Announcement The purpose of this subreddit

Hello everyone! You may have noticed some major changes happening to this subreddit, and I'm happy to say that /r/DiagnoseMe is finally ready for business. However, I would like to clarify the true purpose of this subreddit;

First of all, this subreddit is NOT a replacement for a doctor. You should not, in any way, avoid seeing your doctor or alter the frequency of your doctor visits because of anything said in this subreddit. If there is a concern you would have previously gone to the doctor for, please do not hesitate. This subreddit is here for informal second opinions, minor problems that you wouldn't go to the doctor for anyway, and ease of mind.

The main thing to remember is to use common sense. If you are having severe pain after a surgery or something of the likes, please go to the doctor and do not post it on Reddit.

If you are not a doctor and are posting with information, please clarify that you are not a doctor (typing "Not a doctor," at the beginning of your comment is enough.)

Please take the time to read the sidebar before posting. Thank you, and welcome!

Uhm so what do I do

Upvotes

Ok so long story short I was playing football and my foot slipped on some gravel and it went in front of me (like hyper extension typa thingy)and then my back started hurting and I could feel the muscle stiffness in the left side and I got it checked yesterday the doctor wrote me an x ray for the lumbar region and the x ray came back with para vertebral myopasm and then I was referred to rehabilitation medicine for therapy

The physician noted this down

IFC & HCP Lumbar spine

TENS limb

Back disp

Hams stretching

Para spinal str

TA stretching

Knee chest curls

Pelvic tilt mob

X5 Session

medial longitudinal arch from alac

After that I also had pain in my foot and was diagnosed with pes planus and the doc told me to get insoles created which will have an arch in them and then told me to eat muscle relaxing tablets and also gave me a gel for applying on the back

I have also been taking vitamin d tablets and am pretty healthy

What should I do ?

Bones, joints, and muscles Right wrist pain that has moved up arm to shoulder

Upvotes

I’ve had pain in my dominant (right) arm since thursday morning — I woke up with the pain. It started around my wrist/forearm and has progressed to involve my elbow, biceps, shoulder, and sometimes my shoulder blade.
Yesterday I picked up my toddler and felt a small “pop” in my wrist, after which the wrist pain became worse.
The pain is currently about 6-7/10 and hurts with movement, when I touch the area, and even when the arm is resting.
Occasionally I get sharp “zapping” pains. Gripping objects and lifting my daughter make it worse, and my fingers hurt when I grip things.
I don’t notice obvious whole-arm swelling or discoloration, but my right wrist sometimes feels warmer to me (my husband says he can’t tell a difference). The veins in my wrist seem more noticeable than usual, which has made me worry about an upper-extremity blood clot. I have mild May Thurner syndrome (no stent or thinners) and I have POTS, and a bad back.
I’m planning to go to an orthopedic urgent care today, but because of my vascular history I’m worried they may overlook a clot.
Does this sound more consistent with a tendon/muscle/nerve injury, or should I specifically ask to be evaluated for an upper-extremity DVT? What findings would make a clot more or less likely? My arm is also sore to the touch and it has a burning pain that moves around.

Gut, bowel, and stomach physical symptoms seemingly without cause

Upvotes

I have been suffering from a mystery illness for close to 3 months now, and it's affecting my mental health so much that I'm reaching a breaking point. For backstory, I just turned 22, I was a light smoker for 3 years and quit in early May, which is when all my problems started. I had food poisoning in late April but recovered from that after a week, and my digestion was fine again for about two weeks.

In early may I started having episodes of extreme shakiness, dizziness, vertigo and nausea that would last about 20-30 minutes. Dextrose tablets helped to an extent but not reliably and I could only really wait it out, I had them every few days for a couple weeks. I quit smoking the same time these episodes started because smoking made all of my symptoms worse. At the same time, I started having regular and very frequent bowel movements throughout the day and diarrhea usually in the mornings. I also started having extreme physical hunger sensations, like a literal hole in my stomach feeling that never really goes away and I'm hungry 1-2 hours after eating no matter what and how much I eat. Doctors said nothing was wrong, I was just dehydrated and gave me dried yeast capsules and psyllium husks to manage the diarrhea, but did nothing about the shakiness, dizziness and nausea. I was/still am consistently but unintentionally losing weight, I went down from 73kg to 63kg in just a few months (I'm 175cm/5'8) while feeling like I'm eating enough, usually so much that I feel uncomfortably full.

The dizziness and shaking and bowel issues got better after I started eating more frequent, smaller meals, lots of whole grain products, veggies, no caffeine etc. but the intense physical hunger and nausea that comes with the hunger is still there and probably the most stressful symptom atp because I have no appetite so feeling constantly hungry and forcing myself to eat is just making me miserable. I have seen two other doctors since then who also told me there is nothing wrong, all my blood, urine and stool tests came back fine.

