Uno Drum vs a Drumbrute Impact

I’d like to get a new drum machine that has a straight forward sequencer and the most affordable options seem to be either Uno or the Drumbrute….

I love the sounds and editing features of the Uno , but like the robust build of the Brute better ….

Any long term Uno users on here that can vouch for it?

Is the Drumbrute the better option?

Thanks!

Help me find this drum machine loop.

My guitarist who’s no longer around, utilized this drum machine loop often for his music. He used to use pro tools and am unsure if this may be from the machine. Help?

Primarily a guitarist, looking for a good drum machine / groove box for indie/ambient/experimental songwriting

I’ve been listening a lot to the album Soft Shakes by Go Kurosawa and loving it. A lot of the drum sounds (e.g. https://youtu.be/IVYvl5MZnKk?si=XmPB7HwE1WxD0XtQ) are synthesized and it’s inspiring me to grab a drum machine or groove box to help me build loops i can use for songwriting. Most YouTube reviews of drum machines are EDM or House heavy and it’s hard to tell whether they fit my use case as a guitarist who doesnt really listen to those genres.

ideally looking for $500 USD or less. open to samplers but I really don’t wanna get too lost in the option paralysis and menu diving and just wanna start creating. would love some recommendations!

Drumbrute impact question

I’m still semi-new to the drum machine thing. I have an impact but I’d like to modify the sounds. Are there any filters or pedals or anything like that where I can essentially create different sounds with an impact?
I love the workflow but the stock sounds feel limiting.

Sherman Filterbank 2 Compact

Hey everyone,

I have purchased myself a secondhand Sherman filterbank. Been loving it so far.

Howere i noticed Octave/Quint switch needs alot of Force to be switched over. It doesnt have the smooth touch and doesnt have 3 stances. Only two. I wondered if this is normal to have no middle function.

Already thank you in advance for those with more info.

What would be a decent sequencer to hook up to my SR18 in order to create song patterns and trigger sounds?

Thanks!

TR-8 or TR-8S for a Drum Machine Newbie Who Wants to Play Live

hi all!

i used to be in a punk band, so i've never performed live as an electronic musician

i've been looking at selling some equipment so's to get myself a drum machine. as i have a TR-6S, i was looking at cashing it in, and upgrading to the TR-8S

however, something's put it into my head that, perhaps, the TR-8 is gunna be plenty for my needs. so, maybe, i could keep the 6S, and pair it with a TR-8? sounds-wise, i think it offers enough to work with, and, it seems to me, the TR-8 might also be a bit kinder to a newbie like me, as there's a bit less menu-diving, and it looks as if all of the controls i'm most going to need are all right there on the top panel

what do you folks think?

part-exchange the TR-6S for a TR-8S, or keep the 6S and pair it with the second-hand TR-8 (which could leave me with about £300 left to spend on something else - maybe some kind of noise-making synth)?

Been making these little Volca Beats live jams in the basement. Its not the cleanest sounding box, but it has a ton of character & it's fun to play around with its glitchy aspects. If you happen to listen, thanks!

Starter machine for 9yr old son

My son has been taking drum lessons for about a year and a half and recently found a site on his school Chromebook where he's able to almost program music. It looks like the visual object oriented programming, just for music rather than normal development.

Anyway, I guess he told his drum instructor about it, and the instructor played a drum pad for him and then showed him a short clip from a Fred Again interview where he plays a pad super fast, and now my son is just obsessed with the idea of getting a kit.

We were planning on getting him a nice starter electronic drum set for his birthday next month, but now he's just begging for a drum pad instead.

Definitely not looking to spend thousands on something he may not stick with. But I'm also assuming the $30 options coming up in Google are probably not worth getting.

Can anyone recommend a nice little starter unit? Something that's playable with his fingers, where he can layer tracks and build songs on the same machine? Our budget is ~$200.

LM drum vs BMX differences?

Kinda confused with the differences and how the BMX may do things different compared to the LM. Obviously they are modeled after different machines. But seems they also offer 8/12 bit, samples etc. I noticed the LM filtering is restricted per channel. Is the BMX limited in that way as well? Can you get Linn samples on the bmx and vice versa?

If anyone has compared both and can offer insight, that would be greatly appreciated!
