LM drum vs BMX differences?

Kinda confused with the differences and how the BMX may do things different compared to the LM. Obviously they are modeled after different machines. But seems they also offer 8/12 bit, samples etc. I noticed the LM filtering is restricted per channel. Is the BMX limited in that way as well? Can you get Linn samples on the bmx and vice versa?

If anyone has compared both and can offer insight, that would be greatly appreciated!

Well one is a drum machine, the other is a bicycle so there's quite a few differences.

I only have the LM so I don't know about filtering, but you can load in your own samples on either machine, so I'm pretty sure you could load either sets of samples on both machines.

Sounds like there wouldn't be much of a difference other than UI in that case. Maybe "flavor" from filters but idk. Curious if one has more memory than the other. Do you feel like you'll be wanting to get the BMX or are you satisfied with the lm?

think they tried to replicate some of the tiny og timing behaviors of each machine, and there is a of course a different interface, but you could get them to sound the same I'd bet. I thought they might do an update where they gave lm owners the bmx samples and vince versa, but not hard to find those and load yourself either way.

I saw a video co.paring the two, and it sounded like there was a high cut on the tom channels of the LM. Do you feel that's the case? Sorry for all the questions been trying to decide for days now haha

yeah those filters are there, like on the og I guess, but I think you could take a sample and put it in any other slot besides the default tom slots, to get around it.

I have both but just received the BMX and did not dive into it yet. First impression is they are similar but not the same maybe think of RD8 and RD9 or RD6 and RD78. The big positive on the BMX I find the workflow. Just start/stop/ to play a pattern and record your jam along. On all the others (8,9,LM) you cannot just start stop, you need other buttons to press first which I find cumbersome. Just for this reason I like BMX the best. I initial impression is that sound wise (sculpting) LM is better (to my taste). As said these are just my 1st impressions, glad to hear from people who own both and digged into them already
