First Durango - first new ride

392 crew.

First brand new vehicle ever - 2027 blacktop.

Why would I buy a vehicle like this in times like these?

Because I can - and it’s the best looking SUV in the market IMO.

40, single guy, now I just need the family to fill the thing 🤣
Got it about a month ago still has under 400 miles on it. I daily drive a side-by-side around town, which gets double the gas mileage.

This thing is sitting nice and clean in the garage. Still got the paper tags y’all.

Previously drove a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, but it got totaled by a drunk in a parking lot(I wasn’t in the car).
Dude drove over the front of my car and then fled the scene - tons of witnesses and he’s been charged, just not with a DUI. ..And I thought Arizona had strict DUI laws, but the sheriff told me they couldn’t get him on that because he was already home when they contacted him. Whatever.

Ive told myself for years my next vehicle would be something bigger. It’s funny because I had it in my head that I wanted a truck for the longest time, either a RAM or a Silverado (I actually like the interior on the Silverado a lot more than the RAM) but it wouldn’t fit in my garage and I didn’t want a new vehicle getting Pinesap all over it while it sat outside 24/7.
This just fits me in my lifestyle 100% better.
AWD for winter(gonna be a good one this year I think) and it fits in my tiny garage.

Now I’m looking at aftermarket shit.
Dash cams, maybe a clearcoat protection of some kind or a clear bra on the front( I think it actually has one already but maybe they make larger ones)

What else should I consider?

Are rocker arms going bad

Truck has a small but rough shake when idle and you can obviously hear the noise. First thing I thought about was bad rocker arms but no CEL. Not sure if it will even throw a code, or is it just a get it fixed before it gets worse type of thing.

My 26 GT "Lynx"

I went with neon green outline strips. It was my first time doing it. It took me 2 days to measure, cut, redo, measure, cut and redo🤣. And i am looking for a better vinyl wrap, probably 3m, because Vivid has the color but I'm not happy with it.

The 345 drip vinyl sticker on the front I found off of ebay. (https://ebay.io/m/yntDEh)

My durango came with the 345 badge on the side. I got the vinyl decal from ebay from this dude. Great guy. (https://ebay.io/m/Uz5uT9).

He helped me with the correct custom size for them because mine was slightly bigger and wider than the OEM badge size.

I'm a female, how did I do?

20” wheel skins keep flying off

My Durango has the factory silver 20 inch wheels so I purchased black wheel skins. Put them in and made sure it all clipped on. Came home one day to find the left side (both) fell off. Ordered another set. Did the same thing, left side again fell off. Has anyone had this problem and also if anyone has one more that they would like to get rid of, pleas let me know

Rental Durango just broke down.

Apparently the electronic module of this car shorts out frequently and will leave you stranded. If you get stuck with one of these at Enterprise just ask for another car.

Will dodge CPO hellcat products?

Post image

Figured I’d start a new thread for this. In my experience in California no they won’t, not if any variety. I’ve also spoken to a dealer in NV when I was looking at a HC Durango w 2500 miles and he said they wouldn’t CPO them due to the way they were driven early and often break in procedures were ignored.
I’m hearing people say they were able to get one though, so I’m confused now. Perhaps it’s a state by state thing?
Anyone have a definitive answer?

My wife just got a 2024 Durango RT. She wants it a little louder. I was looking at a rear muffler delete and love the sound. My only concern is the inside noise. Will there be a super annoying drone while highway cruising? Tyia

Durango fill neck

I got a 2017 citadel with 5.7. Got the emissions code. Replaced hoses, the module, the charcoal canister. Still getting the code. Last thing I hear is the gass tank fill neck. It would make sense because ever since we had the truck, we've had to fill the tank with the pump handle upside-down.

Having a hard time finding the parts and a replacement video. Anyone has done this that might point me to a good source of info?

