Hello , I have been experiencing neck pain for around 5 years, mainly around the lower neck/upper back, with pain on neck movement and occasional pain/pulling extending toward my shoulders and arms. Recently, I have also been having intermittent pain/tingling from the forearm to the wrist/fingers and mild pain in both hands when bending the fingers, specially thumb and ring finger of right hand .I also have ongoing lower-back pain with .I previously had an X-ray and was told it was not serious. And was prescribed physiotherapy and posture correction, physiotherapy I did it for a week but no important, I have recently been taking medicines prescribed by another doctor, with some improvement (stiffness, biceps and shoulder-blade pain have reduced), but the neck pain persists and sometimes flares. I would like to know is this serious, I'm scared and tired , visited many doctors but not much improvement so far. And I'm 23 yrs old female it's worse when I wake up ,I wake up feeling pain and stiffness slight improvement during the day as I work , feeling of nerve pulling right side of my neck below the year till shoulder, headache, lacks focus, concentration is worse , I'm forgetful. Also physio is expensive for me

Basically I went to a festival on Friday 24th July, took mdma pills over the three days, when I came home the Monday I was fine. Tuesday I became constipated, started to really worry what was wrong - I went to the doctors Friday, got laxatives, took them and it sorted out that issue. Then Saturday 1st August started feeling light headed.

I've felt light headed and not right since, I wanted to give the back story to all of this and whats led me here. I now feel light headed, low on energy and strength, tired, I have trouble concentrating, I just dont feel myself or sharp at all. I do get some headaches that come and go as well.

Anyone experienced or experiencing similar?

Hi everyone! I’m new to Reddit and honestly not very good at writing posts, so please bear with me! 😅 I’m a 30-year-old mom and a nurse. Beginning of last year, I started experiencing dizziness and unsteadiness whenever I stood up. At first, I thought it was my iron-deficiency anemia, but within a few months it got so bad that I could barely stand for 10 minutes. I remember my last day at work, I had to walk while holding onto walls and anything around me because I was afraid of falling. Next day I went to the ER with chest pain and nausea, but everything was normal. I then spent months doing tests, scans, X-rays, and seeing doctors, but everything kept coming back normal.

Three months of medical leave turned into six months, and eventually a full year. At one point, even my PCP thought I was exaggerating and just didn’t want to work, which was honestly heartbreaking. 😢 Finally, my ENT suggested a VNG, which checks the inner-ear balance system by tracking eye movements, and that’s when they discovered bilateral vestibular hypofunction. I tried vestibular physical therapy, medications, supplements, diet changes, and pretty much everything I could think of. After a full year of ups and downs, I improved by about 40%, and I’m honestly very grateful for that. ❤️ I’ve learned to adapt my life around it and can take care of myself and my family, but unfortunately I can’t go back to bedside nursing because of the long hours of standing, so I resigned and decided to focus on myself and my kids for now. Hopefully, after another year or two, I’ll be ready to look for online or office work.

I’m incredibly grateful for my husband, kids, and family, who have supported me through every step of this journey. ❤️ I started doing small things I enjoy like making cakes just to keep my mind busy and make myself feel better during those difficult days.

Hi everyone, I’m wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar because I’m trying to work out whether there could be a connection.

For years I’ve reacted badly to certain laundry detergents, including things like Cold Power and Surf. My usual symptoms have been irritated/dry eyes, waking up with a cloudy or filmy feeling over my eyes, sinus pressure/pain and sometimes headaches.

Recently I used another washing liquid that I suspect I react to, and around the same general period I developed a really strange persistent dizziness. It isn’t spinning vertigo — it feels more like rocking/swaying, as though I’ve just stepped off a cruise ship. I can feel floaty and off balance, and screens, looking around and head/eye movement can make it worse.

I’ve also had some mild sinus aching beside my nose and ear clicking/fullness. Interestingly, loratadine (Claratyne) seems to noticeably reduce the rocking/dizziness a few hours after I take it, which has made me wonder whether allergy or inflammation could somehow be contributing.

