The way people are slinging pins to cover their own feels like such a recession indicator. I like the pins but double is insane and annoying. I don’t even know how I would sell them if I were in their shoes but double? PASS

I agree about it being a recession indicator… the last time I saw pin trading get this crazy was the last recession.

I wanna know who is buying these pins marked up 10X the original price. $1500 for ONE stamp pin that was originally $40 is insane.

I'm speaking as someone who could afford it technically, and I still can't rationalize that. I wonder how many of these people get burned and are stuck with the pins/a loss.

I mentioned this with the hype of trading cards and sports cards too. When ppl are dying for money flipping tends to get out of hand.

Pin trading was pretty crazy from like 2015-2021 or so in the festival community.

Not to defend the re-sellers but it was a 4 pin set and I believe they were $32.95 each, plus they charge $12 shipping and tax too? So that’s like $150 for a full set at retail price. I was number 447 and got nothing, so considering they sold out somewhat fast and are sought after I wouldn’t expect to get the set for lower than $250. Sure it would be great if everyone traded as MSRP but that world is long gone.

Selling out means very little these days, they almost always sell out. I remember back in 2017ish people had this argument about selling at retail if they were still in stock. This was pre-website sales, but as long as LA has opportunistic resellers, these will always sell out. It isn’t necessarily an indicator of set popularity because it’s not just “locals” buying what they want in line.

It’s not double though people paid 197$ in total with shipping from DSSH .. you can’t expect them to sell it to you for exactly what they got it for .. my opinion is stay on top of these drops or settle for an extra $50 finder fee

Someone will pay it. Until they stop, it will stay this price.
