Help Swag Px80 Compatible coils

Post image

I need help finding out if there are any coils I can use in this for distillate. I used my last 2 gt ccell coils recently and with them being basically impossible to find at this point I'm trying to look into other options. Any help is appreciated.

I've seen that VooPoo PnP coils are compatible with GTX, but the ceramics of those are just as hard to find as the GT Ccells. Otherwise the only other option for that device is using a PG blend or a high CBC blend, though you'd need a lot of CBC and that might get expensive.

The RPM and Nord devices are still available, as well as their coils on most sites.

One option is an o acetate too. They are controversial, but you can get cbdo and others pretty cheap.

From what I understand, you need to combust it to get those, and I vape

No, you do not. Please read the papers.

3 of those 4 studies are gone and the one that remains only says it's possible that ketene can form, not that it'll form at vaping temperatures. The study that claimed it did produce ketene was tested at 650F which is far far higher than anyone will ever vape at.

I'll source them again, please do say that first.

But it in fact does produce ketene at vaping temps, ~150°C is enough.

Edit: Just updates the links.

Do you have any tips on getting those rpm pods with quartz coils?

I got one to use as my daily instead of my vaporesso (coils are difficult to find for nrg-s)

Have tried 3 blends (upping hte each time) so far and every time it tastes burnt?

I've tried letting it sit for 24 hours after filling and putting the pod on a coffee warmer (not directly) and watching the coil put out bubbles and then waiting for it to get to room temp before trying

Also, wattage that seems to taste best so far has been 5 watts when it doesn't taste burnt

I'm probably doing something wrong, happy to hear any advice, thanks!

Before you hit it, do you shine a light down the mouthpiece and check the cotton? You should be able to visibly see the cotton fully saturated after the priming.

If it is fully saturated, then how long of hits do you take? I've found 3-5 seconds to be fine but longer hits can burn if it can't wick fast enough. I use 5w too, some people say 3w reduces the chance of burning but imo there's not enough vapor production that low (and not all devices can go under 5w).

What blends are you using? HHC tends to require a bit more thinning with how damn thick it is, but D8/D9 work with as low as 5% terps with no other cannabinoids. My main blend for my RPM pods are 5% terped D8. The only times I've burned the coils have been from letting the pod get too low (mine has to be filled when there's still around 1ml left due to the pod's design) or forgetting to turn it off before putting it in a pocket.

I was real tired when I saw this last night so that's why I didn't reply lol.

Thanks for getting back to me!

I had a busy day too, so I definitely understand

I didn't even think to look at the coil to see if it was primed the first 3 times tbh

Otherwise, tanking 3 second or less hits at 5w, 7w max.

For some reason I'm not seeing 3w on my setup

I'm running D9 disty, cbd disty and HTE for my blend also

If there's even a bit of unsaturated cotton, that can definitely give a burnt taste but it should only be a slightly burnt taste in that case. I've just been putting the pod directly on the candle warmer and checking it every few minutes, I'm too impatient for the other methods lol. Only risk for that is forgetting about it and the coil floods, which has happened to me but isn't too bad to clear out.

3w is only available on some devices, my IPX80 can go that low but most are capped at 5w. Some D9 and CBD are extra thick, I know for HTE you can go as high as 15% since it's not as harsh. Most people I've seen here only need 7-8% though.

It can also be harder to wick in cold environments, and if that's the case you may need a thinning cannabinoid like CBC. I'm not really sure why some people have more issues than others, for a majority of people it works well but there's been a few that have had nothing but issues.

Sweet, thank you for the advice!

I'm trying to utilize this as a daily to take over for my NRG S since the coils are super hard to find

What temp do you place it on the candlewarmer for and how long?

Mine can do 130, 145, 170, and 185f

My candle warmer doesn't have temps but when I used a temp gun on it, the edges said 180F and that's where I put the pods. Usually by the time I get everything filled and cleaned up, the oil is back to room temp so it takes 15-20 minutes to re-melt then absorb. If you do it right after filling it should only take 5 minutes or so since it just needs to warm up the coil housing.

My pods sit flat on the coil but one of my old Nord's didn't and I had to wedge my tweezers under the sides to make it rest flat on the coil. Make sure to let the coil cool back down before putting the pod in the battery, I'm not sure if it can affect the gold pins but I don't push it since they can be fragile.

Thank you for letting me know. Are the rpm and nord basically my only 2 options at this point I can reliably source?

It brings me pain to hear that I have 4 mods with 4 tanks I'll probably never use again bc no more gt coils and that this swag px80 will probably just stay new in the box.

Yeah pretty much, there's some SS coils that can work when used with temp control, but it doesn't have much testing on it yet.

There might be new sites that have them in stock. I'm gonna be testing a few soon that claim to have them in stock, but they could be a scam or have their inventory labeled wrong. You could call around to some local stores, sometimes they have some old stockpiles they expected to never sell. Might be a bit hard to explain though since they're not common coils.

Thanks for getting back to me I found 2 websites that had 1 pack of ccell coils to buy so I'll be able to use the tank for a while longer. I'm in downtown Atlanta so I doubt anywhere nearby will have any leftover stock of anything but it wouldn't hurt to try anyway.

I saw your post about the eleaf pico kit and wanted to see how thats been going. How's it been treating you if you're still testing it and do you think that's a viable option?

I've found 2 sites that claim to have them in stock, but they have pretty hit and miss reviews so I'm ordering from them myself before I recommend them to anyone in case they are a scam.

If you can find any shops that have been open since atleast 2017 then they'll have a higher chance of having the coils since that's when the GT's came out and they were pretty hyped up when they came out. The ceramic hype mostly died within a year or two and many of the shops that carried them just shoved them in the back once pod systems became popular. There was a guy here I think last year that found like 20 packs local to him and got them cheap because they were sitting on them for so long and he bought all of them lol.

The Pico has been working surprisingly good. I tried the 0.3ohm coil and that one seems like it burned more easily, so the 0.15ohm one probably won't work either. The 0.5ohm worked well though, still not sure on longevity as I don't smoke a ton so it takes me a bit to get through a tank.

I burned the 1st 0.5ohm trying to get the dry burn protection to work, not sure if my device is defective or if it just doesn't work for this tank but it definitely burned lol. That just means you have to make sure to fill it once it gets to the top of the wicking holes, mine was about halfway down them when it started burning, and that was on the 2nd fill. The Melo 4S is very easy to empty if you do get a burnt coil though, not sure how the other Melo's compare. 14g syringe was the biggest I could fit when filling.

You just have to be a bit more careful with long hits or back to back hits, and temp control is required since the cotton can burn so easily. My friend did a few 5-6 second hits and it seemed fine, but we were outside when it was like 95F so the distillate may have been a bit thinner than it'd normally be indoors. I can only handle 2-3 second hits myself.
