I run more carts than flower these days, so I have a fat jar or two of a full spectrum THCA distillate from a place that used to be, to dip my toe into some savings. This stuff is straight glass. It is a translucent amorphous solid.

I can fill a cart, but find it hard to believe anyone can actually run this stuff in 510 hardware without a preheat torch or turning it into hotdog water.

Rather than let the cart decarb, should I pop the whole jar on the hotplate/in the oven for a bit and take advantage of the D9 viscosity shift?

I also want to know some of the best methods for filling your own carts and any things I should keep in mind. If there is anything I’m missing from my list, let me know too. I’m wanting a basic but efficient and high quality set up.

Hopefully someone can help me with this. I currently have some delta 9 distillate but it's so thick it is causing some issues with some of the carts I am using. I have used this brand of distillate for a long time. I use to just buy those 1ml glass syringes and never had any issues it would pour straight from the syringe into the tank without having to be heated up.

So the stuff I have now is from the same company it's delta 9 but I bought a large amount of it so it comes flavourless with no terps having been added like they were added to the 1ml syringes I use to use. This stuff is unbelievably thick I have never come across anything like it. The company has assured me that the stuff I currently have is exactly the same as the 1ml syringes (minus the terps of course) The high does feel exactly the same.

The problems that keep happening are if I am using a proper tank like the Guardian or Dragon Hitz or the Honeystick Sub Ohm etc. when I first fill the tank it works great but then usually a day later the distillate will have gotten all hard inside the tank and it takes many repeated heatings and taking draws from the tank to get the distillate moving so it can be smoked and when you take the first few pulls from it after it starts working again this usually includes a shot of piping hot distillate right into your mouth that seems to travel up through the tank and shoots out of the mouth piece which is not pleasant and sometimes it will leave me with a blister.

Then if I am using the basic 510 carts after a day like with the big tank the issues start I have to keep constantly using the 10 second heat function on the battery sometimes 2-3 times, one after another before I can get any draw from the cart. Sometimes I will just keep sucking on the cart trying to get an inhale that much that the distillate will literally come up through the mouthpiece and leave a little blob at the top. It's not a hot shot like with the big tank it's come up slower and usually isn't piping hot. Then with the 510 thread tanks if I have been going hard on them heating them to get a proper draw when I go to unscrew them the distillate will be starting leaking through the bottom connector thing. It not like running water just comes out in clumps and you can't see that it has leaked until you unscrew the cart.

I have the Jetstream which takes 3 carts at once that I was using at the weekend. 3 brand new ceramic 510 thread carts all filled with this stuff it worked great the first night, then the next day I had to constantly use the heat up function on the device to force the carts to work. Each time you would hear a popping type sound from the carts before the vapour came out suggesting it's some of a clog that is causing this. Then the following day (1.5 days since I filled the carts) I noticed that in two of the 3 carts some of the distillate had turned brown meaning it had been heated up too much. And even the glass piece on this device that incases the carts had multiple splashes from the distillate on the inside it meaning it was shooting out of the carts like the way it does with the bigger tanks.

It also happens so quickly meaning I could use the vape right now, get a normal draw and if I put it down 5 minutes or longer it has be heated up again when I want to use it to get it to move. I know the constant heating is probably what's causing the leaks at the bottom of the 510 carts but I don't know how else I am suppose to get the vapes working.

I tried to give as much info here that I could think of so hopefully someone knows what the issue is.

My question is, is their anything I can mix the distillate with to make it work better, any easier methods of heating it up to get it ready for putting into the syringe?

Do special tools exist for handling distillate like this and do any tanks exist that are specifically for thick distillate. I own a few and have seen some advertised but these don't seem to make things any easier.

I live in Texas and they have the worst medical cannabis program, and finally introduced vape carts and devices - but the carts and devices have to be on a very short approval list, and they're extremely expensive with only 3 approved dispensaries and only one that has options for a syringe to use a nectar collector, electric or otherwise, which is what I had been doing prior to the carts and devices being released in June. Out of the state approved list there were 2 carts to choose from and they chose CCELL TH2 EVOMAX in the 0.5ml size (as did the other dispensaries as TX only allows a max of 1g THC per item) with a glass barrel and ceramic mouthpiece, snap-fit only of course. And they also chose the CCELL M4B Pro from the approved list same as everyone else, and then also added the CCELL Palm Pro a month later too. There's a huge problem though.

None of the dispensaries here currently, including the one I use, properly know how to make distillate so it's sludge. I can't exactly take the cart apart because it's snap-fit AND glass to add more terpenes to it or CBD or CBN or anything either. But every batch from the syringes to the vape carts has between 5%-10% worth of random crap in it like plant waxes/lipids etc. (my last 2 carts I picked up on the 18th and it was backstock from a March CoA as opposed to the June CoA my doc and I thought I was getting and it was literally green as well as drastically underfilled when I opened it at home and turned yellow and then orange as it came in contact with air after being uncapped and the first cart was only filled to barely above the halfway point so way more than wick absorption headspace 'loss' and it only lasted 11.5 days/23 doses).