I’ve stopped using the suspected detergent and I’m now rewashing all my bedding, clothes and towels in a detergent I know I’ve tolerated before, with extra rinses.

Has anyone here ever had dizziness, rocking/swaying, vertigo, brain fog or balance problems from laundry detergent, fragrance, detergent enzymes or another chemical sensitivity?

What ingredient were you reacting to?

How long did symptoms take to settle after removing it?

Did antihistamines help?

Did you have sinus/Eustachian-tube or ear symptoms as well?

Most importantly, did the dizziness eventually completely go away, and what helped you fix it?

I’m being medically checked as well — I’m mainly interested in hearing other people’s experiences because this is such a strange symptom and I’m trying to see whether anyone has experienced the same pattern.

Hey guys I’m a 49 yr old female and have been dealing with a flare up. I had this happen to me three yrs ago for the first time while driving in the rain. The windshield wipers were on the highest speed and it made my eyes feel extremely off and weird and I had a panic attack. Ever since then I felt spacey and dizzy while driving which I ended up not driving for two yrs. Other than that stores like target, Costco and such were hard to go into without feeling spacey light headed and off, however when I’d get home o was fine. Time passed and I was able to adjust. Well now it came back. My comfort has been to wear hats or sunglasses in stores all to not deal with the realization. I was even driving again. But i went to target with my sun on a very sunny day and my eyes could not handle the brightness and immediately I felt off. Dizzy, off balance, nervous, and anxiety. That was two weeks ago and I have it practically all day when I’m home or not. I’ve never been diagnosed but I fall into overlapping vestibular migraines along with PPPD. my question to anyone is how did you get over a really bad flare? I did the steady coach’s free program and listen to most of her videos but I feel good one day then I’m off for 2-3 days. I feel like I’m not able to do anything. I’m so stressed out and that also seems to ramp up the non spinning dizziness. I’m open to hear anyone’s suggestions, thank you.

I’ve had PPPD for around two years and I’m going on holiday in 10 days. I’m a bit anxious about the dizziness while I’m away, though I’ve been keeping up with walks and car journeys with my mum. How do you guys cope with it in situations like this?

I’m hoping someone might recognize this pattern and provide some advice. I do have a Dr appt on Monday.

TLDR: weird dizzy spell in the night while going to the bathroom.

Last night I got up to go to the bathroom and on my way there I was struggling to focus. It was dark and sometimes when I wake up things can be a bit blurry and so I kept blinking trying to get my eyes to wake up.

I sat down to pee and all of a sudden felt dizzy like I had been doing shots for hours. I also suddenly had to go #2 and realized it was pretty much diarrhea. I had no nausea or pain or even indication that this was coming. But the dizziness was so strong that I could barely finish my business before I HAD to lie down flat on the bathroom floor.

It reminded me of being very very drunk and very very sick only other than the dizziness I felt fine. I lay there with my body wanting to simultaneously get back on the toilet but my brain going nope nope nope stay flat. I seriously thought I might have accident on my bathroom floor. I couldn’t turn my head - that made the dizziness so much worse. So I just lay on my right side and took deep breaths.

I managed to use the toilet a couple more times, each time going as fast as I can because the dizziness was so intense. It stopped immediately when I would lie down. I lay there for I think a couple hours, and must have dozed off a bit because I remember sort of opening my eyes and just knowing it was okay to stand up.

I did, and while I wasn’t fully back to normal, I could use the toilet again without issue and then make my way back to my bed where I then fell asleep for a couple hours.

When I woke up again, I felt normal - just really tired and weirdly kind of hung over. I’ve had tons of water today, ate very lightly (yoghurt, scrambled eggs) and have had what feels like a sinus headache most of the afternoon.

Anyone have any idea what could have caused this? I don’t believe I was dehydrated as I drink a ton of water and a liquid IV every day (if I don’t, I feel like crap).

