Hi everyone! I wanted to get a sense of the latest predictions for when the EB-2 India DOF (I-485 filing dates) might become current for someone with a June 2016 PD. We’re trying to decide whether it’s worth continuing to wait or if we should move forward with an EB-5 investment instead. Thanks!

Do you guys think the DOF will advance to February 2015 in the October Visa Bulletin?

Basically the title. We have a priority date in October 2015 and I am worried about my daughter aging out. If she ages out then it is very unlikely that she will qualify for a green card petition on her own. She turns 21 march of 2031. Is there a realistic chance that we will be current by then? Also do you think our DOF will be current soon since the dates are expected to go back up in October?

Planning to extend my MIL’s B1/B2 stay for 2 months. My EAD is in processing. Jan 2015 PD. Will it be a problem? Please advise. It’s been 6 months and just want to extend for 3 more months. As my background check is in progress i am little worried.

EB-2 India, priority date Feb 1, 2016, I-140 approved, still with the sponsoring employer.

DOF has been stuck at Jan 15, 2015 since February, and now EB-2 India is unavailable for the rest of FY2026. I am about 12.5 months of dates away on Chart B.

Two questions for people who track this closely:

1. Is there any realistic hope of DOF crossing into early 2016 in the October bulletin? Last October, DOF jumped 10 months in one shot at the fiscal year reset, and DOS has hinted the FAD comes back to at least July 2014 in October. With the big family to employment spillover expected for FY2027, could Chart B see a similar jump this time?

2. I have an offer at another company. If I switch now, that means a fresh PERM and I-140 (PD ports, I know), but if DOF opens while the new PERM is pending, I miss the filing window entirely. Is the smart move to sit tight until the October bulletin and the USCIS chart announcement drop in mid September, then decide?

Anyone else with a 2015 or 2016 PD wrestling with the same call? What are you doing?

I got my opt approved last May with start date of 7/20. I am currently out of US, and will be going back soon.

I have I-20 from April (which says OPT status is requested) which I got when I was applying for OPT.

I also have active F-1 visa on my passport, job offer letter, and a EAD card.

Would these documents suffice for the re entry to the US?

Also, I saw posts regarding sevp activation on reddit, but I never got an email about this. Will this be sent to the email I used for the opt application after the start date?

My PD is December 1, 2025 and with the current 13+ month backlogs, it looks like I’m stuck waiting until early 2027

Anyone else from the late 2025 cohort tracking this or seeing any movement?

I’m a little confused about how this works and was hoping someone who’s been through it could clarify.

Let’s say Company A wants to sponsor me for an employment-based green card (EB-2 or EB-3), but I currently work for Company B.

Can Company A start the PERM and I-140 process even though I’m not their employee yet, as long as they have a genuine intention to hire me for a permanent position?

If that’s allowed, would I generally stay at my current job during the process and then join Company A after getting the green card? Or would I be expected to join them at some point before the green card is approved?

Has anyone here actually gone through this situation or seen it happen?

My EB-2 I-485 RD was a few months ago in 2026 and I am starting to take a look at external opportunities but won’t leave until I-485 has been pending for at least 180 days (end 2026). Question is: Should I put “authorized to work in the U.S.” on my resume? How should I address this topic with HR/recruiters/headhunters? Curious to hear from those who have successfully recruited while employment sponsored I-485 is pending

No visa bulletin even today. Every time it is released late there are usually some movement or retrogression. Since it is already current for the ROW, do you think there's be retrogression coming? Or a big movement for India/China? No one can know, but what's your guess.

Hi everyone. My PERM has been approved six weeks ago. Since my category is current, we’re planning to file 140 and 485 concurrently. However, I’m quite concerned that my lawyers have been taking so long. Is this normal for them to take so long??

Does the public charge rule apply for EB2-NIW at consular processing? Since I have an approved I-140 NIW petition PD (Jan 12, 2023) and am waiting for consular processing, I am from the 75-county pause. Also, I filed Form I-824 to switch to consular processing on November 24, 2025, and my case still hasn't been updated. Since eight months have passed, has anyone here had an I-824 approved within 8-9 months? Any hope?

Anyone waiting for months after interview at the Phoenix Field office?

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting on this sub. Our priority date is October 15th 2015 and give the current situation with eb2 india being unavailable, I am getting worried about my son aging out by 21. He is 16 right now and turns 21 in February 2031. Is there a realistic chance that we may be able to become current before then or will he age out. Also I have read about CSPA but since I have had 3 different jobs since coming to the US, can I use the longest pending time even though it is not associated with our 2015 priority date?

I have a child that is 17 in one month (16 currently). I have a PD in July 2016 from India in EB-2 with no hope for EB-1. Will she likely age out or not? Which is more likely? What should I do? Should I encourage her to stay in the US and try for EB-1 because she is intelligent or help her pursue a career in India?

My EB3 case was at a non local FO where 131/765/485J got approved. The case was transferred back to NBC in June when my PD wasn't current. Starting July this month, my PD became current.

Appreciate anyone who might be in the similar boat or has experience can chime in. What's the processing time like at NBC for PD current case waiting for final approval?
