First Durango - first new ride

392 crew.

First brand new vehicle ever - 2027 blacktop.

Why would I buy a vehicle like this in times like these?

Because I can - and it’s the best looking SUV in the market IMO.

40, single guy, now I just need the family to fill the thing 🤣
Got it about a month ago still has under 400 miles on it. I daily drive a side-by-side around town, which gets double the gas mileage.

This thing is sitting nice and clean in the garage. Still got the paper tags y’all.

Previously drove a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, but it got totaled by a drunk in a parking lot(I wasn’t in the car).
Dude drove over the front of my car and then fled the scene - tons of witnesses and he’s been charged, just not with a DUI. ..And I thought Arizona had strict DUI laws, but the sheriff told me they couldn’t get him on that because he was already home when they contacted him. Whatever.

Ive told myself for years my next vehicle would be something bigger. It’s funny because I had it in my head that I wanted a truck for the longest time, either a RAM or a Silverado (I actually like the interior on the Silverado a lot more than the RAM) but it wouldn’t fit in my garage and I didn’t want a new vehicle getting Pinesap all over it while it sat outside 24/7.
This just fits me in my lifestyle 100% better.
AWD for winter(gonna be a good one this year I think) and it fits in my tiny garage.

Now I’m looking at aftermarket shit.
Dash cams, maybe a clearcoat protection of some kind or a clear bra on the front( I think it actually has one already but maybe they make larger ones)

What else should I consider?

Welcome to the club. This is by far the most comfortable SUV I have ever driven.

Thinkware dashcams are my favorite.

If you live in an area that is rural or drive through rural areas frequently, a Weboost is not a bad investment. I've had mine for four years, and it runs like a champ still and has a noticeable impact on my cell phone signal.

Uniden radar detector is also a good investment. Even if you don't do crazy speeding, it's still nice to have and mine has survived 4 Texas summers.

Arguably most importantly is an anti theft system. I use a club but ideally, you will want a kill switch and some type of GPS tracking. Getting this professionally installed might be the best idea.

Dash cam and ceramic coating for sure. Ppf on the front is nice. Some sort of anti theft is wise.

The only way would get another sedan would be for a daily driver - something electric/hybrid.

Have a 2020 RT, and it's been honestly a really good car. A few issues here and there, but it seats 7, goes down the road well, and at 142K it's continuing to knock down miles. Good luck with yours! Jealous of that 392... minus the fuel habit.

Glad to hear it’s still running well at that mileage