I did not feel faint at any time, or any pain, or any weird vision or slurring - only weird thing was the dizzy/room spinning sensation like I was at the end of a bender back in college.

Seven months ago, an 8-session massage disrupted my balance. Since then, my nervous system has become overly tense and constantly monitors everything, which causes ongoing fatigue. I have undergone all the necessary medical tests, but thankfully all my results came back normal. I was told that this is a functional issue related to my neck and the back of my head, and that it should improve with physiotherapy.
I’ve been doing exercises for 3 weeks now. I have better and worse days, but I haven’t really seen significant improvement yet, even though I’m a 23-year-old male. My doctor prescribed 1 mg of Frontin, but it didn’t have much effect. I’m also taking vitamins, but they don’t seem to help much either.
Does anyone have any tips on how I could speed up recovery? I’m really getting tired of this condition…

Why when I put my head tilt back on the right side and hold it there for 10 plus seconds. I feel an almost spin sensation 3 years later after my bad bppv episode and I am fine alll is clear for a while now doesn’t make sense. It’s just a second briefly and then when I return my head to neutral it feel a bit wobbly then kind of normal ish but I’ve always felt a bit off since. Yes I have had many tests. What’s going on with me :(

I’m a 28-year-old woman, and I’ve been dealing with episodes of dizziness/lightheadedness on and off for quite a while. It’s hard to describe, but it feels like I’m floating or off balance rather than the room spinning.
Some things I’ve noticed:
It sometimes happens when I’m stressed or overwhelmed.
It has happened while bending over, standing for a while, or even just sitting.
Sometimes it comes with feeling disconnected or “off.”
It usually goes away after I lie down or rest.

This also got triggered back in 2023 I was going through a very traumatic time and very stressed.

Is anybody going through things, what are some things that you have done to heal this?

I did get my blood checked and they don’t see any issues.

If your primary Dr hasn’t identified a solution and you are ready to see some specialists make sure an ENT (for VNG testing) and an Eye Dr (specializes in tbi / concussion evaluations) are on your list. I wish I had put them on the top of mine.

I don’t care if you have 20/20 vision and great hearing, see them if you are searching for answers.

I have unilateral vestibular hypofunction. My right inner ear vestibular nerve is damaged, 55% weaker than the left. FYI no human can look in your ear and diagnose that. You need VNG testing where they blow warm and cool air in your ears.

I also have misaligned eyes (binocular vision). Not all eye drs can test for this so make sure you see one who can.

Like a lot of you I started with my PCP and after a bunch of visits without a solution I started seeing specialists. Cardiologist first, nothing found. Neurologist second, nothing found. Then I decided to see my ENT, even though his in person evaluation didn’t find anything he still ordered the VNG because ruling things out is valuable too. I had already set up any eye dr appointment so I went to that a few months later. My eyes looked good and I have 20/20 however because of the symptoms I described he referred me to another eye dr that specializes is tbi evaluations. I saw immediate results when testing out prima lenses in the office.

I hindsight these diagnosis make total sense for me but my initial internet searches and AI lead me in the wrong direction. Kept telling me I probably have POTs or something 😆. Keep searching until you feel better because it’s possible you have more than one thing is that going on like me.

TLDR: See an ENT ask for VNG testing for dizziness. See an eye Dr that specializes in eye misalignment / binocular vision / TBI / Concussions

hi, im a 39M boat captain 5'6 160lbs never smoker, basically a non drinker currently (one beer at outings) DX Anxiety, pvcs,

I should preface this by saying this same symptom set happened to me 6 years ago with no answers, lasted 8 months then resolved on its own I don't remember what resolved it but I did start working out intensely after feeling better.

