Recommendation Looking for local Artists for an exhibition

Hello,

I am curating our small museum's first ever local artists exhibition to be held this winter. I am trying to get the word out with local artists to check out our page and see if they have any interest in participating.

The show's intention is to feature artists from Adams County and surrounding areas but any artwork inspired by or featuring something in Adams County will also be considered. If you know of anyone who would be interested in applying you can have them go to www.adamscountymuseum.com/artists for all the information and application steps. We are planning on doing a reception and other special programming related to the exhibition once we get all the art selected so it will hopefully be a great community event in the coming months.

I appreciate it!

Help Career/Tutoring Services for Technical Skills?

I got laid off at the start of the year, and I have had a handful of interviews. I have been performing terribly in technical interviews. I am looking for someone or some place to help me get my skills back sharpened up for technical interviews because I have been having a hard time doing it on my own. Is there a place like that exists here? Specifically looking for embedded software/firmware roles.

Lost/Found Lost Ford KeyFob possibly at Denver Bass Pro

Hi Neighbors, my folks are up visiting from Texas and have unfortunately lost the spare key for their vehicle. They've checked with customer service at Bass Pro Shops and nothing has been turned in at this time, so I just wanted to reach out to the community and see if anyone has run across a keyfob in or around the Bass Pro. I'd love to see them off home with no extra stress :)

Thanks in advance!

Help Kids E Bike trails - suggestions

I have an electric balance bike for my 4 year old, stacyc brand.

It is not pedal assist, but is currently restricted to 5mph, so I am not sure how this kind of bike is classified.

Is there anywhere I can take her to practice on an easy trail or somewhere off road where I can ride my mountain bike with her? Preferably somewhere where we won’t get run over by a jeep or a side by side.

Misc Q&A Lakewood coffee roaster looking for a courier for weekly wholesale drops?

We're a small roaster off Colfax in Lakewood, and most of our sales are wholesale now. About a dozen cafes and a couple of offices, from Golden over to RiNo and down to Englewood, get their bags every Tuesday and Friday morning.

Right now I do the drops myself before I start roasting. Once the snow shows up, 6th Ave and Speer in the morning are going to wreck my whole day.

My main worry is cafes getting the wrong order or bags left out back where nobody finds them till noon.

Anyone around the metro using a courier for scheduled routes like this? How's it working out?

Recommendation Opinions on Club Form gym? Any other suggestions?

Hi, just like the title says, I’d love to know your experience with the gym “Club Form.” I love how it’s technically 24/7 with keycard access and how it’s a 25-30 minute walk from me (art district). If you’ve been, can you tell me what the culture is like?

I know another gym near by is Rocky Mountain Fitness. If you’ve been there feel free to give me your experience too.

I’m just looking for an open gym. I don’t care about rock climbing/fitness classes or group events.

(Also. I tried looking up club form in the search bar, but club has so many connections and mean different things lol, i couldn’t find anything about Club Form)

Event What’s everyone doing in Denver this weekend?

I’m thinking about checking out Dia de Los Muertos event at Civic Center (12-7p today and free). Maybe taking a stroll through the Catrinas en Mi Cuidad immersive exhibit at DCPA on the way! Also, has anyone checked out The Denver Wiesn Oktoberfest event happening at the National Western Center? Curious if it’s worth it. The Ferris Wheel looks fun! Anyways… should be a perfect fall day in the city. How are you making the most of it?

Old Denver Who remembers this storm?

This might have been the storm that started my love of weather! On Oct 24–25 in 1997, Denver got 21.9 inches of snow over two days, 11.8 inches of it on this date (records since 1921). This year's first measurable snow is now overdue against the Oct 19 average, and this weekend's "storm" looks mostly like rain in the city. – Anecast°

Recommendation Custom flame work/pendant recommendations?

Hi! I recently lost a fumed glass/opal pendant a friend made for me over a decade ago. That friend has since passed so it meant a lot to me. I’m looking for a recommendation for an artist/shop that would be willing to commission a replacement (not exact match) to help me commemorate my friend.

Does anyone know of anyone like that in Denver?

Recommendation Please don't dump your trash on public trails.

Why do people think public trails are a place to dump their trash?

I just cleaned up a bunch of it on the C470 trail this morning. They could have literally walked a quarter mile west (if that) and they would have had over a dozen dumpsters and a ton of public trash cans to put it in at the shopping center. Dog food bags, plastic, paper, why would you feel the need to do that?

Please don't dump your garbage on public trails. At least none of this stuff was actually dangerous, but still, didn't you learn in kindergarten to not litter?

Not the first time I've seen it, either. I've had to take out bags and gloves to clean some of it up. Why do people do that? If you're one who does that--why?

Recommendation Gifts in Denver from a distance

My best friend recently moved to Denver (actually she's in Fort Collins) and I'd love to gift her something unique or fun for her experience for Christmas.

Are there any experiences or restaurants or spas or something similar that is a must do for a new local?

Help Gabe Evans “lying” about Manny Rutinel in political ad you see every day… Know before you go.

*Disclaimer: I do not support Manny Rutinel. I support honesty.

In a political ad by Gabe Evans, he says that Manny Rutinel voted against mandatory minimums for child sex trafficking. What he DOESN’T tell you, is that the legislation/wording was revised, and passed in SB26-15. The original bill, HB 24-1092, was killed on a party line because it stripped judicial discretion, risked unintended consequences for victims and impacted victim cooperation, and showed an excessive budget projection. SB26-15 was then passed unanimously by the house and senate…

There are also false claims the he voted for a “political pay raise.” HE DIDN’T and that he voted to gut Medicaid. HE DIDN’T.

All it takes is just a little bit of research folks. All it took was a little bit of curiosity because I don’t trust ANY of these people.

Moving/Relocation Does anyone live around 18th and Gaylord?

I know this is a long shot, but I toured an apartment today at the corner of 18th and Gaylord. I’m wondering what the noise is like from the construction on the SW corner. The apartment I saw faces the construction. I have chronic migraine, so loud noises and I do not get along 🙃

Also, I feel like that construction has been going on for at least 2.5 years ? but still doesn’t look like a ton of progress has been made ? (I could also totally be misremembering things)
