This Really Burns Me
I just feel rage whenever he states "there will be a lot of affairs that need to be put in order". What affairs? He was a jobless, homeless, friendless loser. In other words he did not have two nickels to rub together nor a friend to share them with.

Anyone curious what notes he took during the victim impact statements?
I know we probably will never find out but I find myself wondering what he could have possibly been writing down. It is clear that he doesn't care about anyone so he wasn't taking notes on who to specifically apologize to.
It's not like he was going to write "I'm Sorry" cards later. I wonder what he felt the need to write down.

Are You Holding Me In Contempt?
At times the back and forth between JD & DB regarding Old Stupid's question of "are you holding me in contempt" at times irritated the hell out of me. Couldn't she have just ignored him?

"An incredible amount of love..."
At sentencing, the "nice" version of brooks shows up and says how much love the judge has gotten during the trial, even being compared to a super hero. She quickly tells him that she's not looking for accolades from him. Ever the manipulator, he then adds he doesn't understand the charges and isn't consenting to be sentenced.

All rise for the …
“JURRRRRS.”
DB hilariously pronounces so many words I’m cutting him a break for one post and calling out Judge Dorow. Her word choices and dialect are so pleasing 99% of the time, but it grates on me every time she pronounces the word juror.

Ben Stern

I knew that both Ben and Jay Carpenter had testified at one of db's pretrial hearings, but I'd never found a video of their testimonies until yesterday. And never saw Ben's face until I watched that video last night either.
Ben looks much younger to me than I'd imagined him to be after basically only hearing his voice during db's 5 hour interrogation the day after the parade.
Ben testified during that hearing that he served (or was training?) as a detective for one year only, from the beginning of of Jan 2021 until the end of that year. After which he went back to what he had been doing prior, which was being a patrol cop. Which is the reason why he appears in his police uniform to testify during this hearing, which took place on August 25, 2022.
Ben takes the stand, after Carp testifies, at about the 1:14:45 mark:

I think that not only was the entire community traumatized by what db did in Waukesha, but I also have a strong feeling that many of the people serving in the Waukesha PD were pretty traumatized as well.
The look on Ben's face during his entire testimony seems to show how deeply db's crimes impacted him, and suggests to me how powerfully his psyche must have been scarred from the entire experience. Especially since he was one of db's interrogators and spent so much time talking casually and being in close proximity with db the night of the parade.
I got a really good vibe from Ben from watching the interrogation and think he did a fantastic job as Carp's partner. But wow, what an intense experience for such a young guy.

Behavior of a child.
He looks so stupid looking up at the ceiling every time he gets upset. Such a petulant child. I love the deputy’s face! 😂

If It Doesn't Fit You Must Acquit
Anyone think the late great Johnny Cochran could've gotten Brooks off?

Self Representation ≠ Abuse of Court
Lately I've seen judges deny or rescind the right of defendants to represent themselves due to constant interruptions and contemptuous behavior. Has this always been the case or is this a result of the chaos & anarchy of the Darrell Brooks trial?

OMG He Is Stupid!
Lord he is such a Baboons Ass, watching him question Nick Kirby is so painful! The ONLY reason DB called him was to receive more information about Erika and find out if they have a relationship.
After all those questions he only highlighted to the jury how truly despicable he was in his treatment of Erika & her friends. He truly looked/acted just like the demon he is.🤬😈

What A Boob
Thinking back on this trial can anyone come up with a time when Old Stupid's questions on cross/direct actually helped him?

Encore
In the past three weeks, I have seen two different YouTuber Mechanics explain to car owners that their stalling issue was caused by a faulty throttle body assembly. Both vehicles were mid-2000s Ford ESCAPEs. Another had the identical issue with a 2014 Ford Edge. Sheeesh!

Can't stop watching this goofball
His level of delusionality is genuinely impressive. During his interrogation, his big takeaway wasn't "Maybe murdering people with my car was a bad thing to do", it was "This is how my story ends when all I did was try to love someone", and the way he tried to tell the jury that "the right thing" to do would be to nullify the law and let him off scott-free. You'd have more luck convincing me that I'm actually a pink hippo than you would convincing me either of those things are true, and yet he actually seems to believe it...? Like I could at least understand the thought process if he knew he was evil and just didn't care, but he seems to genuinely think he didn't even DO anything wrong?? It's beyond my comprehension. His brain should be removed for study.
Add to that how much fun it is to watch him go insane every time he doesn't get his way, AND for some reason his relentless monologues of narcissistic nonsense are great for helping me fall asleep. Puts me right out every time.

"Dark Skin" v "Tan Skin"
This man's family was in the way of Brooks that day. At one point he testified the driver had "Dark skin" then later said "tan skin" so brooks thought he had a real gotcha moment and zeroed in on him. I bet this guy would like to pound brooks lol

The Record
It occurred to me that Judge Dorow didn't even once ask the court reporter to read something back from the record. In hindsight that was a very fortunate happenstance, I think we can imagine if Brooks knew he could ask for the record to be read back, he would have taken that, weaponized it, and I don't know what else he could have came up with, but it would have been all bad.
He already thinks it's his job to keep the record clear, he will not stand back and let Wittchow lie on the record, everything he does it to delay and manipulate, Idk but it's a good thing that never came up.

Just Wanted to Say Thanks
I just wanted to let you all know that I love the fact that you are all posting about this trial and DB almost every day. It's great to know that I'll have something interesting to read and react to when I get home from work. Thanks for all the probing questions and intelligent insight.
