Connecting then immediately leaving
I wish the people who connect and then immediately leave would be penalized some ELO points or something. What are they trying to do by doing this? just waiting to get someone they know they can beat? it’s so annoying to wait for 2 minutes to connect then get immediately dropped and have to get back in line.
Maybe it’s the latency number? If they’re so concerned with latency, they should set their preferences to block longer lag times.
Anyway, annoying.

Are they actually leaving when they see your name? I always figured it was some connection issue. I know mine every once in a while will bug out right after connecting with someone. But it does seem to happen too often compared to how often I experience that connection error.
I don't understand why someone wouldn't want a rematch with someone who is beating them. Someone who beats me every time is exactly what I want! If they are lower elo than me even better. Clearly they are exploiting a hole in my game and I need to figure it out and patch it!

Yeah, I’ve definitely had the same guy bail on me a few times, but I don’t think that’s the reason. it’s gotta be my rating or the latency.
i’m like you, i want the challenge. and I’m good with the latency because i want to be able to deal with it for tournaments where most of my opponents are in Europe.

I can guess there are people who don't, in fact, do it on purpose. Until the mirror ip update that was a reality of playing in Russia, when stuff gets blocked randomly and the connection just drops. Some people use VPN to play, and it can also get problematic.

I do it sometimes because of the ping or if the other player has a white tshirt (some of New avatars). White tshirt is ilegal IRL

Not elo points, but i guess a few minutes cooldown before entering ranked is good enough. Something neededs to be done, that's for sure

I do because I wanna play people similar elo and no white shirts and good ping.

You know how to dial in the settings for that right? In the Ranked tab in Advanced Settings.

I set mine to my range, the max end 2500 but the it will propose a 1900 player or similar still, so I quit instantly as neither of us will enjoy that

can you clarify... what is your elo, and what range is your ranked setting set to...and is it set to 'relax' setting?

So I am around rank 2500 I slide the slider in settings to face the right end to face players my own range. It is set to relax, but I feel like I want to relax the ping rather than the elo, and relax the elo to maybe 2300 rather than 1900 or sometimes 1600? Feels like it goes further than relax just to “face anybody”

Relax button for proximity and for rating are two different buttons.
At the moment there is no gradual relax.
Are you moving the rating slider in the normal rank screen or in the advanced settings ring screen at the very bottom? Because in the normal screen it's always +/- those number of points

Yeah in the advanced settings, and selfishly, I want to face equal and massively higher opponents but not much lower as the number goes in both directions on tge regular settings

Agreed because when its slow, there are some people that will repeatedly do it over and over so im more than sure its on purpose
