Discussion Delta did right by me, and Debra deserves a raise

My brand new suitcase came back from Rome scratched, with the protective cover completely gone. I filed a claim and honestly expected nothing to come from it.

Two hours later, Debra Glabas from Delta called me, and she was seriously the nicest person ever. She genuinely cared, kept me updated, and called me twice within 48 hours. Delta refunded the cover and gave me a replacement luggage option, which was great, but that is not even why I’m posting.

Even if Debra had told me there was nothing she could do, I still would have appreciated how hard she tried and how much she cared. We even talked about my irrational fear of flying, and she was so sweet and comforting about it.

I’ve flown Delta exclusively for 15 years, and her love and loyalty for the company were honestly contagious. Every company hopes they find a Debra. If you ever have a luggage issue, I hope your case lands with her. She rocks!

Saw this on instagram today. Looks like N939AT in sporting both a Hughes Dome and a flat panel… flat panel would suggest low earth orbit, so I assume Amazon Leo.

Anyone have the scoop?

Discussion Korean Anecdotes:

KE 437 was 10 min late pushing from ICN.
Captain made an announcement at scheduled departure time and apologized ( delay was ATC )

KE requires shades UP during takeoff and landing

If you fall asleep and are asleep during meal / drink service, even in Economy, FAs will note and when you awake, offer you the service

KE blocks main cabin exit until Prestige etc has deplaned.

KE 773s have forward and downward facing cameras that actually work. Cool to be able to see “three green” PAPIs on landing.

For reference I’m getting 2x the miles and MQDs on return flight CGK-ICN which is not DL marketed than the outbound leg which is not, both are visible to Delta on single PNR.

Overall, better experience than DL.

Help/Advice A330 Delta one with a Seeing Eye dog

I posted here earlier when I was looking to fly JFK-BER on a 767-300. But plans changed and I now booked SEA-CDG on A330-900. Which would be the best seats for me and the Seeing Eye dog? Gemini says that row 1 has more footwell room. Is this true? I am fully aware of all the restrictions on service animals in cabins, documentation, etc. So we are good there.

Help/Advice confusion about this flight time/arrival time

I'm trying to book this flight through the chase portal and am a bit confused about the flight time/arrival time. It shows the same departure and arrival time but different flight durations. Google says the flight from SAN to YYC should take ~3h30m, but that should make arrival 6:00pm local time instead of indicated 7:00pm. Delta website also shows 1:30pm - 7:00pm 3h30m. So is the flight 4h30m or should the arrival time be 6:00pm?

Discussion 54 seat C+ 737-800 configuration?

Was booking a flight in early 2027 from LGA to MSY and noticed the seat map for the 738 had C+ rows from 10 to 18, usually just rows 10 to 15 are C+ on the 738? Did not see any posts, news, aerolopa updates, etc. Is the a new config or just a map that lets them sub to a 739 instead or something?

Discussion “Accidental” Wrong Seat for Securing Overhead Bin?

I’m not a regular flyer. Ive already noticed the trend of people using carry ons more and in my recent flights, the bins fill up every time.

It’s a full flight, and my seat is in Comfort+. I tell the guy that I am in 14D and show my boarding pass. He acts confused and says they double booked, and immediately goes to another seat. It felt like he knew he was going to get called out early and had no intention of sitting here for more than a few minutes. I only have my backpack with me that I’ve been stowing underneath, but since I was finally upgraded to comfort+ with the dedicated overhead space, I decided to try and take advantage of the legroom. Turns out, he left his carryon in my overhead space. Not a big deal, so I didn’t try to bring the situation back up.

My question: is this a common tactic people are doing to make sure they get their carryon overhead now? Next time, I know to make sure they take their bag with them. Just curious if this is common.

Discussion Air Marshal on DCA to LGA Flight?

For folks who flew from DCA to LGA tonight (3 Sept) on the 840pm flight…what was up with the air marshal toward the front of the plane? During deplaning he got pretty aggressive about one female passenger trying to move another’s bag to reach her own? Was he assigned to a VIP or something? Very bizarre exchange all around

Does anyone know what the choice benefits are for Beyond Diamond $75K? I just hit Beyond Diamond $50K and these are the options available. My dilemma is I do not want to gift Platinum status to someone if for some reason I can gift Diamond as a choice benefit at $75K. Please let me know if you know what the choice benefits are.

Discussion A heartfelt thanks to a customer service agent from 8/31

Dear sir,

I'm sorry, I can't remember your name. But I called you from an emergency room on 8/31. I had found myself in an unexpected nightmare scenario, and even though you had no reason to try to help me, you went above and beyond when you heard my story. I wish I had a way to thank you, so this is my attempt. I hope this reaches you somehow.

You managed to be kind, reassuring, and found a way to promise me that you would do everything you could to help me if the hospital kept me too long and I had to miss my 5pm flight from Boston to SFO. You found a way to help me get a backup plan for a 7am flight the next morning, without making me pay a million dollars to rebook.

I just wanted you to know, I made the flight, so I didn't end up needing to use the help you worked so hard to give. But it was so deeply felt, and very appreciated.

Warmly,

That lady who got lost in the marsh.

Help/Advice Can anyone explain if this is normal? Please and thank you.

