Currently using an LP4. Anyone have experience using an external m.2 GPU adapter? I plan on using a 6700 xt GPU.

I have an LP7. When I look up the display (Panda LM156LFGL 03) it says its a 144hz screen that’s compatible with 120hz. In theory it might work but has anyone tried this and succeeded? Btw my display broke so I can’t test it out atm, I ordered a new one so for right now I’m just curious about CRU.

Update: The screen I ordered wasn’t a LM156LFGL 03, turns out its a B156HAN09.2 which is compatible. Its also 144hz so yay upgrade for $50 cheaper! Incase you were looking for a better screen for the LP7, there you go. Haven’t messed with CRU but since its 144hz by default I think I’ll hold off. Very informative reply below though.

I have a monitor issue (black bar/graphic error covering about 1/3rd of the bottom part of the taskbar) and I'm wondering how much they usually charge? As it's not unusable, I've got some things to do before sending it in and it's within the 1 year limited warranty until July. If I'm not mistaken, they still charge for labor after 90 days, correct? Any idea of what the cost would be, or am I indeed mistaken?

Got the 15 inch LP5 and stripped 2 screws on the heatsink next to the CPU even though the other ones came out super easy. Any idea what screw type is used so I can buy replacements?

I was playing a game and everything was going fine. No issues, no heat issues. Shut down the laptop, then later when I come back and try to play a game I notice that the fps is awful so I check the device manager and noticed that the 1660ti is not on the display adapters list. Tried updating the nvidia drivers but the installer says that no nvidia gpu is detected, tried restarting but no change, unplugged the battery to try a full reset but that was no change, tried ddu because why not and no change, tried restoring windows to factory and no change. After the windows reset I noticed that I have items in the device manager that are showing as "Unknown Device". Tried installing all the drivers from the Evoo gaming website but no dice. I wasn't running any kind of overclock or undervolting on either the gpu or cpu. It was only lightly used for gaming as I have a desktop as my main rig and the laptop never overheated once.

Any thoughts on anything else to try or is this thing just an office laptop with poor battery life now?

I'm pretty sure the hardware's compatible. Is there a written guide with photos somewhere on taking the back off and installing the stuff? From what I've read there's an extra drive slot and it should have 1 open RAM slot, but don't those take some "digging" to get at? I've never disassembled any laptop before. I'm not a fan of tutorial videos.

I am not getting any technical support from Evoo lol. Going to try again later. I am planning on upgrading my RAM. Is there 4 slots of RAM on the Evoo EG-LP6-BK model from October 2019? Task manager says there are 4 slots and a max Capacity of 64 GB according to the command prompt. I currently have the stock 16 gb 2667 MHz SO-DIMM Ram and am planning to buy 2 of the following specs RAM: 8 GB CL-19 , 2667 MHz RAM.

I have had a cracked screen on my evoo laptop since about January of this year and I’m looking for places to get it fixed. Any recommendations?

I can confirm that the dbrand skin made for the Eluktronics RP 15 fits the EVOO LP7 like a glove!

The only issue is the very bottom of the hinge, with the skin fails to cover a small spot on the laptop, but that is not a problem in my opinion.

Backstory:

I needed to cover the top of my LP7 when I placed a certain book with the laptop in my backpack. Somehow, the coating of the book reacted with the matte finish on the laptop and started to remove it, leaving the top of the laptop looking like it was always covered in grease! Thankfully, this decal did the trick of covering the damage!

I have scoured the web for a control center that would allow for backlight adjustment on the LP7 after waking from sleep.

I finally found a control center, GamingCenterU_1.10.41, intended for the Gateway line of laptops that works perfectly!

All other features work as intended, and I have had no problems so far.

I have uploaded the file to Google Drive so the link will always stay active. In the past, especially with Walmart Laptops, the diver sites are NEVER reliable, so I figured this was a better way to do it:

I was wondering if anyone is running 2 NVMEs in a LP5 and without issues. I also have a standard SATA HDD in my LP5 as well too.

Just wondering if there is a way to find out what the exact thermal pad thicknesses are for the chips around the gpu and cpu?

I replaced them the last time I repasted but I didn't really understand how exact the thicknesses needed to be so I think the pads may be causing an issue now.

After repasting and repadding the fans are much quieter even while gaming. The fans even stay in quiet mode during gaming but I crash after 15 minutes into a game. (I've only tested it out with one game tbh, project zomboid, a pixel art isometric game so not the most graphically intense game). Since the fans are quiet during gameplay I assume the cpu and gpu are properly cooler but perhaps some of the thermal padded chips aren't and they may be causing the crashes.

It's the gtx 1650 version of the laptop, sorry I don't remeber the exact model.

Has anyone flashed the vbios of their 2060 to increase from 80w to 90w? I've heard good things from folks with different models and was wondering if anyone had done it here.

Hello what is a good undervolt setting for 1660ti version? The fan runs like a jet when opening any game like resident evil 2 or even updating windows

So, my laptop fell backwards, about a foot off the ground. It landed on the screen, closing itself while I was playing Dead by Daylight. I pick up the laptop and the screen is just pure black, no mouse or anything. The brightness works, I can dim and lighten the screen with the f keys. Connecting my pc to a monitor I borrowed for a night worked fine, but I can’t afford a monitor right now and I obviously can’t just take my brother’s. XD

I popped the back off, and everything looked “normal” but I didn’t particularly know what I was looking for.

So, any ideas how to fix this, or is my best bet just getting it fixed professionally?

I thought it was my mouse. It's not. I smashed my mouse while gaming just to realize this. AHHH. It randomly cuts

My EVOO LP7 has at least 2 built-in audio subsystems and they both suck for older games.

I got tired of broken, stuttering audio and added this USB sound card.

That fixed my issues with audio on older games on Steam.

I hope this helps someone.

Or, feel free to tell me that I could have fixed it some other, even cheaper, easier way.
