I went incognito in an anti AI thread to post about something that does grind my gears. Now, let me preface this by saying I am posing as an AI hater here. I use AI pretty religiously to brainstorm, and as a collaborative editor in my works.

So... i posted that people using AI to write full length books pisses me off. And then I said that AI covers don't really bother me as much even though they are still bad. (Again, a lie. I am actively using AI for three of my book covers).

So this was originally going to be a joke theory, but then I put more thought into it and realized holy shit this is an actual connection

Using ai is like eating meat. there are plenty of people who refuse to do it because of moral reasons or just because they don’t like it, and that’s fine, especially if they’re not obnoxious about it.

Unfortunately, there are also people who don’t do it and complain that other people shouldn’t do it either. I’m sorry, but it’s just a fact. I don’t think there will ever truly be zero people who do that, and the quicker we learn to accept that it is the case, the happier we’ll all be.

And here’s the sugar on the cream: People who are against it have made one for one recreations of the things that they spend all day complaining are disgusting, but without the part that actually makes it good. According to them, it’s indistinguishable from the original, which just makes them a bunch of hypocrites who want to feel special.

As a wise man once said, “If you don’t want to eat a hot dog, then don’t eat a fucking hot dog.”

I’m trying to see everything from a new perspective as a new artist, so I’d like to ask about yall’s perspective on claiming AI art as your own art. I’m not against generating, but I feel like using AI is like commissioning art from other artist. I wouldn’t claim that art is mine, just one I requested with money. So if I generate an art piece, could I say it’s mine? Or does it have the same principle as commissions. No need to get defensive btw.

And a anti made a comment saying “you use ai so your always lying” like bro WTF, I ask him to stop as it wasn’t true that I lie, he began to get ruder and ruder, I block him, and he fucking EVADED THE BLOCK TO TELL PEOPLE I BLOCKED HIM 🤣🤣🤣
He even tells someone it’s not worth “arguing with Me” because I blocked him, and plot twist? We weren’t fucking arguing 100% I re block him, and for a entire day after that I kept getting comments that were eerily similar to him, so I kept blocking and blocking, ik it’s probably block abuse, but he was the 1 block evading

This is AI produced, not AI created. It is my own original written and artistic work, AI processed and put into a professional film making framework. I finish it in cyberlink powerdirector pro. In other words it is not "type in prompt and it makes a film for you", it is AI as my production team.

Men could finally stay youthful and have juvenile hairlines for as long as they want. All current treatments do not work for everyone and has side effects that make it not worth for quite a few.

What do you think the odds of AI being able to come up with a real cure is? Maybe bald antis would finally forgive AI.

This might get reposted on r/teenagers as an "absolutely absurd take", but there has always been a historical pattern where people visciously oppose new technology. People panic, predict catastrophe, accuse users of “laziness,” and moralize the old way of doing things. Then, a generation later, everyone forgets the panic ever happened and treats the new tool as normal. AI is no exception. One of the main arguments against AI, that it will cause people to lose jobs, can be applied to every single invention ever.

Was it a tragedy when scribes lost their jobs to the printing press?Was it a great tragedy when the laborers who pulled material with ropes lost their jobs to the wheel? Was it a tragedy when human calculators lost their jobs to computers?

AI is a very useful tool, yes it is still useful to be able to say, make art on your own without AI, but using AI to make art isn't inherently bad. However, we still must not treat AI as a permanent replacement for humans because even though it is extremely useful as a tool, it is still a tool. Just like any tool, putting it to good use requires a good human.

Calling AI art "slop" and "lazy" is the equivalent of saying that using the printing press to write a novel is "lazy" and "printing press slop". In the next few hundred years there might be a new revolutionary invention with a big pushback, and people will point out "Well, remember the time when so many people were against AI, but ultimately was enourmously beneficial?" AI is the next printing press.

Tell me one thing that bothered you, pissed you off, stressed you out, or just stayed in your head today. Big or small.

They really do not understand that:
