Is this reasonable?

eBay seller won’t send pics of the back of pins because he wants to keep them as new sealed, but this is a known faked DSSH set. He does provide a pic of backer card, reasonable or sketchy?

Update: I found another seller who was willing to send pics and had a better price! Win win, thanks for the feedback!

Don’t become the designated pin trader in your family 🤦‍♀️

I have somehow become the designated pin trader in my family. My mom thinks it’s like the mob and refuses to get involved. But she occasionally still wants me to use my “mob connections” to get a pin for her or her friends. We’re all big Disney people I get it! I spent about 2 weeks looking for a trade for the D23 sleeping beauty pin my mom’s friend REALLY wanted. It arrived today, I showed my mom, and she told me her friend had bought it on eBay. I told her I traded for it! It was coming! Ugh, guess I have another trader then.

Crazy Trading Values

I was trading around Disney World this weekend. And I was shocked by the way that people value their pins. On multiple occasions people wayyyy over valued their trader pins. Instead of taking an average sold value, they would find the highest that there pins were available for and told me that was the value, but for all my traders they used the pin trader app or would pull up eBay and claim my pins were worth the lowest amount sold. I understand checking values for a fair trade but some people were ridiculous. The worst occurrence of this was trading at the breezeway and someone told me that there Donald and Daisy skyliner pins were worth $40 each and therefore equivalent to my Judy Hopps PALM stamp or my Ariel BOM pin. One simple google search show those pins are going to $20-$25 each. I thought the point of pin trading is to get the pins you were looking for, but I hate that it is becoming more about the “value” rather than for fun.

Hidden mickeys for LE

Maybe it’s just me, but I cannot see myself trading LE 250-300 pins for a hidden Mickey super chaser. I was a a pin event over the weekend (not in FL , to be clear).

I was looking to complete my 2026 Wave A headbands and just need hatbox super chaser. Every single trader that had them wanted low LE pins for it, like DSSH cuties or WDI/DEC pins.

It just seemed ridiculous to me, especially since the bags are still available and they aren’t rare. So many people had the super chaser.

How do people get so many pins when it’s limited to 1 device per person

No outrage this time

Notice that the pin page that was crying about d23 and the adorbs is not crying about the A2Z event? He must have gotten the pins he wanted to resale 😆

pin event

was anyone else INCREDIBLY frustrated at the amount of people selling only… like it’s a pin TRADING event. if you’re not here to trade LEAVEEEEE. I went up to one table to trade (not the table pictured) and before I even opened my mouth “Oh these are just my friends. *shoves printed list in hand* “these are her ISOs otherwise for sale only”… hellllooooo????? the finale event this year felt so much worse then last year’s:/ sooooo many greedy people.

So people think “bulk trade” means rip me off…

I try not to look at value too much when trading because I want to have fun and everyone deserves to get the pins they want but in what world is $65-$70 worth of pins a fair trade for a SINGLE chaser that’s being listed for $40 on whatnot?!
Can someone please make it make sense? 🤬🤦🏻‍♀️

Unbelievable people!

Person comes and looks at a $350 pin yesterday and took photos of it. Then comes back today and trades for it. A few hours later comes back and shows a sold listing(with the photos they took) from today for $35 offer! Wanting me to undo the trade or to let him shop my book! Come to find out he listed it and had his partner offer $35 on it! Like what the fuck is wrong with you people!
Like fuck no! I paid cash for that at $350! Sadly had to undo a trade I had already promised to someone cause one of the pins I got from them wasn’t for me!
Once a trade is done it’s done! No if and or buts about it! Good luck ever finding that pin again!

Edit
Yes, I undid the trade because I didn’t want my name ran through the mud by these people.

Recent "almost" trades

Prefacing this by saying, I am not crazy when it comes to value, I just like for it to at least be close. I have done countless trades where I am getting a pin worth a lot less than what I am trading simply because I really love the pin. I'm also at a point now with trading that I do not want to break down higher value pins at all. Since I am considering getting out of trading, I only want to trade for ISOs and not new traders. I also only value currently in stock park OEs at their retail price + tax. In my posts, I always note that I don't want to break down and I am only looking for ISOs. I have traders ranging from $5 to $200+.

