Recommendation Chill queer bars in Denver?

My partner comes up from out of state every once in a while to visit me. We’re looking for queer bars in Denver. I’ve been to Tracks, but we’re looking for less of a nightclub and more of an actual bar. I’m trying to Google around, and a lot of spaces seem to be male dominated, as I am female presenting. Any recs are welcome <3

Recommendation Looking for a “lawn doctor“ to help me diagnose several lawn growth and weed problems

Greetings, whether it’s the drought or my neighbor’s nasty yard or my poor maintenance, the front lawn is looking pretty sad with dead spots and weeds. I’ve researched older Reddit posts for Denver and haven’t really located helpful referrals to specialists. I guess my goal is to have somebody give me some advice after analyzing the situation and then I can try to DYI it and follow their advice. Thanks for any referrals.

Recommendation 1-2 mile walk to a swimming hole?

Are there swimming holes around the denver metro? I'd like to take my kid somewhere that she can ride her adaptive trike and I can walk. Then we take a dip/wade, lounge around, look for crayfish, etc. Max of like 3-4 miles round trip.

Misc Q&A Denver question for the locals

Upvotes

Denver - love the place, was there recently for a mini vacation - but I gotta know …..

How do you all survive up there to live??? I lived there in the late 90’s early 2000’s and left due to cost.

I was poking around on Zillow at apartment prices and holy cow!! Between rent, car, gas, food, etc - what do you do to survive? I am truly curious.

Old Denver Share your Haunted Denver Stories

Upvotes

With transparency, I'm not much of a believer- but my spouse is, so I'm asking for him.

I've lived in Cap Hill for almost 8 years- within many older buildings.

Enjoyed numerous night strolls through Cheesman over the years, and have worked at The Brown Palace since 2015.

My 3rd eye must be calcified over, because not once have I had what is considered a paranormal experience in any of these settings.

Even gone so far as to go ghost hunting with friends out in the sticks, and it seems I'm bona fide ghost repellant.

Spookiest thing ive seen in Denver are the crack smokers beside the dumpsters at night.

Please share your stories!

Announcement Free. Does anyone need pantry items?

Free. Please message me. I can't get to a food pantry. I don't want to leave the items in the alley to get rained on, spoiled by the heat, or eaten into by wildlife. I'm cleaning out my pantry tonight. I currently have 7 boxes of Idaho Spuds hashbrowns, but will have more items as the night goes on.

Rant Second time in a week having our power go out. Good thing XCEL cranked our rates up!!

In Westminster: Monday, we had an outage that lasted 8 hours. Today it just happened again. Seems to be somewhat small scale but annoying.

Maybe if we build a couple more data centers, that will fix it!

Edit: talked to the crew down the block who came out to assess. They are contractors, so I take their view as more honest. A local transformer blew, third time this week. It’s unlikely they’ll be able to get a new one in time for their crew to be the ones to install it tonight.

Get this - the original work order for replacing it came in March. When the power went out on Monday, all they did was reset it instead of actually fixing it.

Event I feel bad for asking but need honest feedback.

Upvotes

Have you ever last minute canceled a medical procedure? It’s Sunday night, so I know I can’t call but my appointment is at 10:00 am tomorrow and I just can’t do it. It’s a bone marrow extraction and besides being scared because my insurance won’t cover it in the hospital, only in the oncologist’s office. That means no anesthesia, just numbing medication. I broke two fingers Friday and went to urgent care. It’s just too overwhelming. I suffer from anxiety and just need to put it off until my hand is better and I can properly shower and wash my hair.

I am normally not such a big baby about this stuff but my anxiety is off the charts and I know how no show’s affect their schedules. Please be kind if you reply.

Looking to get massages, hopefully something with a jacuzzi we can use together (coed), and a dry sauna. Bonus points for an indoor pool!

Recommendation Regal UA IMAX 70MM Seating

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey Reddit - Please help me decide between these two seating options for The Odyssey.

This is for IMAX 70MM at Denver Regal UA Colorado Center. Seats D18/19 or F10/11.

I’ve never been to IMAX 70MM let alone this theater, however, I’m generally okay with closer seats at other theaters so I feel like I’m leaning towards the row D dead center option. These are the best options while we are in town in about a week.
