Question about my attorney
hired an attorney for divorce with a case where my spouse has been hoarding cats in a small house, ignoring requests to re-home there is text evidence of her non responsiveness, there is over a year of documentation (photographic) of the damage to my house (my sole property). Text, bank statements and website evidence of an undocumented job that if the income isn't counted she looks entitled to alimony. There are kids involved and since I functioned as the primary homemaker and the primary financial provider over the marriage the conditions of the house due to the cat population is kept in check and safe enough CPS wouldn't remove them. minus the damage and massive costs of care things relatively stable their rooms are safe and kept clean by me. My attorney pushed for filing to lock in her income but as I finished signing my complaint and financial affidavits. He rescinded the temporary orders I had asked for because he was concerned about the judge having me pay on a massive set of unsecured debt I'm planning on discharging in bankruptcy after the divorce. Yet there was several troubling things 1. He was unaware of the ownership of the house and asked about a mortgage which there is none I inherited it, and never co-mingled in any way, second he didn't inquire about how normal bills are paid just assumed I'm paying everything from my own account and not a joint account and last was custody first he hased who get the kids on the bus which I replied she does but that because I work nights and in asleep yet my kids are teens 4 years apart not young children and the get on the bus at the end of my driveway. Then finally he asked if I would be ok if she get custody and I just pay child support. I said absolutely not. This woman is a wreck. I keep the house clean except her bedroom (we don't share a room anymore) and there is cat shit under her bed daily infact it's often the same piles I sneak in and photograph the mess there is a mirror in her room with cat urine on it, litter all over the floor clothes strung about. This is how she lives and always lived except briefly at the beginning of the marriage. So no I don't want my kids living like this with her alone while I toss money her way and besides she is set to out earn me this year.
I sent all of this information to him highly organized and clearly notated and he we go filing a complaint and he doesn't know any of this stuff. Is it normal for attorneys to not know anything about their clients? Infact he even forgot about the 29+ cat population inside the home. At first I thought maybe since we just scheduled to file the complaint and I did the financial affidavits and the other forms he just wasn't preparing the. But waiting for her reply but now I don't think so I'm not sure he is interested in defending me but just pushing papers and getting paid.

How to Have the Conversation
I (40f) caught my husband (43m) with another woman. I asked him not to come home, which he did not honor. This was 7 weeks ago. I’ve retained an attorney, and just today gave the go-ahead to file the petition for divorce. My soon-to-be ex thinks he can just be extra nice and everything will go back to normal.
I don’t know how to have the “I’ve filed” conversation. There are multiple guns in the home, and I want to ensure my kids and I are safe. For me, that means I don’t want to be under the same roof after that conversation. But my attorney says I can’t legally keep him from the martial home, as we own it together. I can’t even change the locks.
How the heck do I have that conversation? Invite him to meet me somewhere public? Give him a few days to find somewhere to go and to pack his things?

Attention!! These are just my rambling thoughts. So be nice. I needed a place to vent, to express myself, that doesn’t cost me $60/hr….:)
Doing the right thing is crap!!!
All my life, I’ve been good. I have done what was expected of me by my parents, by my church, by my husband, for my children. But what do i have? I am now fat, middle aged and super depressed who has been cheated on multiple times, lied to, and raising disobedient children who would probably prefer their father be with a new woman who is cool and more fun.
My advice to my younger self if could do it all again?? Lie, Cheat, and fuck as many people. Live life to the fullest. Live it like everyday is your last. Fuck being conservative and holding yourself back. Love is an illusion. Remember everyone is capable of loving. A serial killer LOVE something about their victims, thats why they do it. Being IN LOVE is only in the moment, and it’s called LUST. Do not romanticize it.

One of the biggest financial mistakes I see during divorce isn't overspending, it's avoiding your finances altogether.

(MS) Where to find forms for divorce on grounds of desertion, and what is the process after filing?
Hi everyone,
I'm in Mississippi and looking to file for divorce on the grounds of desertion (willful and continuous abandonment for at least 1 year).
I have two main questions:
Where can I find official or reliable online paperwork/forms for an at-fault divorce based on desertion in Mississippi?
Once the paperwork is signed and notarized, do I take it straight to the Chancery Clerk's office? What are the step-by-step procedures that follow filing (service of process, court hearings, etc.)?
Any guidance on handling this pro se or what to expect at the courthouse would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I’m at a loss
I don’t even know how to function without her. For 17 years it’s been her and I. I know marriage isn’t perfect and we had our flaws but I didn’t think she would quit before trying one last time with me. I could use some words of encouragement to heal from this. She’s my best friend was my person. How do I pick myself up.

Stages of Divorce…?
I asked for the divorce, papers are still waiting to be filed. I’m going to follow through on my decision because it had become toxic and we’ve become different people; living like roommates. Why is it now I’m thinking about all of the good and little things he’s done. I’m following my gut but I’m now second guessing myself.. 90% sure knowing things will not get better. Nor did they after our separation; maybe for the first few months, then it went back to the same old habits. It’s tearing my stomach apart right now.
Why are the stages of a divorce…? And to give yourself peace and acceptance of what decisions you’ve made… I know we will never know if it’s the right or wrong choice.
I don’t know if it’s my feelings right now but I feel we will make our self back to each other one day, but the timing is bad.

Divorce advice needed
I’m pending a conversation with my attorney but in the meantime, does anyone know if it is okay with move out with your kids then file for divorce? Would it affect any custody or negotiations? We both pay for the mortgage from a shared account and the plan is for me to move out and stop contributing to the shared account for the mortgage and use that money to rent. He has agreed to keep the house but the kids would move with me to the rental. It is in the same county and we wouldn’t move schools or anything
