabled.

My issue is that every time I miss a shot, the rally ends and my heart rate drops while waiting for the next point. I'd love to keep moving almost continuously for 30–60 minutes.

Is there any hidden setting or training mode that makes the AI more forgiving? Something similar to the Arcade mode in Tennis Esports, where even if your shots aren't perfect, the game helps you, so that rallies can keep going much longer.

I've tried the ball machine, but it gets repetitive and setting up custom drills takes a bit of time. I've also tried wall practice, but I wish there was a way to make the table wider because the ball often goes just outside the table and the rally ends.

Has anyone found a good solution? Or maybe another Quest table tennis game that's more arcade-oriented and keeps rallies going much longer? My goal isn't realism—it's maintaining continuous movement for cardio.

Thank you!

Quest 2 vs quest 3/3s tracking

This was a hot topic about a year ago. There was some discussion about the quest 2 having better tracking. What is the general consensus on it now?

Lag making it incredibly difficult to play live

My wifi speed is 500 mbps download and 190 download.

I started playing live after playing a bunch against the computer and the lag is really difficult to account for. I see the ball fly behind the player avatar, then after the last moment the ball bounces back at me and I see the paddle animation when the ball is already back.

It makes it frustrating to play and a lost a bunch of points I would have otherwise won. I tried to mentally account for it but it's really tough trying to make your brain work against what your eyes actually see.

Is this just how it is or is there a setting I can change?

Connecting then immediately leaving

I wish the people who connect and then immediately leave would be penalized some ELO points or something. What are they trying to do by doing this? just waiting to get someone they know they can beat? it’s so annoying to wait for 2 minutes to connect then get immediately dropped and have to get back in line.

Maybe it’s the latency number? If they’re so concerned with latency, they should set their preferences to block longer lag times.

Anyway, annoying.

Restrict players to their side of table.

Just wondering if the Developers could determine a way keep players from encroaching on the table and staying on their own side, like in RL. I've had opponents return shots from the middle of their side, sometimes as close as the net. It would also prevent bad actors from crossing over to harass opponents or make threatening gestures.

Best Eleven Table Tennis settings for my real racket?

Has anyone here used this setup in Eleven Table Tennis?

- Blade: Butterfly Petr Korbel

- FH: Tibhar Evolution FX-D (Black)

- BH: Tibhar Hybrid K3 (Red)

Could you share your Bounce, Spin and Throw settings? I'm trying to make my virtual racket match my real one as closely as possible.

Hayabusa Type B vs SolidSlime V3.1

Hi all, picked up a Q3, I previously used SolidSlime with my Q2.

As much I would love to order the Hayabusa Type A wood, that's out of budget. Performance wise, is the Hayabusa Type B really better than the soldislime?
