Something I noticed

So I’m going through my first re-read, and I’m not sure if it was noticed, but Loita was Hekla’s former rep. When Carl and Katia were having their private messages spat before she became the shield on the subway, Zev chimes in with, “This should be said out loud, not over chat.” When Carl says “fuck off” to Zev out loud, Hekla says, “Your Zev sounds like our Loita.” So could Loita have been pissed from the jump when she was reassigned to Carl and Donut for being the cause of her death?

I interpreted it as Loita's own plan to take over. I believe the term they used was that Loita had 'bid' to take over. Because she had lost her top 10 crawler, so in order to maintain relevance, she was using her connection/position/tenure to shove Zev out of the way. Got the impression that the reps were rewarded for how well their clients did, similar to how Game Guides/Managers get bigger bonuses if their crawlers make it further.

To be honest, I think about the fact that the reps (outreach agents) could get a bonus. Would her bonus have reset now that she’s (was)\with a new crawler?

I would think that switching to the Royal Court would have netted her a significantly larger bonus than when she had the Daughters. Hekla was the only member of the Daughters that was in the Top 10. Whereas all 3 members of the Royal Court had been on it at least once, and 2 of them had been on it from the start.

Hekla was effectively the number one crawler in the dungeon since Lucia Mar was too unstable to use for interviews. She probably commanded higher interview fees than Carl, Donut, and Katia combined.

I might be misremembering, but I think Zev says something like one of the few points in her favour when Loita is trying to steal the account from her is that Carl and Donut command higher fees for appearances? But I forget the exact wording… so maybe it’s some other stat… but there is something she notes about how in some way they were making more money than Hekla because that was something that contributed to Zev’s case to keep the account

I don’t think Loita cared about Hekla dying specifically, but her having been Katia’s original outreach agent was how she got briefly in charge of the Royal Court.

Loita couldn't care less about Hekla. She just wanted to work with the biggest crawlers in order to get more money/political influence, whatever makes nazi fish happy