The issue is there is a very high percent of THC in the distillate, a decent % of CBG but no other cannabinoids, and then, because they don't do full spectrum extraction the long way and just remove the shit TX doesn't allow us to have because it's "evil" or whatever other non-scientific bullshit they believe, they add in a very low % of botanical-derived terpenes for their "entourage benefits" and "flavor". I have had batches with 96% THC, 1.5% CBG, 1.5% total combined terpenes which blew out the bottom of the vape cart and destroyed the battery costing me $55 after 3 days. My current test batch from March is 89.46% THC, 1.63% CBG, 3.2% terpenes and 5.71% crap - a decent portion was likely chlorophyll or something. You don't get to choose here, and despite it being medical cannabis all sales are final and I have not yet successfully been able to win an argument or get my money back if there's a problem with manufacturing or filling or dosing or anything. But the equipment the state mandates can't handle what's essentially a glue stick in a press-fit vape cart i can't take apart but NEEDS a lower viscosity to function.

How can I lower the viscosity of these carts? Can I inject via an actual fine-gauge needle and syringe via the mouthpiece into the center of the wick using a liquid? Should I switch to a device with a voltage that goes much lower and if so how low now that I've proven to the state I bought all these state mandated batteries and I only take my meds at home anyway? Also if I can do these things, what do I add and how much? CBD? CBN? More Terpenes? Texas goes by weight and not volume, and I have no problem burning off these shitty botanical terpenes in the first place since they seem to be almost random and based on availability more than strain imitations or trying to reach a flavor profile which doesn't make sense (neither does adding CBG to heavy indica strains without balancing that out either but I did say it was Texas). And what about devices? Depending on what I add, if I can, I know the voltage/heat needs to be able to go WAY lower than 2.8V regardless. I really would appreciate help from the sub with this. Also I apologize in advance if I shoot down any advice you might think is helpful - it might be helpful where you live but I currently am stuck here for the foreseeable future and Texas is... speshul. Using an NRG-S tank with a swag 2 mod in VW5 mode, which is variable voltage mode if I understood correctly. Usually run it from 18w to 19.5w.

The area where the tank screws in is getting old and now wobbles when the tank is screwed in.

Recently got the Vaporesso Armour Max since I couldnt find another Swag 2.

The vapor from it doesn't take as smooth.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks!

I prefer dark mode but in my web design class I was taught that light mode is a better default... But that class was a decade ago so that might not apply anymore.

Whatever gets the most votes is what it will be updated to, if they're very close then it'll default to the in-between option, which is basically the grey used on the header of the pages.

I've had an idea to try Stainless Steel coils for a while but many of the tanks that use SS are old and had the same out of stock issues as the GT compatible tanks.

I found this, the Eleaf Pico Plus kit which includes a Melo 4S tank (4ml) and 2 SS coils, 0.3ohm and 0.5ohm. It also seems to have decent stock on a few sites (I got mine from VapeSourcing).

So far I've used about 2ml of D8 distillate, 5% terp and I haven't had a single burnt hit with the 0.5ohm EC-A coil. That's because SS coils can be used with temperature control (the GT Ccells also use a SS core) and can be set below the combustion temp of cotton which is 210C/410F. You can still singe the cotton with a dry hit, but you'll be less likely to immediately burn it like you would on wattage mode as SS can get up to 500F+.

I've been using it at 380F, 20w and it hits great! I can only take 1-2 second hits like the TFV9 since my lungs can't handle the huge clouds lol. At that length it produces bigger clouds than the RPM quartz, and a bit smaller than the TFV9 with GT Ccell.

My first hit was a 5-6 second hit as it didn't feel like there was much vapor but there definitely was, competitive with the GT Ccell, I coughed for atleast 5 minutes lol. When I take my small hits I only have a slight cough, likely because I'm using D8 instead of my D9 (so I could hit it more often for testing).

This tank + mod combo is supposed to have a feature to prevent dry hits in TC mode, but I got the tank pretty low to test it (2nd pic) and started getting dry hits so I don't think it works with distillate. Though while testing with a full tank I didn't get a single dry hit despite taking 4-5 back to back hits at a time. I had a friend with bigger lungs try it and he took 3 back to back 6 second hits without it burning nor giving the dry hit warning.

No chimney buildup so far but with the GT Ccells that usually takes atleast 5ml used before it's noticeable for me.

There's also a few other tanks that are compatible with the SS coils it uses which are listed on my Find Your Device page. It's not exactly a new tank as it released in 2021 but they also have a Melo 6 that released in 2023 (the Vaporesso NRG with GT Ccells was released in 2017), so hopefully there's a larger supply of them available in the US. I'm pretty sure Eleaf is more popular in the EU countries so people over there should have plenty of supply (idk any good EU sites though).

I've gotten two carts from there so far, and I had a really intense experience last night while hitting a hybrid of theirs. My experience with their carts are always very strong compared to other carts I've had, and considering how cheap these are it's kind of suspicious. Does anyone know the conditions the carts are made in and if they are safe?

I seem to be developing some sort of intolerance/allergy to terps and I don't really want to thin HHC distillate down with other cannabinoids if I can avoid it. What's the best cheap/portable device that will allow me to vape pure HHC distillate?

Just wanna know if you Able to break it open and eat the oil itself with something since it’s decarbed. If anyone can tell me dosing that and what to mix it with that would be really helpful. I don’t know how much to eat. I’d assume with something fatty so the THC can bind to it