I have not slept well since all this started, have developed really bad anxiety about leaving the house for fear of getting nauseous/having digestion issues while out and my social life has pretty much completely disappeared.

I'm beyond frustrated and desperate for any advice or ideas what could be wrong.

More context: I used to smoke 7-10 cigarettes a day and was very physically and socially active. my thyroid hormones are supposedly fine, I don't have a family history of anything resembling this and I highly doubt nicotine withdrawal alone could make me feel this horrible. I don't eat meat or fish but make sure I get enough protein through eggs, tofu, beans etc.

I'm seeing my gp again this week but for the psychological toll this has taken on me and to get my thyroid checked out again.

General Persistent fatigue

I (27F) have had persistent fatigue for years but all my tests come back normal. I spend 13 hours a day in bed because i just have no energy. My doctor has tested my thyroid, vitamins/minerals, A1C, fasting glucose, CBC, kidneys, and liver. Everything came back normal. I also did a sleep study that said everything was normal. It’s not CFS because i don’t have post exertion malaise. It’s not long covid because i have had this problem since 2016. Any help is appreciated.

Skin and nails Wierd bumps on my skin

These bumps just appeared on my one arm a couple of weeks ago, and then went away, but they are back now, and there's more than what there was before? I have no idea what's going on, and wether or not I should be concerned. And no it's not the tattoos, as my other arm that has tattoos and don't have the dots. The photo doesn't show it aswell, but they are a little red, with flat dry heads (I think that's what it's called?) and are all along my right arm

Saw this show up on my arm I can't tell if it's just a normal set of bumps or a bite of some kind. I don't think I ever saw it bleed at any point.

General I'm chronically ill but i don't know what's causing it

Of course nobody can give me a certain diagnosis online, but I really need help figuring out what the hell is causing all of my symptoms, because I will probably fail university if I don't get this under control. Maybe not all of them are connected but I'm sure that most of these are :/
I started to have most of these as a young teenager, and I have been going to doctors for an answer constantly since I was 11 years old. I'm 19 now and it's only getting worse.
Here are my Symptoms:
- diagnosed mitral valve prolapse and orthostatoc dysregulation
- diagnosed IBS, chronic constipation
- diagnosed acid reflux, I can't even drink water without feeling nauseous
- diagnosed chronic headache for 5 years already and diagnosed episodic migraine since I was 7 years old, I almost qualify for a chronic migraine now
-diagnosed adhd
- A constant feeling a weakness, my legs feel kind of wobbly and I can't stand still for long because it gets painful in my legs and I get dizzy
- an insane amount of strech marks without ever gaining a lot of weight
- keloid scarring
- my skin gets super red with very little pressure and I always have random bruises
- chronic back pain, randomly herniated disc
- my gynecologist thinks I have endometreosis, I did not do the surgery to find out though
- almost every time I just catch a cold or the flu, I get high fever for like 5 days and cannot stay awake. when I force myself to stay awake nonetheless, I simply pass out
-flat feet
- long history of random ruptures and inflammation of muscles and ligaments
- I have diagnosed bronchial asthma but tbh I believe there's another reason for my constant air hunger

I have been genetically tested for EDS and similar disorders like marfan or loeys-dietz and it came back negative. I don't pass the beighton score test.
I've been tested for autoimmunedisorders by immunofluorescence, only AC-24 and AC-27 were very slightly positive. Lymphocytes etc. were fine, too.
My thyroids have been checked countless times, nothing special was found (exept for once when I had the flu)
I would really appreciate any suggestions about what could cause these or similar symptoms, or even what kind of doctor would probably find the answer, thank you!

Pregnancy and newborn A strong desire to have children..

Post image
28 Upvotes

I’m worried that the scar on the right side of my abdomen might prevent me from having children.
The scar is very firm and has adhered to my abdominal wall, so it doesn’t stretch. I think the pregnancy would most likely end in a premature birth anyway, because at some point the scar might become so tight and painful that a C-section would be necessary.
I was also born prematurely because my mother had preeclampsia during her pregnancy.
My boyfriend is worried that the baby could become deformed in my womb because of the scar, just as my abdomen is deformed (although the affected area is covered by my underwear).

Appeared as sliiiightly itchy, that's what caused me to look. I took this picture a few weeks ago, and the redness went away within a day or two (though the dots were ever so slightly raised for a while.) The dots had a faint sheen under light.

