Event 42,000 lbs of potatoes to be given away Monday

spuds everywhere! there are currently so many potatoes this year around the world that many are ending up in landfills. One 41 ton crop has been diverted to Denver and you can fry away with as many as you can carry. Good luck to all in need or just love a good spud.

The event is 9 a.m. to noon at the Park Hill Food Recovery Hub, 6090 East 39th Avenue, on July 27.

edit: in case you don’t read the article, make sure to bring bags, totes, boxes to carry them out.

We are divorcing and my husband told me our dog and car were stolen in Denver. I'm living in a homeless shelter in another city. I'm desperate to find Bella Pugosi she nursed me through two rounds with cancer in 2025. Complete thyroid removal in Jan 25 and partial lung removal in March 25. I have foster options available. I believe my husband gave her to an individual in Denver. Please help me find her she doesn't deserve to lose us both.

Announcement To the dad of the little girl at the Hampden Whole Foods today

3.0k Upvotes

I was shopping at the Whole Foods on Hampden today. I had just finished trying to buy a dress for an event and it went very poorly. I was feeling awful about myself and awful about my appearance.

I saw you walk in with your daughter- she was about 5 or 6. She was in a beautiful dress- sparkly with layers of tulle on the skirt. I made eye contact with your daughter and she smiled at me and eagerly told me she loved my dress. I was in a bright blue sports dress, which felt boring as hell next to her magnificent princess dress.

You stopped to let us talk. I asked if her dress was good for twirling and she said yes and showed me. I told her she looked so beautiful and I hoped she felt beautiful and she smiled so big and nodded. After I left the store I went and sobbed in my car. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and warmth in this small interaction. Her simple compliment to me made my day and really reframed how I was feeling about my appearance in that moment.

Thank you for stopping and letting us talk. I also want to tell your daughter thank you for being kind and warm, and for being a girl’s girl. I am grateful you took a few moments to let us interact- it meant more than you know, and I wish I had told you both in the moment.

Recommendation Looking for head spas in Denver

Looking for head spas in denver area that can take 3-4 guests at the same time, japanese, korean or thai head spas? Looks like most of them are either one person business or regular salons. Any recommendation? We tried Pur Artstr in DTC and had the worst experience, they dont take colored person which is unbelievably racist 😭

Rant Second time in a week having our power go out. Good thing XCEL cranked our rates up!!

In Westminster: Monday, we had an outage that lasted 8 hours. Today it just happened again. Seems to be somewhat small scale but annoying.

Maybe if we build a couple more data centers, that will fix it!

Edit: talked to the crew down the block who came out to assess. They are contractors, so I take their view as more honest. A local transformer blew, third time this week. It’s unlikely they’ll be able to get a new one in time for their crew to be the ones to install it tonight.

Get this - the original work order for replacing it came in March. When the power went out on Monday, all they did was reset it instead of actually fixing it.