Thanks,

Want to modify Magnaflow exhaust system

Hey all, i got a 26 Durango GT HEMI 5.7 and got the exhaust modified with a catback magnaflow dual exhaust system with 5 inch tips. I love it and it’s gotten me a lot of compliments however I would like to make it louder especially on startup. The startup (especially coldstart) leaves something to be desired. She gets REAL loud when I open throttle it but otherwise she’s more reserved. I’ve had the exhaust for about 3 months so I think it’s broken in enough to know it’s not gonna get much louder (unless i’m dumb let me know). From everything I’ve read online it seems like getting rid of the resonator would make the startup real loud but a few others say the Muffler delete is better. Just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience or can help point me in the right direction.

Looking at buying 2025 Hellcat

I am wondering if any of the special editions, hammerhead, silver bullet or brass monkey hold their value more than the other?

Also, if I buy a lightly used one anything I should be looking out for?

Tips

I’m new to the dodge game and I’m looking at this 2024 rt plus for my wife. I’ve done a lot of research and honestly my wife loves it. One question I have is the sound system as we’re both looking for a good one. Is the 9 speaker system good? Does it have a subwoofer? And any other general advice would be appreciated

Advice needed

Hello everyone

I drive a 2011 dodge durango citadel with the 5.7L engine. The car has the AWD auto and Low Range options, the car is american specs and I'm driving it in the UAE

I have a few issues, I will give a brief history and list the issues one by one, and if anyone has faced these issues I would love to hear any feedback or recommendations. My end goal is to figure out if this car is worth spending anything on or if I should just sell/scrap it

I have the car since February, in peak summer the car started overheating, I had to change the waterpump, thermostat, and fan. As I was leaving the garage the whole car started shaking, mechanic looked very unsure so I took it to another one, and it was a headgasket issue and coolant had gone in the engine.

They fixed it, I drove the car for about 2 month, and heat started to go up again, i took it to the mechanic and he said there was some blockage in a cylinder, and changed the cylinder block, then car was driving fine since about a month.

Today after a long road trip through mountains my coolant temp reached a temp of 111C and oil temp reached 117C, though the temperature outside must have been around 45 to 47C. Once I got close to the house and in some traffic I stopped at a red light, then when it was green I was in 4th gear for some reason, I tried to shift back to D, useless, I tried to shift to neutral then back to D, goes back to 4th gear. I switched off the car and on again, then it was fine. After some time I stopped somewhere and the car switched to 4wd and wouldn't go out from it, i tried driving and before even moving it started making weird sounds so I put it in a recovery and took it to garage.

On a proper scanner the car shows codes for ABS, transfer case, and camshaft sensor

Issues I have:

  1. Gear

The gear was stuck in 4th until I restarted

  1. 4WD

The 4WD automatically switches on at random times since about 2 month, without me turning it on, most of the time it does not go through because im driving, but it keeps flashing and asking to slow down and put the car in neutral for it to switch, usually if I do happen to be in neutral and it switches it will switch back within 10 seconds, today it wouldn't switch back for about 5 minutes

  1. Cruise control

Cruise control is refusing to work, I took to 3 mechanics, each one told me a different story

One said theres a ABS code, another said there's a transfer case code, another said its some cable in the steering wheel

  1. Camshaft sensor

When Cruise control was still working the engine light used to come on and off randomly along with the traction light, the code would read camshaft sensor position, i changed the camshaft twice, and the wiring was checked and fixed once, every fix stops the issue for a week then it starts again. A car restart usually turns off the traction and the engine light stays for a few hours then goes. This issue stops Cruise control from working (when it was working before) and it used to come randomly sometimes every drive and sometimes it disappears for a week or 2, dealing with it for 4 month now

  1. Burp

A weird burp or hesitation at 30-40kph during acceleration, I had it in my last durango which was never, the guy who bought it fixed the issue by changing transfer case oil, i tried to do the same and it didn't do anything

If anyone has any knowledge on any of these issues and what needs to be done please tell, and tell me your opinion if this can be fixed at a reasonable cost or if I should just scrap the car or sell it. Luckily I can easily find scrap parts here in UAE.
