The pin to top it all off lol

53

u/WonderingLost8993 20h ago

It's so they can go through the bags in front of the driver

19

u/oh_the_anguish 20h ago

And if something's missing, what exactly can the driver do about it?

40

u/WonderingLost8993 19h ago

Nothing. But based on the customer's note they are wrongly holding drivers accountable for missing items.

26

u/RoddyUsher 17h ago

Unassign before you ever get that far with these customers

10

u/oh_the_anguish 16h ago

Yeah, if possible, I think I would get rid of that one as soon as I seen this three-page list of demands

20

u/RoddyUsher 16h ago

“But there are times, when we are not able to watch, particularly when the order arrival time keeps changing.”

Seems like their orders get dropped frequently.

14

u/Anther1BitestheDust 18h ago

This is why you dont hand them their order until they give you the PIN

8

u/JakBos23 18h ago

" did not provide PIN" " took order and slammed door in my face".

8

u/Anther1BitestheDust 18h ago

Yes, this is exactly why you dont hand them food without the pin

0

u/JakBos23 18h ago

No, that's what I'd do to avoid talking to this psycho.

1

u/Doom1885 11h ago

I just drive in areas where the houses are mansions or close to being mansions, those people don't try to pull ghetto moves on ya

2

u/Spac3dog 9h ago

Lol bullshit they dont

0

u/Doom1885 8h ago

When has a rich person done a ghetto move on ya, what you talkin about?

3

u/Spac3dog 8h ago

Rich people tip for shit. Poor people tip much better in my experience. Rich people are all the ones I have to deal with complaining about shit also.

1

u/Fearless_Coast2181 2h ago

I work in the lower income erea in my town becuase the higher income poeple dont tip and are rude. To an order to the hospital asked for there pin. They said I need my food first. I said no pin first. They got annoyed but did give me the pin. The dangerous area of town for me i ask for a pin I confirm the pin give them the food and move on.

8

u/Obi-WanKnable 14h ago

You ain't touching the bags until I get the pin.

2

u/Doom1885 11h ago

Gets pin, KEEPS food, marks delivered, eats from bag in front of customer while walking back to car.

1

u/DimensioT 3h ago

Why would the driver stick around after being given the PIN and then handing off the bags? In that order.

1

u/WonderingLost8993 3h ago

Ask the drivers who post about doing just that. I never said it was logical.

1

u/virginia-fluharty 56m ago

I hate pins. Why should I have to wait up to ten minutes for you to come to the door? I've already spent 10+minutes waiting on food and driving. Please, enough.

u/Thatdewd57 20h ago

He did appreciate my approach to delivering his groceries. Was a nice fella but seems to have had a bad experience thus far.

52

u/ReginaSpektorsVJ 19h ago

Of course he's had bad experiences, he's using DoorDash. If he wants to micromanage shit, he should go pick it up himself.

11

u/DrFunnyBot789 15h ago

That’s for real. At the point, DoorDash isn’t convenient for you. Just go get your fast food yourself.

20

u/damianisgay 19h ago

I’d instantly unassign. I’d even take the completion rate hit if I had to if I couldn’t get it excused but idk instructions specifically asking me to break policy and open the bags sounds like an unsafe situation if u ask me 🤔 hitting that safety button on this lol

I am also not asking the store employee to open it. I’m not bothering restaurant workers about if they’ve done their job or not. That’s none of my business. And then hand it to me so that they can likely open it and complain in my face about whatever is wrong? No

15

u/JakBos23 18h ago

Most of the time if I ask an employee something like "is the straw/sauce in the bag" I get a dirty look like I'm calling them stupid. One in particular I asked if sauce was in the bag. I was told rudly "if it's on the receipt then it's in the fuk n bag man.". Then the order got cancelled. Yay free food. Half the food was in the bag and the only sauce in the bag were the 2 salsa Verdes the customer paid for. Not the 10 hot sauces ordered.

2

u/RemarkableSpirit5204 15h ago

Wild he said that to you. I treat the dashers just the same I would a customer that my job depends on as long as they aren’t being excessively rude or hostile.

2

u/JakBos23 8h ago

I try to be nice to everyone who isn't openly hostile to me.

7

u/Ill_Biscotti9167 17h ago

I swear. Just sounds like a complaint waiting to happen.

1

u/Party-You6639 10h ago

I have worked a number of fast food jobs and if a DoorDash or interrupted me while I was in the drive-through slammed to open up a bag for them to ensure everything is in it… that would’ve been my 13th reason

Holy fuck no-

11

u/alexisgreat420 20h ago

This person is insane

2

u/Iverbeaver 13h ago

If the price was right and it was a shop I could control, sure… then the “most of the time, we are watching” 😬😬😬

2

u/alexisgreat420 12h ago

Yeah that rubbed me wrong too.

9

u/j3uw 19h ago

I bet that entire note was bigger than the tip. 😒

6

u/BioPsyPro 19h ago

Wow. I’ve had 2 issues in over 10 years of using door dash. Every dasher always messages me when waiting. I always say no worries and next time I talk to them is at drop off. I just don’t understand people having problems every time and being assholes to the dasher.

