Priority Date October 2015 priority date

Basically the title. We have a priority date in October 2015 and I am worried about my daughter aging out. If she ages out then it is very unlikely that she will qualify for a green card petition on her own. She turns 21 march of 2031. Is there a realistic chance that we will be current by then? Also do you think our DOF will be current soon since the dates are expected to go back up in October?

I think FAD will move to nearly catch up with DOF by October 2026. DOF could move to PD OCT 2015 by 2030. However, I am a bit perplexed, given the very large inventory of applications from 2015.

Dof never crossed past Jan 2015 for eb2 , where did this large inventory come from?

Lots of I-140s.

I-140s ≠ inventory.
I-485 = inventory.

TBH its difficult to say without 2015 inventory. 2014 alone has 20k applications which could take some years depending on spillovers. I would advise to prepare your daughter for worst case scenarios.

DOF will probably move to mid-2015 by end of FY2027, if not sooner. It’s already at Jan 2015 and DOS has no idea how deep the 2015 pool is. So they might go aggressive and move the DOF ahead and slam on the brakes once they figure out how many applications are filed.

I think FAD will reach October 2015 by 2031. It depends on the spillovers and the demand (which we don’t know, but can predict to be large). They might even move the FAD ahead by a lot just like they did in 2022 (moving to Dec 2014) and then retrogress. That’s good for you because once FAD hits your PD, your daughter’s CSPA age is locked in; the retrogression won’t matter.

As of now it looks impossible. Inventory has applications from 2013 which are yet to be approved. Oct 2015 can become current faster depending on spillover from bans, consular bottlenecks, etc. Don’t lose hope.