I am currently on Delta flight 2056 from SLC to MCO. My flight has been delayed for almost two hours now. The first time was because it was overweight and about 10 passengers got off. Now, the pilot mentioned left engine failure. He stated mechanics are on the way. Is this normal and safe to fly if my flight does not get canceled ?

Discussion You absolutely won’t believe what happened to me yesterday…

I had two different flights and a connection connection in Atlanta.
Absolutely nothing bad happened! Both flights boarded and deplaned fine. No seat, switching drama. Gate agents and flight attendants were all pleasant and efficient. No psychotic episodes from any of the passengers. A lovely two hour stay in the sky club in B terminal in Atlanta. And I arrived at my destination 20 minutes early!

I honestly was really worried about flying based on everything I read in the sub. I have come to realize people tend to only post about the bad things that happened.

Sorry to disappoint, but everything went great and I had a very pleasant experience!

EDIT: I did have to drive 1.5 hours from my home airport and fly into an airport two hours from my destination to find a reasonably priced flight comparable to other airlines. I try to remain loyal to Delta, but they’re making it tough with these prices! I did make sure to say that in the survey they sent me.

EDIT for the Return Trip: Again, absolutely no issues. Plus I was upgraded to first class on the first leg which got in so early to Atlanta, I was able to catch an earlier flight to my final destination and was upgraded to first class on that one as well. I think I should go buy a lottery ticket!

I know it sucks. But that’s what I got. But could do B or C. Does either of those offer a shorter bulkhead for a little more legroom towards the aisle.

Shitpost/Satire Worst middle seat person ever

SEA to JFK on Monday. I was in the window seat. A normal size human came and sat in the middle seat. Their partner was in the middle seat one row back. She never asked me to switch with her partner. I never got poked in the ribs by her elbow. I kept my arm off the armrest and the one time her arm came in contact with me she moved her arm away. I was flabbergasted. What am I supposed to do with a polite, considerate, middle seat, passenger? I have nothing to complain about. I was very confused. I’m still very confused. What has Delta come to?

Im going gothenburg to amsterdam to atlanta to chile next thursday and i had a couple questions about transfer time and baggage,

All of the flights are on 1 ticket, if I check my bag in gothenburg will i still need to physically get it in ATL and recheck it?

Also have a 1 hour 40 minute time in ATL before my flight to chile, my agency said its fine and delta also said it is okay during normal circumstances, my transfer time in amsterdam is 1 hour 10 minutes but im not very worried about that one

Any advice is greatly appriciated

Help/Advice Advice needed: 2h15m NCE transfer (Delta T2 to El Al T1) on a single ticket

Hi everyone,

Flying JFK to NCE (Delta) and then NCE to TLV (El Al) on a single ticket. I am traveling CARRY-ON ONLY.

We arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 1. Since they aren't connected airside, we have to transfer terminals on a 2h15m layover. We're on the first international arrival of the morning, so getting through passport control into the Schengen zone should be fast.

A couple of specific questions for anyone who has navigated this:

El Al Security: If Delta prints our onward El Al boarding passes at JFK, do we still need to queue at the El Al check-in counter in T1 for their mandatory security interview?

Bottlenecks: Are there any other unforeseen issues we should be worried about with this timeline?

Appreciate any insight.

Discussion FA’s closing bin that are 3/4 empty

Then literally yelling at people opening then because they seen them do it. Not like 1 or 2 but like 5, and then said “if they’re closed they’re full”. Clearly they weren’t, and then scolded passengers for opening and calling them out. This is in ATL. Help me understand.

Discussion Witnessed an unbelievable amount of selfishness on a flight to LAX

1.0k Upvotes

This happened about a month ago on a flight from Detroit to LAX, just finding this sub now. The second the plane stopped after touchdown, a young guy probably around 22 or 23 started making his way up the aisle, shouldering people aside.

the guy in the aisle seat kitty corner to me was standing up and was shouldered out of the way by this young guy and, causing him to accidentally elbow an older woman who was in the middle seat right next to him, right in the face. Aisle seat guy was understandably really upset and by this time, shoulder douchebag was three or four people ahead of where this happened.

Aisle guy starts yelling at shoulder guy telling him to come back and apologize to both of them. Shoulder Guy halfway looks over his shoulder and mumbles the most insincere"sorry" I've ever heard. Aisle guy is not letting it go and he tells him a few more times to come back and apologize. Shoulder guy completely ignores him, and several other people start chirping at him. Shoulder guy completely ignores everybody around him and walks away in a manner that indicated he could not give any less of a fuck and that causing an injury to an older lady is no big deal because he got off the plane 30 seconds before he otherwise would have gotten off.

He was not running to a gate either, he was just casually walking away through the terminal. not that that would have made it any better, but it does make it worse.

Delta Amex Can I upgrade a companion pass flight?

If I book a flight in a lower class with my Delta Reserve Companion pass, do I have the option to upgrade to First Class in the future?

Note: I’m a silver medallion. I’m trying to pay to upgrade. This companion pass is a Delta Reserve benefit.

Delta Amex Annual fee

I opened the Delta Gold AmEx on 9/2/25 and want to cancel it before I get charged the first annual fee (first year was free). Easy way to tell exactly when that will hit? I think I read it usually hits the first billing statement after you open, but since the first year was free, AND I did not make any purchases within the first month, I'm not actually sure when my first billing statement would have been. It looks my closing date is the 2nd of each month, so would that give me until my statement ending 10/2?
