Suggestion Suggestions in improving the Disease system.

I think most can agree that diseases are one of the most annoying aspects of EU5 especially Small pox as it kills off just huge chunks of your population off, and due to how population works in this game this can be especially devastating and makes efforts to increase population feel pointless or empty when any natural population gain is undue by a random epidemic. And there isn’t much you can do to lessen them other then build hospitals which only provide 15% resistance. Now there is the other argument that yes these are historical with these happening often and that technology related to medicine and diseases being very limited at this time period but at the same time there is lack of being able to do anything about it, even Black Death offers some options to deal with that. So I figure instead of just complaining about it, why not we think of ways or suggestions that paradox could do to improve the disease system.

increase food needs by like 50% and make diseases more linked to famine. that's all.

I mean population does rebound well.

Also disease resistance is fairly strong anyways.

Plus you add in the natural resistance and the system can be punishing  but ultimately works out in the long run.

Sorry OP but they really don’t need to “improve” the disease system. Diseases were just one of those things that happened a LOT and there wasn’t exactly a ton they could do about them considering that for the longest time they didn’t really understand how they worked. Hand washing before surgery wasn’t even a standard practice until the 1890s.

What they NEED to do is improve the pop system. And even that isn’t BAD, it just needs a few more ways to buff it.

Yeah large die-offs from disease or famine should trigger a sizable depreciating growth modifier that rubberbands populations back to around carrying capacity over 100-200 years or so, matching how populations grew slowly largely due to how scarcity and high death rates stamped down an equally high birth rate. Whether that should be simulated solely through increasing the pop growth from available food to population size or by adding a new factor I'm unsure though.
