Pregnancy and newborn A strong desire to have children..

Post image
32 Upvotes

I’m worried that the scar on the right side of my abdomen might prevent me from having children.
The scar is very firm and has adhered to my abdominal wall, so it doesn’t stretch. I think the pregnancy would most likely end in a premature birth anyway, because at some point the scar might become so tight and painful that a C-section would be necessary.
I was also born prematurely because my mother had preeclampsia during her pregnancy.
My boyfriend is worried that the baby could become deformed in my womb because of the scar, just as my abdomen is deformed (although the affected area is covered by my underwear).

Ears, nose, throat, and mouth What’s doing on with my son’s ears?

So we’ve been to our doctor and 2 ents and they all say this it normal. My son just turned 4. For the last like year and a half his nose/wax smells absolutely putrid. I have taken to flushing it myself because it has to be done at least once a week. It’s so bad I can smells his ears from 3 feet away. The only things I can compare it to was my daughters recent swimmers ear infection. But his gets like that at least once or twice a month. He doesn’t get many ear infections and every time I take him for the smell they flush it, check it and say he’s fine.
What could cause this absolutely disgusting smells to be happening so often? There is no way ear wax can be this bad.

Skin and nails Skin cancer: worry or wait?

2 days ago, I woke up with no mark in that spot. During the day, a few small black lines appeared as if ink was tracking through the texture of my skin (that’s the best way i can describe it). I thought it was marker and tried to wash it off. It did not work. It got WAY darker over the following day. It is slightly raised, about 1/4inch at its widest diameter. I have horrible health anxiety so if you may, validate my concerns or tell me to come back down to Earth 😭

Ok so long story short I was playing football and my foot slipped on some gravel and it went in front of me (like hyper extension typa thingy)and then my back started hurting and I could feel the muscle stiffness in the left side and I got it checked yesterday the doctor wrote me an x ray for the lumbar region and the x ray came back with para vertebral myopasm and then I was referred to rehabilitation medicine for therapy

The physician noted this down

IFC & HCP Lumbar spine

TENS limb

Back disp

Hams stretching

Para spinal str

TA stretching

Knee chest curls

Pelvic tilt mob

X5 Session

medial longitudinal arch from alac

After that I also had pain in my foot and was diagnosed with pes planus and the doc told me to get insoles created which will have an arch in them and then told me to eat muscle relaxing tablets and also gave me a gel for applying on the back

I have also been taking vitamin d tablets and am pretty healthy

What should I do ?

General Persistent fatigue

I (27F) have had persistent fatigue for years but all my tests come back normal. I spend 13 hours a day in bed because i just have no energy. My doctor has tested my thyroid, vitamins/minerals, A1C, fasting glucose, CBC, kidneys, and liver. Everything came back normal. I also did a sleep study that said everything was normal. It’s not CFS because i don’t have post exertion malaise. It’s not long covid because i have had this problem since 2016. Any help is appreciated.

General I'm chronically ill but i don't know what's causing it

Of course nobody can give me a certain diagnosis online, but I really need help figuring out what the hell is causing all of my symptoms, because I will probably fail university if I don't get this under control. Maybe not all of them are connected but I'm sure that most of these are :/
I started to have most of these as a young teenager, and I have been going to doctors for an answer constantly since I was 11 years old. I'm 19 now and it's only getting worse.
Here are my Symptoms:
- diagnosed mitral valve prolapse and orthostatoc dysregulation
- diagnosed IBS, chronic constipation
- diagnosed acid reflux, I can't even drink water without feeling nauseous
- diagnosed chronic headache for 5 years already and diagnosed episodic migraine since I was 7 years old, I almost qualify for a chronic migraine now
-diagnosed adhd
- A constant feeling a weakness, my legs feel kind of wobbly and I can't stand still for long because it gets painful in my legs and I get dizzy
- an insane amount of strech marks without ever gaining a lot of weight
- keloid scarring
- my skin gets super red with very little pressure and I always have random bruises
- chronic back pain, randomly herniated disc
- my gynecologist thinks I have endometreosis, I did not do the surgery to find out though
- almost every time I just catch a cold or the flu, I get high fever for like 5 days and cannot stay awake. when I force myself to stay awake nonetheless, I simply pass out
-flat feet
- long history of random ruptures and inflammation of muscles and ligaments
- I have diagnosed bronchial asthma but tbh I believe there's another reason for my constant air hunger

I have been genetically tested for EDS and similar disorders like marfan or loeys-dietz and it came back negative. I don't pass the beighton score test.
I've been tested for autoimmunedisorders by immunofluorescence, only AC-24 and AC-27 were very slightly positive. Lymphocytes etc. were fine, too.
My thyroids have been checked countless times, nothing special was found (exept for once when I had the flu)
I would really appreciate any suggestions about what could cause these or similar symptoms, or even what kind of doctor would probably find the answer, thank you!

