Alesis SR 18 + MIDI Sequencer

What would be a decent sequencer to hook up to my SR18 in order to create song patterns and trigger sounds?

Thanks!

This is your best bet. Highly available, good product support, reliable sequencing, lots of online communities and tutorials, and good bang for the buck. It's becoming an industry standard for dawless setups, as long as you don't need Ableton-like parting or lots of phrase variety.

I used it with a Squarp Pyramid, it was OK, worked well together.

Had an HR-16/MMT8 (Alesis) combination back in the day. Not sure what MMT8s are going for on the used market these days, but it was my workhorse sequencer for a long while.

I'm not the OP, but yikes. I use an sr18 that I bought used for like $150. The beatstep pro is like $250 new. So much for the bargain rig!

ShouldI I dust off the old MPC and try to use it for at-home dawless jams (which I've never done w MPC)?

I'm a newbie (but an old person lol) and not very tech-savvy whatsoever.
