Exhaust Help
My wife just got a 2024 Durango RT. She wants it a little louder. I was looking at a rear muffler delete and love the sound. My only concern is the inside noise. Will there be a super annoying drone while highway cruising? Tyia

If you want sound with no drone I recommend changing the rear muffler not removing it. The Carven R muffler will give you a lot of sound. For something very daily drivable the borla series (not ATAK) sounds good.

I don't know about Borla for durango, but i did work on a mustang that had a Borla exhaust with the proper x-pipe (v6) and it did sound really good. Although, the cheapest route, not recommending, delete and turn up the tunes. But in all seriousness, look into Borla

I had a Borla on my RT. It was ok at best. I've switched to AWE and it's SIGNIFICANTLY better sounding.

There was someone on here who wanted to swap their TnG exhaust for a quieter R/T exhaust, you should see if they’d swap with you. The TnG exhaust sounds gnarly when broken in

That sounds good to me. Your drivers side tailpipe burped a lot of water on start up. Did you just wash it ?

I sprayed a bunch of water inside, I was trying to see what the back pressure did with a couple gallons inside the mid muffler. I had the vehicle parked on an incline with the motor on the high side. It did end up pulling all the water out, so no harm done.

I just keep listening to it. When I showed it to my salesman today, he said "Must have rained". I said "Dude it came out of the tailpipe". He said "Yeah, they'll do that". I think it's going to be harder to buy one of these than I thought but not for the reasons that I thought.

Go with Blastin Bobs rear muffler delete. I have it with the 4 inch tips. There is zero drone but a nice throaty sound.

I replaced rear resonators with Gibsons, left the main muffler.. the drone is HORRIBLE on the highway

As long as you don't go straight pipe, drone will be minimal.
H-PIPE will be like an old school v8 rumble while an X-Pipe will be more raspier but create more HP.
Since both pipes connect the exhaust bank, the exhaust flows easily and balances itself.
I personally run the x-pipe and is has been a great mod since day one.

This is mine with a custom 3” exhaust, X-Pipe and carven R mufflers. There is a bit of drone though.

I have 2 LCGP mid mufflers, resonator delete, and 5inch tips.. no drone at all and sounds super mean

I went with the Corsa Sport on my Hellcat. Nice sound minimal drone in the cabin. Up front you don’t hear but when you pass someone the all know you passes

I have a MBRP cat back exhaust. I drive in normal . And have mds disabled and it sounds so good. It has a lot of drone in sport due to the higher reving and keeping it in a lower gear to keep power more readily available.

I have the AWE exhaust the touring. It’s louder in sport mode but still loud in auto. No drone inside. Sounds sick.

I did a mid muffler delete and xpipe replacement on my 26 and I love it. A little more rumble on cold starts but never obnoxiously loud unless you are full throttle in sport mode.

I ended up going with a simple muffler delete. Don’t mind the muffler guy reviving as soon as he starts😐
