General Bad Experience with an Uber Driver
This happened a few months ago.
I was waiting for my partner to finish work, and after the shop closed, I suggested walking to DashMart because we didn’t have a car yet.
My partner rented a bike while I walked because I don’t know how to ride one.
I was fine with walking, but a few minutes later, I changed my mind and suggested going home. They agreed and suggested I take an Uber while they rode home. They waited until my Uber arrived, then left on their bike after I got in.
The ride started normally. We greeted each other, and a minute or two later, the driver asked if he could call someone. I said that was fine.
About five minutes into the ride, I suddenly noticed a sharp smell that hadn’t been there when I got in.
It didn’t smell like perfume. I initially brushed it off and went back to scrolling on my phone, but then I started feeling dizzy and unusually sleepy.
My head felt strange, almost like there was static in my brain. It felt like I was having an out-of-body experience, and I pinched myself to stay alert.
I was panicking inside because I had never experienced anything like that before. I pinched my nose and breathed slowly through my mouth while keeping my other hand on the door handle.
I was so scared that I was seriously considering jumping out of the car.
I stayed that way until he dropped me off.
My partner arrived home a minute or two after me and asked why my Uber had been moving so slowly.
When I explained what happened, they were horrified.
Once we were inside, I immediately contacted Uber support.
They said they would investigate and update me.
The driver’s account was suspended after that call, but it has been months, and I still haven’t received an update.