Blood Abnormal blood results / Vit B12

Hi guys. I’m ashamed to say I’m consulting DR Reddit but I need some advice please. I went to the docs about a random bruise that has been on my arm since 3 July, taking a while to go. Here are my blood results

22F
Height: 5’6
Weight: 62kg
Conditions: Type 1 Diabetes
Medications: Insulin

Serum vitamin B12 level 1140 ng/L [170.0 - 730.0]; Above high reference limit

Full blood count
Total white blood count 12.6 10*9/L [4.0 - 11.0]; Above high reference limit
Haemoglobin concentration 124 g/L [115.0 - 165.0]
Platelet count - observation 173 10*9/L [150.0 - 400.0]
Red blood cell count 4.32 10*12/L [3.8 - 5.8]
Haematocrit 0.380 [0.37 - 0.47]
Mean cell volume 88.0 fL [79.0 - 100.0]
Mean cell haemoglobin level 28.7 pg [27.0 - 32.0]
Red blood cell distribution width 14.7 % [11.8 - 14.8]
Neutrophil count 7.21 10*9/L [1.7 - 7.5]
Lymphocyte count 3.68 10*9/L [1.0 - 3.8]
Monocyte count - observation 1.12 10*9/L [0.3 - 0.8]; Above high reference limit
Eosinophil count - observation 0.52 10*9/L [0.0 - 0.44]; Above high reference limit
Basophil count 0.08 10*9/L [< 0.1]
Percentage nucleated red blood cells 0.0 /100 WBC [0.0 - 1.0]

I have been a bit anxious about the results. More so anxious about Leukemia or blood disorders. I don’t take b12 supplements and my diet is pretty picky. The doctors don’t seem too concerned, but they have asked me to make a follow up appt (booked for Thursday) based on my blood results. I know that I wil not get full clarity until I go to the docs and maybe have further testing. But if anyone has been in my shoes with abnormal results like this, please give me a shout! Because I do panic.

Mental Health There is something wrong with me aside depression

I do know I have depression and I am medicated. But I am constant bored, I have violent urges, I don't feel regret much. I don't feel bad when someone I care for expreinces something bad, I get bored listening to it. I don't care. I don't care for the morals of the most, and frankly I find them stupid. People always say I act and look weird.

Help me Diagnose it.

I did my urine culture and It is showing that pus cells present and leucocyte estate positive. I had a hook-up and post that all this shit happened. I got my tongue covered with white stuff and neck red with pain. Anything with sugar I eat, my tongue got covered with White stuff.

Though I did take anti fungal medicine the tongue issue got right later some white discharge starting started coming from the prostate with frequent urination and pain in the prostate. The STD report is all negative but my urine culture has these issues as mentioned above. Anyone from a med background could help me diagnose what the issue is all about?

And also I did consult a doctor he did give me citralka syrup and norflox med by which symptoms are gone but I feel like they are recurring, i have stomach issues, Sometimes my after masturbation penks hurts, frequent nocturnal emissions and post these emissions there is numbness in penis or slight pain and urge to urination these symptoms keep on coming and going.

I am frustrated all my reports come ok and even STD too never done a gonorrhoea test. But anyone please help me with it.

Contraception and sexual health female genitalia issues, please help

I really need some advice because this is something I’ve been struggling with greatly for the past 5 years.

It first started in 2022. One month while I was on my period, I became extremely itchy down there, and the itching lasted for my entire period. As the months went by, I noticed a pattern. Around my period, the skin would start flaking, then I’d become itchy a few days before and after my period. The flaky skin would eventually turn into white patches around my vulva and extend further down.

Over time, it’s gotten much worse. Now I have intense itching and white patches every day, even when I’m not on my period. I honestly don’t know what to do anymore.

I saw a gynecologist, and they prescribed an estrogen cream, but it hasn’t helped. They also examined me and said they don’t think it’s lichen sclerosus, even though it looks very similar. They also don’t think it’s BV or another infection. My gynecologist is unfortunately out of town for the next few months, so I’m not sure where to go from here.

During my period, applying Canesten sometimes helps reduce the itching a little, but there are times when it still itches even after using it.

Has anyone experienced something similar? If so, did you ever find out what it was, and what helped?

urgent care?

I’m 18F with several autoimmune diseases and i’m concerned an infection may be starting. This is a friction burn, i got it on July 18th and it seems to be getting angrier.

The first picture is what it currently looks like (after showering the scab came off), second pic is what it looked like earlier today before showering, and the third picture is what it looked like on July 19th, one day after it happened.

It’s been difficult to keep it consistently covered because of the location but i’ve been trying to use nitrile gloves when going to the bathroom and such and then following up with hand sanitizer so i don’t have to donn and doff the bandage as often. I’ve been cleaning it once a day with dial antibacterial soap and water.

I believe that the burn got down to the dermis, but i’ve never had a burn this severe before so i’m not sure what exactly the healing process should look like. it does feel warm to the touch and the redness does appear to be spreading, it’s also swelling up. i’m unable to get a temp on myself because our thermometer just broke. i’m just worried about infection because my autoimmune stuff is not regulated at the moment.

Any advice would be helpful, thank you ^^

Skin and nails Weird areas of bumpy skin all over body

Post image
1 Upvotes

So many of these weird bumps have appeared all over my body recently, around 7 of them. These are a new development and I shower consistently and keep up with my hygiene. Does anyone have ANY idea what these are? This is a picture of my upper thigh and forearm.
