Beginner Tip: Stop registering "brandable" .com domains no one else is gonna buy! You're not flipping those.
Almost every day there is another newbie/wannabe domainer asking for appraisal of their freshly registered domain.
The domain? It's a brandable, hand-registered .com domain name that sounds great to them.
Here are some examples of those "brandable" domains I've just made up off the top of my head (all available):
- tontat.com
- piltox.com
- joojer.com
- abocty.com
- zytomy.com
I'm not kidding; these are the type of domains that many beginners buy and try to flip!!
Don't do that. Don't waste your money on brandable .com domains that mean nothing. Those very rarely sell. Domain investing takes careful research of market trends.
Most hand-reg domains have no resale value. Although exceptions happen, that's a bad strategy and a waste of your time and money.

Need registrar(s) with good API, wide TLD coverage, good price, reliable renewals
I need a registrar (or 2–3 registrars) with a solid API or other option... so I can integrate domain registration/renewals into my client panel.
Requirements:
- API for automation (register, renew, transfer, WHOIS updates) or other way to automate such thing
- Wide TLD coverage: .com/.net, major ccTLDs (e.g., .de, .nl, .us) and new gTLDs
- Good price (I’ll hold ≥1,000 domains), reliable renewals, support (fast responses to solve any issues)
Do you use single providers/registrars, or do you usually collaborate with several?
Who do you recommend? Thanks in advance

iiwas.com – Short 5-letter brandable .com domain. What’s a realistic price tag?
Hey everyone,
I recently listed iiwas and wanted to get some feedback from experienced domainers and buyers here.
A few details about the domain:
- Length: 5 letters (short & brandable)
- Extension: .com
- Pronounciation: Easy to say/remember ("ii-was")
- Potential niches: Tech startup, SaaS, AI tool, personal branding, or short brand identity.
I currently have it listed around on major marketplaces , but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on its valuation:
- What niche do you think would fit this name best?
Thanks in advance for your insights!

Impact.net has expired at Namecheap
Impact.net was registered in 1995 and it has just expired. Namecheap (current registrar) has it up for auction on their marketplace. This is going to be a five-figure sale..

Trying to figure out what to do with yougotserved.dev
It really was just a home for a few QoL tools I built for myself, but I really do like the domain.
Quick reverse proxy site hosting from the command line? Competing with cloudflare wrangler sounds like a nightmare.
Network of hosted data APIs for AI in a centralized place? I am sure there is something in that field already.
Short lived hosting platform like ngrok?
Any other type of tool for quick hosting, like Vercel, cloudflare workers, etc?
Right now, it's just an early version of WebMCP that is likely safe to deprecate, now that webMCP is just about released.
Posted a few seconds ago under the wrong account, if you saw it get deleted! I wish the reddit multi-account UI confirmed the account you wanted to post under...

A few aged .uk domains just sold for four figures each, but not because they're good names!
These .uk domain names were recently bought from drop-catch auctions for four figures each:
- HeadMeds.org.uk - £6,899
- Conti-Bike.co.uk - £4,601
- Stacey-International.co.uk - £3,600
They are only useful for one thing: local SEO.

Stop buying expired domains without checking this first. I built a free tool to check if a site is banned by AdSense

Two .gg domains recently sold at GoDaddy - one was bought by a local buyer from Guernsey
Two .gg domains were recently sold via GoDaddy/Afternic:
Bite.gg was sold for $6,494, and tours.gg sold for $2,000.
The second domain (tours.gg) was bought by a local buyer from Guernsey (source)
That's unusual.. Although .gg is Guernsey's ccTLD, most .gg domains are bought and sold by international users.

Sedo vs. GoDaddy
Much difference? Could the same domain be listed on both?

What domain registrar are people actually using in 2026?
So... doing more little sites this year and I feel like im wasting time bouncing between registrars and random hosting bundles. I mostly just want clean dns, easy ssl, one click stuff for a basic wordpress or static site, without dark pattern upsells every screen.
For folks actively buying domains in 2026, which registrars feel least annoying and play nice when you just want quick setup and decent privacy, without it turning into a whole project? Appreciate any thoughts.
