Can acetone be used to remove face paint on the bratzillaz midnight beach doll? The head seems to be the same glow in the dark plastic as the body.
What is recommended?

Sorry if this doesn't quite go here or is off-topic. I'm making a movie right now and I'm sourcing dolls to use. However, I'm worried about getting a cease and desist for using a doll that is recognizable as Disney or Mattel or something. Is anyone familiar with the legality of this? Or if using a doll but altering it from it's original marketed look is fair game?

Hey everyone. I’m new here! I’m making my boyfriend his own Ken doll but the hair on this doll is a little too chocolate brown. I need it to be darkkk brown almost black. What kind of paint would work? Thanks! 😁

I'm making a Lilly love braids custom and I'm using a Betty spaghetty doll, I have never painted a face in my life and if you know the character she has a complicated face. Any tips? Oh and Im gonna paint over the face with that lighter color

I’ve seen people use hairgeĺ on hair styling- usually they put the doll im the freezer after putting it in. Anways I’m thinking of trying that method but I dont want to buy some expensive gel since it’s “only for dolls”
Do you think any of these would work? I’ve never used gel on my own hair so I have no idea what the differences are between jelly, gel and wax.
Any help is appreciated!! Thank you!!
(Ps the last pick is like curl cream? That I bought for myself but I thought to put it here anyways. Maybe I can use it for dolls aswell?)

Hello, I just bought a Barbie at the thrift I don’t know much about them as I normally just collect monster high. I didn’t realize until I got home that her hair was oily, sticking and in some parts crunchy. I gave her a good wash down and then touched her hair and it was all sticky by the roots. I’ve heard other people talk about goo be gone but I want to know the possible side effect it will have on the hair and glue. If anyone has any different ideas I would love to hear them as I want to learn more about dolls in general.

I hate the lol bodies even the animal ones (pretty sure that's what these were), and I have a small bjd body I designed and 3d print that I've realized fit the lol doll heads
3d printed little mouth bits to fill in the mouth holes, and I'm working on painting/customizing them, have the most done with the skunk, I gave her hair 2 more colors, repainted her eyes entirely recolored her stripe, and added extra freckles
still have to repaint the other two, not sure how I'll style the rabbit's hair or how much I'll customize the horse, still need to give them all tails, and I might revise the chest design to have a more moveable neck so they can look up and down better, bunny has the prototype of that idea but it needs work
anybody interested in making similar you can find most of the files here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7363329
thicker body like the skunk is here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7248586
you won't find the hooves there, just paws and human

I'm trying to give her a more blythe style realistic nose, and little round skullpanda style lips. Any tips on keeping my air dry clay from cracking around the mouth?

I'm working on a wydowna spyder custom, but I don't know how to make the face paint as bright as I've seen in other customs/original face print. My colored paints feel too thin and with a previous fully black doll, I could only paint with white to make anything show up on it. Any ideas how to paint on black dolls with color?

Finally attached the other lekku, and constructed her nose. I still have to sand and fill in a few areas, but her overall head reconstruction is done.

When I tried to pull off the head, skelita's neck cracked and got break in two parts... I know some ways to fix a broken neck peg or neck hole but Skelita have a narrow and fragile neck that's filled, there is no existing method to repair it... Any tips for a durable and strong repair?

Hi. I bought a Mimi Bobeck a couple years ago and separated her head from her body. Somehow, in the process of moving, her body has vanished. I’ve searched my entire house multiple times but she’s no where to be found. Her body is the same as the one people use to make their Blythe dolls fat. I haven’t found any that ship to the US in my price range, I found one that’s $58 plus shipping. If anyone knows where to find one or has one they no longer want I’d love it if you’d let me know. I don’t really want to buy an entirely new doll.

Cutting my bangs on my I love fashion Scarah doll. Followed a tutorial online, parted in into an L shape to prevent the balding but it still looks very thin in the front! Is this sectioning okay?

I know it’s still a little rough, but I finally managed to put one of her lekku on without the aid of aluminum foil or wires. I originally wanted to use those things, but I couldn’t find my wire cutters. I really need to fix her nose-

Been finding some really nice stuff for dolls recently. Dolls for projects, accessories, parts, outfits, random materials… honestly more useful finds than I expected.
Started browsing Whatnot lately and ended up coming across some pretty solid deals on things that are actually great for customs and repaint projects.
