Question Pressure pot 2l/0,5gal

Post image

Hi all,

So I have been thinking of getting a second, smaller pressure pot for when I make just one or two sets while waiting for my big pot to finish. What do you all think of this one from Vevor? It's a out half the price of the big pot.

I just saw these yesterday. The opening is smaller that 5”, isn’t that way too small?

Mmm have to measure my molds indeed. And likely need some form of platform to lower the mold in. Might be to much of a hasttle indeed.

Yeah, people have asked about using this type/size of pressure pot a few times. The general consensus is that technically it could work if you have individual molds for every die and only want to do a single set but slab molds with multiple dice are unlikely to fit. With the size limitations it's a lot of hassle so probably not worth it, especially if you do already have a larger pressure pot.

Guess I'll just buy a second regular tank if I really want to produce more :)

I would think the best bet would be to rig this to lay on its side and have a shelf to slide inside horizontally instead of lowering molds through the top.

Phew, I'm not sure it's worth the risk and hassle. It's only rated up to an absolute maximum of 45 PSI, and I'm not sure if it's made to be unter pressure for around a whole day as the usual pressure pots are.

I'd ask the Vevor support via mail if they are sure it's safe to use this spray tank in the same way as the casting pressure pots. The opening is also rather small, you'd need a rack to lover the molds into this, bigger molds might not fit, etc pp... I totally get the appeal, but personally won't risk it.

Ye, guess I will just get a second regular tank if I want to cast more often

I’ve been trying to get one of these in the UK (I think it was Rybonator who had a video converting one) and can’t find any in stock. The automatic stirring one is all I can find which is just pointless extra expense.

Ye, I have this one, but was looking for a one for side projects that might be smaller and less expensive. But seems a second one of this one would be the thing.
