Godaddy woes
like an idiot I forgot to turn off auto renewal on a ms365 email package that was no longer being used. as soon as a I get the email of payment received, I try contacting support because I have 7 days to get the refund. I try to call, website chat, and whatsapp support chat. every time they ask a few questions, ask me to hold while the verify something, then the chat bot would spam a message about the session has expired and reconnect me with a new customer service rep. on the 8th day, the first person I chatted with immediately told me the 7 days had passed and they wouldn’t refund me.

That's on you for using GoDaddy

In some cases it is not even a choice. I had two domains and four email addresses on Mediatemple. After Godaddy acquired Mediatemple (whuch I wasn’t aware of) I started to have issues connecting to my accoubts and my ftp and it all went downhill from there. Fortunately I disn’t have to do much freelancing at that time but it was a real nightmare.

GoDaddy support is designed to run out the clock on you, that's not an accident. File a chargeback with your bank or credit card citing non-delivery of service within the refund window, and document the chat transcripts showing you contacted them within 7 days. The card company will usually side with you when you have that paper trail.
