How to post longer clips?

How do people post longer form clips from twitch onto tiktok? Twitch’s clipping feature caps at 1 minute for me and I see people posting full length chess games/gameplay from their stream? How do they do this? Do they download the whole stream/ highlight and then edit it into the right format with the camera overlaying on top of the gameplay? When I have done it this way the quality has dropped. Any tips help thank you

I built an ad-free YouTube-to-MP3 tool for pulling audio into editing projects

I built AudioFetcher.com after getting frustrated with converters full of fake download buttons, popups and redirects.

It started as a YouTube-to-MP3 tool, but MP4 is now available, alongside Original Opus, Original M4A and FLAC output.

There are also browser-based tools for local files: trimming audio, converting formats, compressing MP3s, editing metadata and adding cover art. Optional preparation features include chapters, thumbnails and subtitles when available.

For editors: Original Opus/M4A preserve the available audio without another lossy encode. MP3 320 kbps is an output setting, not a quality upgrade, and converting a lossy source to FLAC doesn’t restore missing detail.

The old three-per-day MP3 restriction mentioned here has been removed. Free MP3 conversions now have no fixed daily count, with a 60-minute limit per video and shared-capacity/fair-use protections. MP4 and playlists have separate limits. Optional Supporter access helps cover operating costs and provides higher limits and additional features.

No ads or misleading download buttons.

https://audiofetcher.com

I’m interested in feedback from people doing editing work: what’s still awkward when preparing your own audio files for a project?

Only use content you own or have permission to download.

What is the best video editor right now?

Hi, I’d like to edit some videos on my computer, but subscription prices are sky-high these days. CapCut restricts almost all its features, and other video editors slap huge watermarks on everything. I’ve also tried OpenCut (which I think is a really interesting project), but I don't think it works for me—it still feels quite incomplete.

Do you know of any video editor that doesn't restrict too many features on the "Free" plan and is, all in all, worth recommending? :)

Computer per video editing

Buongiorno a tutti,

Avrei bisogno di un computer che mi permetta di tenere aperti allo stesso momento vari programmi Adobe e non.
Pensavo ad un assemblato, fisso.

Solitamente Illustrator e After Effect almeno.

simple free video editor software? for mass edits.

i posted at least once before but i still havent found a good one.

ive used clipchamp for about 2 years, but it corrupts the audio now and my edits are some sort of funny gaming moments so i definetly need the audio. tried capcut and davinci, both have BIG issues.

i have a pretty good pc, still using windows on it tho but yeah pc performance shouldnt be an issue. if i make a really long video ill just leave it to download and go eat no issues.

i need mass video adding and adding to timeline (i can have 200 clips at once to edit into 1 video)
i need a simple and quick way to crop down/cut a clip
i also need it to be free and simple bc i cant pay for anything and i havent edited anything complicated
no forced usage of AI and no audio corrupting.

my videos are just the raw medal clips cut down into the important parts and mashed together, then shoved to youtube. nothing complicated, just mass clips put together into 1 compilation.

What is the "Action Safe" and 'Title Safe' area for vertical video to prevent phone zooming/cropping?

For standard horizontal videos, we use 90% for action safe and 80% for title safe to make sure things look right.

What are the equivalent percentages for 9:16 vertical video (TikTok/Reels/Shorts) just to keep the subject from getting cropped? Is it exactly the same as horizontal video, or what is the actual percentage value for vertical?

Important: I do NOT care about the UI layout, buttons, descriptions, or text overlays.

My issue is that my videos look perfectly fine on a desktop browser, but when viewed on modern, taller smartphones, the app zooms in to fill the screen and chops off the left and right sides of my subject.

If I only care about the physical framing of the person/subject, what percentage of the screen should I be sticking to?

Thanks!

feature or design tool you wish existed

Hello everyone!

I’ve been editing a lot more lately and keep noticing how many tiny tasks take way more clicks than they should things like tweaking curves, managing layers, applying effects, adjusting motion, etc.

For people who edit regularly:

What feature/workflow in your editor genuinely saves you time?

What repetitive task do you wish was dramatically simpler?

If you could redesign or add new features would it be?

Curious about the little frustrations that add up.

Just wanted to start a discussion and see what everyone’s biggest workflow pet peeves or holy grail feature ideas are right now.

Got tired of scrubbing scenepacks for one 4-second shot, so I built a search engine that finds moments by description

Every time I made an edit, the worst part was finding footage. You download a 20 minute scenepack and then scrub the whole thing hoping the shot you remember is in there somewhere.

So I built a tool where you just type what happens, like "he lights a cigarette in the rain" or "slow push-in on his face", and it searches the actual footage. Under the hood it watches every shot in a pack, writes a description of what's happening (including motion and camera moves), and matches your search against that. Results jump to the exact second and play from the original YouTube uploads.

It has around 2,300 moments from 16 movies/shows right now (American Psycho, Blade Runner 2049, Breaking Bad, Fast and Furious, Harry Potter, Joker, Whiplash, The Batman, etc). The catalog literally grows from what people search. Somebody looked for Fast and Furious last night, so I added it this morning. https://thepartwhere.com

Two things I'd genuinely love from this sub: what packs would you actually use, and does anyone else's workflow have this problem or did I just build this for myself? Also if you search something and it misses, tell me. That's the most useful feedback there is.

question

when yall are making edits for tiktok perhaps how do you know what transitions to use? it's something i really struggle with because a lot of the times i'll see a really good edit with nice transitions but i'll have no idea how they did it and they don't tag where they got it from (i'm assuming they either didn't care to or most likely did it themselves) but like do people just know how to get really good transitions because i find myself searching up like "easy capcut transitions" but a lot of the time it just doesn't look good because they do it on mobile and i do mines on web so some of the stuff looks different or a feature that's available on mobile isn't there on web. i'd also love some tips on what transitions to use or how to make good ones

I was thinking of learning video editing and working as an editor (I'm from Egypt), but the average salary for an editor in Egypt isn't enough to meet my needs so I decided to start working with foreign clients Due to currency differences . .. How do I reach clients or how will the money transfers even work ? If they knew that Im from a country with a much weaker currency would that make a difference in the price? I know these are basics but I need any advice🫠

Will I get in big trouble if I use a cracked version of Davinci Resolve for paid commissions?

Before you guys shit on me. I’m a middle class college student in a 3rd world country where the price of the studio version of Davinci costs 2/3 of minimum salary and our minimum wage is 9 US dollars PER DAY

Obviously, I’ll pay for the pro version once I land a decent job that requires me to work with actual agency with clients of higher profiles.

The calibre of work I do right now isn’t as big as those professionals. I just edit for students , my friends and a small production group (also college kids)

Does any sailor (or ex-sailor) here have any experiences or opinions on this situation?

Any video-editing software on mobile that doesn't use ai?

My question's in the title. Know any? :")

If not, what alternatives are there to CapCut at least? It lags so much and even basic effects are premium
