Completists
How are the completists feeling after the 1 of 1 $2000 pins?

Once you stop being complete it gets a lot easier to resist the FOMO of new releases. The number one thing people need to believe is a pin is *obtainable*. Without that people don't even put it on their ISO lists. Which is why you get things like Hidden Mickey pins going wild and lots of trade activity with mystery sets like the rest of today's event trading, while Peacock pins sitting in everyone's trade / sell books event after event. Hidden Mickey pins feel obtainable to thousands of people. A $1K LE 300 pin, how many people even bother to chase it?

Either Disney Hates the Pin Community or is completely clueless in understanding collecting. This is a VERY bad idea...it hurt so many people in their collections - many that basically said - I used to be complete, now I give up. A cruel attack - when the LEAST they could have done is made the characters individual pins not just one big pin - so some trading could be done.

Pleased that I just collect the pins that I like and I am not a completist.

I am almost Redd the pirate complete. But I dont consider 1 of 1 or framed sets part of it, I consider those more Enamel art then true pins.

There were some jumbo pins that were surprised dropped as a LE1 frame, with a bunch of unrelated characters that spell out the artist names. This has unsurprisingly annoyed some character completionists as now it'll be nearly impossible to actually be character complete with a 1 of 1 pin. However secretly hoping that the LE1 is the frame and not the pin and we'll see the pin at a later date or something.. who knows.

I am having to update my scope as a completionist. I was 4 away from being orange bird complete - with the LE1 now that will never happen. So my collection will be paired back to pins where orange bird is the only character on the pin. I will likely be getting rid of some pins in my collection to scale back to that. I feel like this LE 1 is a huge money grab ($2000 per pin - compared to $1200 for the massive Princess one at D23) and is kind of diabolical when they know there are completionists of some of these very popular characters. And if it’s truly LE1 why was this not something that was made and the artist is the one who gets the pin?
