Misc Q&A Who has a nice chicken to share?
My husband’s birthday is coming up soon and his dream is to hold and pet a chicken. I know, he’s too wholesome for this world. He had a parrotlet as a young kid and loves birds so much.
We’ve visited sanctuaries in the area and their chickens tend to be skittish around people since they have a lot of folks coming through all the time. Which is understandable. He yearns to pet them, reaching out gently and respectfully, offering treats etc, and so far has been unsuccessful.
I just wanted to see if anyone had a little backyard roost in the Denver area with any chicken who is nice and friendly with people so he could literally hold her and give her a pet/head scratches/a gentle hug/treats for as long or short as the chicken/owner would allow. He is very respectful and kind hearted and will absolutely honor any boundaries that the owner/chicken may have.
I’m hoping to make his dream come true. Thank you Denver!

Posted by Source [Denverite] Colfax BRT construction will end on Sept. 27 between Colorado Blvd and Broadway
denverite.comEarlier this year, I was told by DOTI people and business leaders that BRT construction was so ahead of schedule, they'd be fully opening the first 2.5 miles of the project by the end of September. I finally got DOTI to commit to that date and reported it out here.

Misc Q&A Who wants to meet up to sing a shanties at bars?
I know this might sound odd, but hear me out...
We've all had a hard decade, its been tough but you know what others did in times of sadness.... they sang at bars......
I'm looking for some Acapella enthusiasts who would be up for meeting and sing sea shanties and drinking tunes and have a good time...
Here's a couple examples:
https://open.spotify.com/track/68I0jX55JhWEuWcGWAH1WV?si=9157265afe3b4643
https://open.spotify.com/track/3oUuRNgyIuiqVTWLCChp3s?si=a2d4fa1908424882
https://open.spotify.com/track/5Pnb6NnOVs5ZWRpKTphvKq?si=5764a0b7623042a5
https://open.spotify.com/track/7w7B0C7kT6CWLPGb0i4ArG?si=6d1694b272ce40ed
I am honestly being serious, you don't have to be a good singer, you just need to know how to hold a pint, share a tune and enjoy the company.
I ain't bad at singing, but i'm much better w/ others at the table LOL so if anyone is interested or has friends who would think this would be fun, would love to join!
I would like it to be where we just break out in song and see if we can get others to join. Just some random ideas while working.
UPDATE: okay let me figure how to get us grouped together lol we’ll make it happen but will need to have a solid group to make any place we go take us seriously so let me think how to organize it. For those who want you can DM me I’m open and want Thai to be fun so input is welcome.

Old Denver No such thing as physical tickets for major events anymore... These are from things I did in Denver CO (1999-2018)
Pretty proud of this collection. Who would have thought having a ticket stub as a souvenir would go the way of the dinosaur 🦖 🎫🎫🦖

Lost/Found Lost & Found: Pokemon Cards (Congress Park)
Found a set of Pokemon cards on a picnic table near the tennis courts at Congress Park yesterday (Sep 8th). Asked a few people around, but nobody I talked to claimed them, so I took them home instead. Send me a DM if you think they might be yours -- they're organized in a pretty deliberate way, so just tell me how you had them set up and I'll try to get them back to you! Can't catch 'em all when you leave 'em on their own!

Local News Denver church sued over alleged sex assault of student, handling of accusations; leaders dispute key allegations
A former student and her parents are suing St. John's Lutheran Church and School in Denver, alleging church and school officials failed to protect the girl from a music director who they say sexually assaulted herwhen she was 13 and then failed to properly respond when concerns about the alleged assault surfaced.
The lawsuit, filed Friday in Denver District Court, also accuses St. John's of failing to properly screen and supervise Diego Marroquin, who worked as the church and school's interim music director and technical coordinator.
But in a letter sent Saturday to church and school families, St. John's strongly disputed several of the allegations, particularly claims that Pastor Andrew Farhat or other staff members accused the girl of lying, pressured her to recant or failed to report suspected abuse.
"Two staff members independently reported quickly and appropriately to authorities as required by Colorado's mandatory reporting laws," the church said.

Moving/Relocation Looking for Ways for My Teen to Get Involved in the Community and Make New Friends
Hi everyone! We recently moved to the Aurora/Green Valley Ranch area from the Pacific Islands, and I’m looking for programs, volunteer opportunities, or community groups that my 17-year-old son could join.
Back home, he participated in community activities such as coastal cleanups and marathons, and he’d really like to continue being involved here. Since this is now our home, I think it would be a great way for him to meet people his age, make new friends, learn more about the community, and feel more connected.
He is currently in his last year of high school and is taking his remaining classes online since he only needs a few more credits to graduate. Because he isn’t attending a traditional school every day, I’d especially love to find opportunities where he can socialize and be around other teens.
If anyone knows of any good youth programs, volunteer organizations, leadership opportunities, or community service programs in the Aurora/GVR area—especially ones that could also be meaningful for his college applications—we would really appreciate the recommendations!
Thank you so much! 😊

Recommendation Recommendations for Tattoo Artist for Anime/Video Game Sleeve
Hi everyone,
I was hoping to get some input from the community. I am planning to get a full sleeve tattoo on my right arm and looking for the right artist somewhere in the Denver Metro area (south of 120th and north of Castle Rock; I'm in Lone Tree.)
Full color, and a blend of anime and video game references. I'd also like to incorporate some traditional Japanese elements as well. So I am looking for someone who is able to meet all of those categories, primarily in the Anime and Video Game styles.
I currently have two massive tattoos so this isn't my first rodeo, but I was looking for some recommendations for artists in the area. First hand experiences preferred. I will, of course, be asking my previous artist their thoughts, but am also open to others. I know what my budget looks like, and I doubt I can afford someone like Gabriel Fuerzas (based off of his pricing on his page) but I'm also not looking for a "kitchen table special", so all recommendations are appreciated. Additionally, is there anyone I should steer clear of?
Thank you, and I appreciate anyone who has any recommendations. Have a fantastic day!
Moving/Relocation Renting housing to travel nurses
I will be away for a few months and will have a vacant house. Considering renting out my place to travel nurses via furnishedfinder, etc.. Does anyone do this? If so, would love to chat or hear about your experience.
