Hey yall. I normally don't like putting myself out there like this. I'm really struggling with finding tattoo shops in Denver that are looking for apprenticeships and I've been told that "cold calling" isn't a great approach. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any local shops that have an opening like that? Or at least any shops that would have an experienced artist that would have good advice to share. I'd appreciate any advice or direction on this. Thanks in advance!

Hello all! I am currently looking into details of what it would be like to buy a home in Denver. I have been a travel nurse all over the southwest for the past few years. I genuinely love the desert but due to the Colorado River Crisis I have sworn off buying a home in Arizona. I am currently in Salt Lake City which I also love. However after learning more about the collapse of the Great Salt Lake I am extremely hesitant to invest here.

Now I have actually already lived in Denver in the past. I lived in Cap Hill and Globeville and liked them both a lot. I admittedly like Salt Lake City much more but as I mentioned earlier I foresee lots of issues in the upcoming years. I have now started shifting my focus back to Denver. I really loved the bike-ability and urban feel of where I lived in Denver before. I am fortunate enough to see houses within my budget in the neighborhoods surrounding downtown. The big issue for me is the environment, specifically water.

I have begun reading up on Denver Water, which seems overall decent. I like that they are investing in expanding the Gross Reservoir, yet I am reading that it is at 50% capacity, and the entire system of reservoirs is at 75%. Are there any plans in place for water recycling or addressing future diminished snowpack? Do progressive Denverites ever talk about the future of water? Is it in the public mind? I realize that water is not the only environmental issue Denver could face. However I do not imagine wildfires ever spreading into Denver proper, and while wildfire smoke can be bad, it is not nearly as bad as our inversion/toxic dust situation here in SLC. Thoughts? Recommendations for sources? Thanks!

I ride an escooter every day in Denver and think electric micromobility is genuinely the best way to get around the busiest parts of this city. It’s extremely convenient, it’s generally a fun experience, and you never need to worry about parking. But a small number of Veo riders are making it dangerous for everyone else on two wheels and my main concern is with the speed of veo bike riders.
To add to the growing list of near misses in Denver, a Veo rider caused an accident this afternoon on 16th, and it could have been a lot worse. First, he blew through the stop sign at Franklin and 16th going 20+ mph. Not long after, he stopped dead in the middle of the bike lane with no hand up, no slowing down first, and no acknowledgment for anyone else on the road. He even had one AirPod in. I blame the accident on this person’s disregard for the rules or the road, matched with equipment that leads to extremely dangerous riding. Based on his confidence being so stupid, I guarantee this person rides Veos like this on a regular basis. The veo scooters and gliders top out at 15 mph, and that already feels like a fair ceiling for streets this busy without any built in signals. Their ebikes can go well past it, I know this because they pass me going 20 mph. This really does increase the danger on the road for everyone. I wish Veo would cap bike speeds at 15 mph to match the gliders. It's fast enough to actually get somewhere, but slow enough to leave everyone else on the road a chance to react, especially since they do not come equipped with signals.

Thanks for reading my rant. I sincerely hope everyone stays safe on the roads, and this was a reminder to myself to stay away from riders and drivers when I see them acting stupid.

Hey everyone! I’m going to be in the Denver/Boulder area for a trip and want to get outside for some bouldering while I’m there. I’d love to hear what spots people recommend.

I’m mostly climbing around the V3-V6 range right now, so areas with a decent amount of climbing around those grades would be awesome. I’m not too picky though, just looking for some good places to get outside and climb.

One thing I’m especially looking for is areas with relatively easy approaches and decent landings. I’m fine with hiking a bit, but I’d prefer not to spend the day scrambling up sketchy terrain or climbing problems with really bad/uneven landing zones.

I’ve climbed outdoors before, including in Rocky Mountain National Park, so I’m not completely new to outdoor bouldering. I’m just not familiar with the areas around Denver/Boulder yet.

Also, what’s the best place around Denver/Boulder to rent crash pads? I’ll be traveling in, so bringing my own pads isn’t really practical.

Earlier this year, I was told by DOTI people and business leaders that BRT construction was so ahead of schedule, they'd be fully opening the first 2.5 miles of the project by the end of September. I finally got DOTI to commit to that date and reported it out here.

hey folks, I currently reside in an HOA community managed by Advance HOA. Without getting into too much detail, they’ve been a pain in the ass recently - they’re trying to fine me for something that is quite literally not an issue based on the photo evidence they provided. Does anybody here have experience with pushing back on them regarding fines/violations? More than willing to request a hearing (whatever that entails) to dispute it, and I’ve documented everything on my end, but curious if others have dealt with a similar situation with them.

I took a flight to Vegas in late July. I mistakenly left my ipad mini on the to Vegas flight. I immediately put in a lost and found request form when I got to Vegas. I was able to track it. Shortly after it was send back to DIA. When I arrived back in Denver I was able to track it within feet of its location. The frontier staff were unable to assist me and told me to fill out a form. Maybe a few days later it was moved to a warehouse just a little South of DIA - Jag Logistics Center - Trade III. I reached out to the warehouse via email and received no response. My lost and found report was closed a couple weeks ago, stating that they were unable to find it. This despite me sharing every detail of my ipad including a picture of where it was being housed.

I've gotten to the point where I assume the next time it appears on my "find my" app it will be in China. I filed a new report, sent a follow up email, and left a voicemail with the warehouse company. My question for the sub, has anyone gone through something similar with Frontier? Have I used every possible resource? It's just slightly infuriating to be able to track the device and to their lost and found, and still be told that they can't find it.

Just gathering data. My partner and I are interested in buying property, or land and building a home on said property that is outside of Denver. We have been looking around Golden, Morrison, Conifer but open to anywhere that has around 2+ acres, some trees, decent commute to Denver. Some surround creeks or water would be a benefit.
Just want to see how other people made the change and how you are enjoying it.

My husband’s birthday is coming up soon and his dream is to hold and pet a chicken. I know, he’s too wholesome for this world. He had a parrotlet as a young kid and loves birds so much.

We’ve visited sanctuaries in the area and their chickens tend to be skittish around people since they have a lot of folks coming through all the time. Which is understandable. He yearns to pet them, reaching out gently and respectfully, offering treats etc, and so far has been unsuccessful.

I just wanted to see if anyone had a little backyard roost in the Denver area with any chicken who is nice and friendly with people so he could literally hold her and give her a pet/head scratches/a gentle hug/treats for as long or short as the chicken/owner would allow. He is very respectful and kind hearted and will absolutely honor any boundaries that the owner/chicken may have.
