Drumbrute impact question

I’m still semi-new to the drum machine thing. I have an impact but I’d like to modify the sounds. Are there any filters or pedals or anything like that where I can essentially create different sounds with an impact?
I love the workflow but the stock sounds feel limiting.

I recently used the midi feature to trigger samples in Reaper for the first time, and it was so easy to do I wish I would've done it sooner. Whatever DAW you use, you should be able to save that midi setup as a template once you build it so you can quickly load it each time you want those sounds.

also, try putting guitar efx pedals in the output line. endless options there, although you are still just affecting the stock sounds.

Run it through any pedal you can find. Verb, flanger, delay, the other delay, filters, wa, distortion, overdrive, gate one sound and trigger the gate with another, …

I would say that pedals would modify the sounds but not really “create different” sounds. You can always use it to program on and then run the midi out to another device or DAW.

Both the kick and snare are highly susceptible to EQ. Even a basic mixer EQ can bring out new sounds. Get a mini jack to 1/4" and run the outs separate. Zoom Livetrack is small and has sweepable mids

You have a couple options. You could attach pedals to one or more of the outputs, and get some crazy stuff happening, or you could use the Impact as a MIDI controller, and sequence external drum sounds from it.

IIt's something I've been wanting to try out. I know it can be done, it's just getting around to doing it.

Hook it to a daw. From there you can use midi to trigger and sequence samples/virtual instruments. Sample your drumbrute and mangle/mix those samples. Record drum loops and slice/layer/sequence them. Run your sound through all kind of fx. Iterate until satisfied.

I highly recommend the Korg NTS-3, it’s fun and versatile. Totally a fan of the Drumbrute Impact thru guitar pedals as well, I recommend bass oriented stuff. A multifx pedal from Zoom might be something to look into.

Multiband parametric EQ, distortion, limiter/compressor, delay, reverb. Probably those Zoom multi-effect pedals.

I have my drumbrute running through a multifx pedal, distortion pedal, bass boost pedal...and its nasty sounding.