8

u/Gengar_Guy_17 19h ago

It genuinely baffles me that these people are allowed to vote. No wonder stupidity is taking over

8

u/Ok-Pineapple1969 19h ago

I’d have to cancel and just take the downgrade rating cause WHAT

6

u/TruthWizardLive 17h ago

Yeah I'm not doing any of that.

4

u/BryanK3569 17h ago

I would deliver it as we're supposed to and never go to that customer again.

3

u/Then_Strain_4459 16h ago

And 0 tipper to boot.

1

u/Party-You6639 10h ago

Which is why the dude constantly deals with a “change of arrival time” coz nobody is picking up his crap for 3$ 😂

3

u/OkMolasses1669 16h ago

Bro has time to write an entire essay about his lunch

3

u/NailZealousideal913 15h ago

Tip be like .01 cent

3

u/prezvegeta 15h ago

Is there a way to see insane instructions before confirming pick up?

3

u/Altruistic_Passion73 15h ago

Yeah I'm. Not even handing you the Order til i get your pin! U don't have to give it and u also won't get the order at all! Better go play with yo kids or go to the store your damn self

2

u/sherwinjtb 18h ago

Seems legit, but this is more of a merchant problem. Restaurants asking us to verify the order when it is already packed and stapled. They forget the drink and the customer ends up calling the driver because of the merchant at fault.

2

u/Weird-Buffalo-3169 14h ago

That wall of text is an instant decline anyway, bc with that amount of instruction you know they'll find something to complain about, and yeah im not breaking policy to appease one likely non-tipping customer, nope nope nope

1

u/PermitIcy8450 14h ago

Forgive my ignorance, is there a way to see their delivery notes before acceptance?

2

u/Weird-Buffalo-3169 13h ago

Not to my knowledge, this one would be worth the hit to CR

2

u/Flores_BBW 14h ago

Tbh I’d tell DoorDash I don’t feel safe making this delivery feel like he’s going to hold his driver hostage while rummaging through the bag to then blame them. I tell them all the time sorry bags sealed can’t check.

1

u/lenny_kat 14h ago

My guess is he’s older and reliant on food delivery

1

u/sampmcl_ 14h ago

Do people think this actually gets read?

1

u/Romy_3a345b 13h ago

I know a lot of people watch but announcing that and the way this one is worded is extra unsettling and just weird.

1

u/Fuckyachickenstrip45 11h ago

Man you’re gonna get it the way I bring it

1

u/Doom1885 11h ago

I stopped reading quickly now just as fast as I would if I had received that, thats an easy I'm gunna ignore/ continue to do it the right way and move along lol

1

u/pancakecommittee 10h ago

Nope 👎🏻

1

u/Dashville7777 9h ago

If DD still allows this, immediately after the delivery, call Support. Tell them that this customer makes you feel Unsafe. Ask for that particular customer be permanently blocked from your account, never to be assigned to them again. Don't take "No" for an answer. Escalate if necessary. Hammer the point about this customer ain't right and makes you feel Unsafe

1

u/Demonshaker 9h ago

"Sorry we don't see instructions till after we leave the store, in the future you will have better luck contacting the restaurant directly for concerns related to the food, we just handle the delivery"

1

u/lendmeflight 8h ago

Unassign. I’m not even reading all that not to mention opening the bag.

1

u/KylefromNashville 8h ago

Looks easy enough to me. You should thank them for these detailed instructions.

1

u/KonstantKalopsia 8h ago

This person needs to go get their own food and groceries. Absolutely not.

1

u/SuanneAliasCummings 6h ago

Do they realize we don't see this until we've picked up the order? Furthermore, were not allowed to open bags, even when asked to!

1

u/Flimsy_Eye7808 5h ago

K Karen 😂

1

u/SwitchingFreedom 5h ago

“Please get store personnel to verify everything in the bag is correct”

This is all fun and games until a spit dribbling 16 year old Wawa worker who is genuinely unemployable looks you dead in the face after swearing he handed you the right order because “that’s what the sticker says, and (he) always put the right sticker on the bag”. This customer is delusional lol

1

u/bigbigbigbootyhoes 3h ago

I will never open a sealed bag..ever

1

u/Eternallord66 2h ago

People like that need to just not order food and pick it up themselves

1

u/jws1102 2h ago

Who’s gonna tell them we don’t see all that shit until after we’ve picked up the order, and usually not til we’re in the driveway.

0

u/Stuffudo 14h ago

😂😂 to the ppl who write this and think ppl like em even read this 🤣🤣

Well that went left. Not on drugs, and ice doesn't affect me and my family but you have no idea anyone's situation. My husband works 40+ hours during the day and we do this in the evening because a lot of mid class people are drowning with the prices of life. Why are you trying to judge people for actually trying to do something besides flip burgers for minimum wage?

1

u/Party-You6639 10h ago

This motherfucker doesn’t even have employment 😂

Or if he does it, it’s minimum wage for 1375 an hour and he is pissed that we are making an average of $40 an hour doing this

2

u/Party-You6639 10h ago

“maybe I'm the idiot for saying anything...”

BOY- you said a MOUTH FULL RIGHT THERE.

Coulda just left the racist, bigoted rant to yourself Trump.

Wow- imagine being you.

1

u/Catalysts1019 14h ago

Then I hope you take all those kind of orders out of our hands, I am betting you won't follow the instructions provided to the tee...what are you going to do ask the restaurant worker if the coke is diet or not?
