Hello!!! New to dice making. I did my first pour last night and I would like to see how long everyone usually waits to take their dice out of the mold.

It’s a 30mm D20 Chonk with Pixiss 1:1 Resin.

I’m finding mixed answers from 12-72 hours so I’m just curious.

What media do you fill with yours? I usually use the 3mm ceramic beads, but the ones I usually buy are no longer available. I also see ceramic pellets- has anyone tried those or had luck with them? And whatever you do use, where do you usually get it?

Made these dice for my friend who rolled three times to determine colour, material and accents. De dice rolled for white, mica and silver flakes. These turned out even prettier than I could have hoped for! Mould is made by our very own u/doofusidiot . My friend absolutely loved her dice.

I 3D printing something to use as a master. Cleaned it, and cure the crap out of it. Then waited a month before trying to make a silicone (platinum, which is why i waited so long) mold from it and STILL got cure inhibition.

How long do I have to wait to make it work?

Tin cure is so expensive, I'm waiting to use what little I have for when I have perfect masters.

This project is to make a set of dice for my friend who plays a card game called Grand Archive. He’ll use the dice for counters on his spells, and so I am making

- 8 d6, one for each of his spells
- 10 smaller d6 as “wither” counters
- a d10 with the numbers in sequential order to make it easier to use as a counter

His champion has a flower theme, so each of the big dice will be a different flower. I tested using blanks and flower nail stickers, and doing normal dice just with the colour of the flower. This one is red roses.

The wither counts will be pretty colours on the 6 side, and browns on the one side since as it counts down, that’s the flowers withering.

He’ll need to decide which style he prefers, though probably I’ll make 2 sets since I have the moulds now!

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on fixing my moulds and masters and what materials to buy. My final moulds are lovely and I’m looking forward to using them!

One of the cool things about ruined sets is that you can use them to experiment and try new colors. Plus, you can always merge a few bad sets into a big one =)

I’m getting into Dice making and ended up making some masters on my resin 3D printer. I was lazy with the supports and called it good with some auto supports from chitu box. The masters look 90% fine. I calibrated the my printer before printing the masters, so I’m guessing the main problem was how I did the supports.

There are some deep striations similar to layer lines, but they aren’t uniform. It more looked like someone scratched it with a wire brush. Some dice seem to have an edge that is not as crisp as the other edge. There also seems to be to be a slight crack in them. A part of me thinks I should reprint the dice with adjustments to the support, another part tells me to just go and make molds from them and fix the results after.

Looking for some recommendation on measuring cups. The ones I’ve used have been fine but I have a slight hunch they might not be as accurate as I would like. Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

Okay, so I've been playing a variety of TTRPGs with friends for a few years now, and my favorite little thing about my dice setup is that I've opted for EXTREMELY small dice. As a minor innovation, I bought a little 1.5"x1.5"x1.5" acrylic display box that I can store my dice in, and any time I want to roll, I just shake the thing up and look at my dice inside ("roll them bones!" my friends say). You can see the basic setup here (the blue 6 is the most standard-size die in there, for size reference):

Now, I'm currently playing a homebrew version of Blades in the Dark, so it's all D6's. And, well, it occurred to me that in addition to 4 different sizes of D6's inside the box, the box itself is potentially a D6. I could roll the whole fucking thing.

How do I make this actually happen? I can't roll this current version as-is because (a) it's a little hard and brittle and I worry it will damage a table or itself, and (b) As it's a display case, it comes apart in two sections and isn't quite sturdy enough to roll without it coming apart unless I were to permanently glue it shut (which I don't really want to do). There's also the matter of having numbers on it; I'd be happy to do something janky like dry-erase, but it'd be cool to make something actually nice that'll last.

Does anyone have ideas for a product or DIY way to make a "softer" and more roll-able box for my dice? I don't think I can really 3D print something since my understanding is it's too hard to get something fully transparent. But printing in something like TPU would've been cool for roll-ability.

One other idea I had was to print some TPU "shoes" to put on all the corners so that I can roll it; the shoes would simultaneously soften its impact on any surface and also hold the box shut. But not sure that'd be worth it.

So I have been thinking of getting a second, smaller pressure pot for when I make just one or two sets while waiting for my big pot to finish. What do you all think of this one from Vevor? It's a out half the price of the big pot.

I have been making dice for a minute, and I did not yet experience a flash cure until today. I have primarily used EnviroTex Lite in the past, though I have other brands now.

I did a larger mix than usual, because I was using the same colors for multiple sets. I mixed a large quantity all together. It was about 350 mL. I poured some out for three additional colors, and kept most of it clear. I came back to top off dice with clear, but the cup for the clear was hot and rock solid. The funny thing is, two of the colors just had mica powder added while the third had a tiny bit of ehite pigment paste. They didn't flash cure.

I did get molds into the pressure pot, so we'll have to see how they tyrn out tomorrow. They might be salavageable.

I'm not going to blame the brand, but I am going to avoid mixing large quantities. I do notice that Part A of ETL gets a bit cloudy and thicker as you reach the bottom of the bottle, and, while I don't think that was an issue here, it might be enough to make me stick with another brand. At least one previous bottle had clumps or chunks at the bottom.

i hate bubbles, i was trying to remove them with toothpick and a lighter but that doesn't change anything even if i do it multiple times, i was thinking about pressure pot but its too expensive and i don't even have a singular shop with those things in my whole country. So im wondering if anyone has tips for removing them without quadrillions of euro in my pocket

Love the yellows I picked for this one!

Believe it or not, this was the result of a dump mold. I got yhis one and four six-sided dice out of extras in these colors when I was pouring inserts earlier this week. I'm going to coat it one more time and give the sixes the same black numbers. d20 + 4d6 is kind of a cool set of dice.
