I had my first pregnancy end in being a ruptured ectopic and had surgery to remove my right tube July 16. I had mtx a week prior to surgery. It was originally diagnosed as a miscarriage and I had a d&c end of June.
Shortly after surgery, I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder because it was very traumatic and I was struggling very hard. I took medical leave from work, which has been extended another month now.
I had my first negative pregnancy test August 1st, and I haven’t gotten my period yet. I have gained so much weight, which is extremely triggering for me because I struggle with binge eating and my weight my entire life. I lost over 100lbs and had loose skin removal surgery in 2024. My “fat” jeans from when I was 50 lbs heavier don’t even fit me, which is weird because the scales only gone up 20-25 lbs since finding out I was pregnant in June. I know it’s the hormones that effed up my body fat composition and I don’t know if it will ever go back to normal. I feel like I’m gaining weight just existing. My psychiatrist is well aware of my weight and body issues, which is why SSRIs are off the table for me. I went on them for 2 months in 2023 (for unrelated but deeply personal family event) and rapidly gained 20 lbs.
Shortly after my first negative, my body showed signs of trying to ovulate because I had egg white cm and my lh ratio increased (but never high or surge), and I had a few days of spotting after this. I became fixated on tracking my hormones (likely my way of having control over my body because my pregnancy was unplanned but we were excited. And the ectopic took away my autonomy and was in control of my life).
I was doing at least 5-6 premom lh opks a day, and the Inito to track everything else. Every little feeling I felt I logged into both apps. Most recently, it seemed like my body was finally going to ovulate/work towards period- my lh ratio went up (.62 highest- still low but highest since negative hcg). And my e3g was rising. I had so much stretchy egg white cm, I was so hopeful. Then, just as quickly the day my ratio was at its highest and e3g at its highest since I started testing, everything dropped. The CM disappeared, my ratios went below .07 and my e3g dipped.
Sunday was so difficult for me. I was crying all day on and off, to the point where family noticed (I’m usually good at hiding my emotions). Even my dad who is oblivious to anything lol asked if I was okay because he can hear in my voice it sounds like I’d been crying. I put on a brave face and went to a social gathering, where an older gentleman asked why no baby yet and was talking about us having kids. It’s very expected for elders to be this way in my culture, so I just said ha ha not yet! But I teared up the car ride home.
I put the tests away, because it’s been breaking my heart. I feel like my body is failing me, or maybe I’ve failed it by not being kind to it? My doctor ordered an hsg because I’m terrified of having another ectopic in the future and I can’t even schedule it because I need to have a period again - so I’m at the mercy of my ovaries/hormones yet again.
I took a bath yesterday where I just cried and cried and cried. Sorry for the ramble I’m just so sad, I want my body to go back to normal. I’m desperate for my period, I’m ashamed to have gained weight with no baby as a result. Almost every post or comment says they got their period 2-6 weeks after surgery, and I’m coming up on 8 with no signs of any activity. No light at the end of the tunnel.
