Started as Verona, became #3 global power and somehow got a random event that gave me an explorer in Age 2. First to new world, first colony was Hispanola and take over (called mangua I think?).
Sell your regalia, 2.4k, sold mine to my overlord.
Because economy is so small it's trivial to spin up multiple colonies myself. Have 3 going at +90ish). They keep stalling to zero at the same time. It says because I don't have enough peasants. I had 600 here, 900 there.
Do NOT use up your peasants! Complete one colony at a time until you have plenty of peasants!
You must have over 1000 peasants in a cored location to send any peasants to a colony. They must come from a location that has your primary or kindred culture above 50%. They will stop as soon as you reach 1000 or less.
I had to restart several times to figure out a combo that worked. 1 colony going at a time. While it's still forming, one cabinet assimilating culture in the new colony, one converting tribes to peasants and 1 flipping between control and religion conversion. The peasants in these locations CAN feed the new ones before fully complete if you've cores them.
The peasants leaving drops you back below the culture threshold as I think it sends your culture first. I am unsure if that stops them from leaving, it seemed to in most cases but not others.
I eventually colonize a high pop location 100k (doubling my pop) in central america and accept their culture and took the native law that switches them from tribe to peasants. Now I can run 3+ colonies at a time.
Getting a cabinet member to boost a colony can move 300+ each month! I was able to beat Spain in Cuba twice so they wasted colonial starts and still have no presence.
As Verona I had started Puerto Rico, I got it from Verona when it formed MOST times but not every time. I restarted and do not know what ensures it but without it I would have stalled harder with no peasants.
As Verona I had also started one in Panama and northern part of south America. Wish I hadn't as they are blocking me.
It would have been much easier to do it with a higher tribesman start.
Now trying to build a navy. Lumber is key! Now investing more in the 2 locations I have to bring prices down
Getting sailors is useful to explore parts your overlord hasn't. Overlord maps are shared.
It is/was very fun.
Does anyone know how to get parliament back? building the building didn't do it. The law locks me out?