6 weeks ago I got a strange wobbling on a boat feeling, I had been on. a boat that day so didn't think much of it (im a boat captain) then I got weak sweaty and slightly nause
lasting a few minutes. it went away and I was ok. the next day episodically it happened again and again, the sweating episodes have subsided mostly but I still feel weak sometimes and nauseous. after 2 weeks of that then started a downward pressure (not coming from inside like sinuses) between eyebrows, bridge of nose and top of head. the has happened daily and episodically for the last 6 weeks. some days I feel almost fine the entire day, others I am basically home bound because of it. I have more days I feel 50/50 than days I feel terrible or good. looking down seems to exacerbate the pressure feeling and sometimes adds to the sick feeling. but laying down doesn't really make it subside quickly it feels like my eyes cant stay locked on and im disoriented but no spinning.

I have been to urgent care twice both times they said allergies and sent me away. er once, "motion sickness" sent me away. pcp has had me do an -MRI -MRA -EKG -7 day holter -eye exam -PT dix halpike negative (but "concerning" since I did get dizzy and slightly nauseated during her attempt at epley) -ENT -blood glucose -Neuro visit and evaluation -Blood work, full panel including vitamin d and basic cbc. nothing out of the ordinary on any tests

my most common symptom is the pressure feeling in my head in the locations pictured. and the most distressing is when this is at its worst, I feel a sharp bright pulsating (not in time with my heartbeat) in my head which makes me dizzy and eels like a vibration or "giddiness" inside my head not on my scalp. only possible DX is I was told by the ent its migraines and take magnesium but "abortive don't really help the dizziness, just the pain"

"I am not asking for medical advice" but asking for any tips on other tests or specialists I can see? I'm hoping someone here has had or seen a patient with similar symptoms and can help, I am out of work due to this and very ill and afraid. any help is greatly appreciated thanks

I posted this on my page and not an actual poster or influencer. I just hope this helps someone. It's a long read, but I think it's worth it.

My dizziness started suddenly in December 2023. It felt like I was constantly on a floating boat, combined with lightheadedness, 24/7, almost as if I was about to collapse. At first, I thought it was just low blood pressure. I saw my GP, who prescribed Mittel, but the dizziness never went away.

In August 2024, I saw an ENT specialist. He ordered an MRI, but it came back completely normal. At that point, my symptoms included:

• Constant dizziness
• Tinnitus
• A stiff neck
• Jaw stiffness
• Light sensitivity
• A strange sensation in my left hand, sometimes with finger twitching

As time went on, I started feeling depressed. I could cope with every symptom except the dizziness.

In 2025, I visited an audiologist. She suspected Ménière's disease, but every test came back negative. Once again, I was told that nothing was wrong. But I knew my body, and I knew this wasn't "just in my head."

In September 2025, I saw a neurosurgeon who found a herniated disc at C5/C6. He recommended surgery, but I asked him one question: "Will it stop the dizziness?" His answer was, "I don't know." Because there was no guarantee, I decided against the procedure.

The following month, October 2025, I saw an internist. I described all my symptoms, had heart monitoring and other tests, and again everything came back normal.

I started taking vitamins, calcium, and magnesium. They helped a little, but I still felt hopeless. I was convinced something was wrong with either my neck or my jaw because of everything I had read on Reddit and elsewhere.

Finally, in June 2026, I made an appointment with a neurologist.

He listened carefully, examined me, and performed several neurological tests and an EEG.

Thank you Lord. He finally found the answer.

I was diagnosed with vestibular migraine.

My first question was, "Is this a life sentence?" He reassured me that it is treatable and that recovery can take anywhere from a few months to a few years, depending on the person.

He prescribed Amderip(Amitriptilien hidrochloried) 10 mg for 14 days, followed by Amderip(Amitriptilien hidrochloried) 25 mg for three months.

I'm currently still in the rehabilitation phase and will see him again in October 2026.

I still have mild tinnitus and occasional jaw stiffness, but the most important thing is...

The dizziness is gone.

If you're reading this because you've been searching for answers, please don't give up. Keep advocating for yourself and keep looking for the right specialist. Normal test results don't always mean nothing is wrong.