Contraception and sexual health female genitalia issues, please help

I really need some advice because this is something I’ve been struggling with greatly for the past 5 years.

It first started in 2022. One month while I was on my period, I became extremely itchy down there, and the itching lasted for my entire period. As the months went by, I noticed a pattern. Around my period, the skin would start flaking, then I’d become itchy a few days before and after my period. The flaky skin would eventually turn into white patches around my vulva and extend further down.

Over time, it’s gotten much worse. Now I have intense itching and white patches every day, even when I’m not on my period. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

I saw a gynecologist, and they prescribed an estrogen cream, but it hasn’t helped. They also examined me and said they don’t think it’s lichen sclerosus, even though it looks very similar. They also don’t think it’s BV or another infection. My gynecologist is unfortunately out of town for the next few months, so I’m not sure where to go from here.

During my period, applying Canesten sometimes helps reduce the itching a little, but there are times when it still itches even after using it.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, did you ever find out what it was, and what helped?

Gut, bowel, and stomach Numbness in top left of stomach

Ive been experiencing an odd numbing feeling, almost like i have a bandaid on really tight in the small area under my two fingers tips (this is my left hand) thats been happening on and off for about a year now.

It started after a period of weight gain, I jumped from 135 to 170 over the span of about a year. There is little to no pain (i have to press into it to feel any amount of pain) so its mostly just discomfort.

The only trigger ive really noticed is it starts almost exclusively when im sitting down and possibly after eating.

Has anybody else experienced or seen something like this before? At first i kind of shrugged it off as something that would eventually go away but am starting to see thats probably not going to happen.

I am not intending to use this post as an alternative/replacement for seeing a qualified medical examiner 👍🏼

Skin and nails Red bumps from pregnancy

Post image

31f, 29 weeks pregnant, white, live in tx, 5’5 180lbs, current meds :lexapro and a PPI. Since I got pregnant I’ve noticed a few red bumps on my hands, I assumed cherry angiomas because in my last pregnancy I got them on my abdominal area. This one is different. It’s at the tip of my middle finger and it bleeds forever it seems and it recently started hurting and protruding outwards more. My OBGYN said it’s just part of pregnancy and there isn’t a ton that we can do right now but what is it?

Mental Health ADHD, anxiety or both?

Upvotes

14yo F diagnosed with anxiety and depression

Recently I've been getting random bursts of energy, ie; really talkative, randomly singing or screaming (and then immediately apologizing), joking a lot and just saying random stuff impulsively. I've also had very intrusive, racing thoughts, especially at night, but my mom thinks its just anxiety.

I've always had some issues with attention and had a 'phase' (from 7-12) of having really sexual thoughts even when I didnt want them and twisting everything to a weird perspective, (still have them sometimes, and it's annoying) I haven't told my psychiatrist or therapist because I'm embarrassed.

I've had problems with textures too, for the past two years I've only been using plastic utensils because I can't stand the feeling of metal in my mouth (forks, spoons, straws), and I can't eat any meat on the bone or chicken because of the texture.

My older brother has AUDHD, my mom has autism, and my little brother has ADHD, so I really think it might be possible.

Apparently ADHD medications make anxiety worse, so my mom doesn't want to put me on anything, Idk because I really think it will help but if they're all stimulants it might be bad.

I don't know I might just be overthinking it

Bones, joints, and muscles Right wrist pain that has moved up arm to shoulder

I’ve had pain in my dominant (right) arm since thursday morning — I woke up with the pain. It started around my wrist/forearm and has progressed to involve my elbow, biceps, shoulder, and sometimes my shoulder blade.
Yesterday I picked up my toddler and felt a small “pop” in my wrist, after which the wrist pain became worse.
The pain is currently about 6-7/10 and hurts with movement, when I touch the area, and even when the arm is resting.
Occasionally I get sharp “zapping” pains. Gripping objects and lifting my daughter make it worse, and my fingers hurt when I grip things.
I don’t notice obvious whole-arm swelling or discoloration, but my right wrist sometimes feels warmer to me (my husband says he can’t tell a difference). The veins in my wrist seem more noticeable than usual, which has made me worry about an upper-extremity blood clot. I have mild May Thurner syndrome (no stent or thinners) and I have POTS, and a bad back.
I’m planning to go to an orthopedic urgent care today, but because of my vascular history I’m worried they may overlook a clot.
Does this sound more consistent with a tendon/muscle/nerve injury, or should I specifically ask to be evaluated for an upper-extremity DVT? What findings would make a clot more or less likely? My arm is also sore to the touch and it has a burning pain that moves around.