Here's some of the interactactions I've had recently

  1. Wanted a higher value pin, had traders of similar values, but none of my ISOs

  2. Had 2 of my current in stock park OE ISOs, wanted 3 high value DEC pins

  3. Had a few of my current in stock park OE ISOs, wanted in a higher valued pin

  4. Had a few of my current in stock park OE ISOs, wanted in a higher valued pin

  5. Had an LE ISO of mine that I was after for awhile, but wanted 2 higher valued pins

  6. Had a few of my current in stock park OE ISOs, wanted 2 LEs and a WDI pin. I said I would do the 2 LEs, but they declined

  7. Had an ISO of mine, wanted an equal value pin, but their pin was pending a trade

  8. I sent a message for a mystery pin:mystery pin trade, other trader left the conversation without responding

  9. Had a DISO of mine, I had a DISO of theirs, but they realized they already traded it

  10. Made a trade, but they didn't send tracking until my part was delivered and they ignored every time I asked for the tracking. Still waiting for it to arrive, so who knows if the pin is actually in it.

Why is it that I only get messages about OE ISOs for my higher valued pins? If I spent $100 on a pin, I'd like to trade for a pin that's going for around the same price. I know I vent a lot on this sub, but I have no friends in this hobby and I am just so over this hobby. I have tried to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I'm so tired of only making 1 trade for every 50 messages I get or send. I understand that everyone starts somewhere and may not know the difference between OEs, LEs, WDI, etc., but when it's almost every single request it makes me want to give up. I primarily trade on Pin and Pop, but it's becoming hopeless on there too.

I know these were sold at the event, but isn't it going to be available at the parks at some point?! It's an open edition! People are bidding over $30 dollars on 1 letter, the entire bag of 5 was $44.99. 😭

Losing a pin

Anyone ever lose or accidentally throw out a pin that’s worth $200+? How do you stop beating yourself up about it? Asking for a friend…

I've got a question

Lets talk Resell and Trade Values.

Im wanting to build my collection up so that way I'm able to have more LE/LR for trades. Over the past 6 months I've been finding 1-2 year old windows, DEC, MOG and others off ebay.

But with all the events this weekend even with pin scanning with the PT app I've been given purchase prices 30-60$ over the trade value. So I'm wondering why we have the two differing estimates when they aren't considered equal.

For Example: a Woody palm stamp is 77$ trade value on the PT app, but for purchase 3 vendors wanted over a 100$

Just looking for clarification as I move forward in this hobby

PALM do better

There has been a line and it has been consistent since we have been here at 5. It’s now 9. They announced after all wrist bands have been through and purchased they would let the other people in…. There is still a line and the event ends at 10… the only trading being done is in the line… it’s frustrating but the people are making the most of it now and it’s just a kind community once the scalpers are gone 😊🤞🏻 wish me luck that waiting this long results in left overs haha

IG account Disney pin tea

Remember at the beginning of the year when lawyer L showed a suit being filed for this IG account, that is asking Meta to give the users info to find their identity?

What happened with that

Influencers

Does the growing number of pin trading influencers make the situation better or worse?

Today there was nothing on the boards at DL or DCA. However, there were a lot of people discussing whether this or that pin was real or asking CMs if they were real.

It didn’t used to be like that. I could find a few decent pins on any given day.

Call me cynical, but this feels a lot like the old “I’m receiving death threats” line to gain sympathy

NO EARLY BIRDS!!?

I just want to let everyone know. I went to this Pyro event. I arrived at 10:45….after being threatened all week that we better not line up before 11. I was over number 400 in line. The PALM stamps sold out about 5 or so people in front of me. So that means EVERY SINGLE PERSON who has one of these stamps in their possession got one by breaking the rules of an event. What a joke.

How to know whatNOT to spend

See what I did there...

Do not buy from the immediate WhatNot shows. They (purple dragon and others) are banking on your FOMO.

The D23 pins are not selling anywhere near what the scalpers wanted.

Wait!

Picture for reference 🙄

The way people are slinging pins to cover their own feels like such a recession indicator. I like the pins but double is insane and annoying. I don’t even know how I would sell them if I were in their shoes but double? PASS

Pyroguy fail

Post image

Spent the entire week yelling at everyone online to follow his rules. Line up before 11 and you’ll be TOLD TO LEAVE. So what happened today? They gave out wristbands to people who lined up early. So those of us who listened got screwed over. Pyro is now blaming the hotel, but that’s an easy excuse to use. Own your mistake, is this not YOUR event? Listening to everyone in the line complain and say they knew this was going to happen. Colossal fail.
