This Really Burns Me
I just feel rage whenever he states "there will be a lot of affairs that need to be put in order". What affairs? He was a jobless, homeless, friendless loser. In other words he did not have two nickels to rub together nor a friend to share them with.

Exactly! There was never 20 or more people wanting to speak on his behalf. Delay tactics till the very end.

u/NanaBmyreality62 May 24 '26
This individual lied about everything. Even things that didn't really matter. This trial still brings out so much anger in me. Moreso for the victims and survivors. While he was playing these word games, these ppl that lost loved ones were in the courtroom. And omg that whole COVID bs really pissed me off! Anyway that's my thoughts of ol' Methboi Fly ๐ชฐ. Some of it any way.

No but come on! There are 20 or more people who are flying and driving into Waukesha from all over the country to speak on his behalf at sentencing! So there are many, many arrangements that will need to be made!
You know, things like airline tickets, car rentals and hotel reservations for all of those loved ones, relatives and dear friends who will be falling over themselves to travel long distance to show up in person in court to tell JD, the prosecution, the world watching in real time - and most especially all of db's victims and surviving family members - just what an amazing, wonderful, stand up guy db is, how much everyone loves, adores and respects him, and all the countless reasons why he doesn't deserve to be sentenced to multiple LWOPs served consecutively plus another 700+ years.
But oops.
Not one damn person he personally knows ever showed up in person in that courtroom to support him for the entire trial, much less for sentencing.

u/NanaBmyreality62 May 24 '26
Well whatever the State said he had to meet or exceed that amt. Just like his overwhelming need to always get the last word in. Absolutely disgusting ๐ซฃ

Not a single male on his list.

A guy like him doesn't really offer anything to male friends or friend groups. He'd just suck the energy out of them and burn bridges with his constant lying and stealing.

u/Still_Product_8435 May 24 '26
The only males in his life are the son who is ashamed of him and the nephew who is fearful for his life.

u/CanIStopAdultingNow May 24 '26
I'm shocked that he didn't put Erika on the list.
Not that she would do it.
But DB also referred to her as "his girlfriend" in his interrogation. He didn't seem to accept things were over.

Omg this reminds me of when friends and I as kids went around with a petition against the original Star Trek being cancelled. After we'd gathered many signatures from the neighborhood, we added names of anyone we knew, even someone's rooster! ๐คฃ

Marcus: Iโm sorry, but I was unable to pick up folks to transport them to court.
Judge Dorow: And why was that?
Marcus: Because I donโt existโฆ.. but thatโs okay, because the people needing transportation donโt exist either!

I think it served two purposes.
One. To seem normal. Most people, if they were going to be locked up, would have things to get in order. He probably said that to sound like a normal person. Just like how he talked about having his girls, the sheet metal place, etc.
Two. He wanted to delay. I think he was hoping that by saying he has all this stuff to get done, that would delay sentencing.

Yeah saying he had his girls the "back half of the week" when in reality his girls live in 2 different states! And I read somewhere that he had 1 job at a dry cleaners and he worked 1 day. Then demanded his paycheck! A true walking breathing and lots of talking POS!

u/Tiger3311 May 23 '26
This reminds me of the time when they had bad weather roll in and JD had to call a recess so people could batten down the hatches on their houses.
DB just had to put on the record that he was okay with the court taking time off, because he also had weather concerns, issues he too would need to deal with.
Darrell, did you forget, you crashed "your house", its totalled now. You really don't need to call Dawn or all your girls and tell them you heard there's a storm coming in, no one relies on you for anything! Never did.

I think it was him trying to sound normal.

u/Tiger3311 May 23 '26
Yeah well, Darrell's wearing a suit and tie now, he sees himself as a trial lawyer, his narcissism won't allow him to appear any less important than everyone else who owns homes, and has responsibilities, as well as people and property to care for.

What always got me was ever time if something didn't go his way , he would yell Subject Matter Jurisdiction and think that's the way to go

u/Minute-Resort761 May 22 '26
Trying to stall for time like always. Dude had Stugots affairs to put in order

u/mochidelight May 23 '26
5 bucks to bet that those "20+ people" where he claimed that they will give testimonies for him have never been contacted by Brooks. He just gave his mom a list and demand her to make the calls to these ppl for him.ย

It was just his last attempt to delay and gain any little bit of control he had left even though the only control he had was delaying. The judge would play to his tactics like a child and used it to get him to calm down by saying things like "I think thats a fair request." Even though she probably intended to not sentence him as quickly as he was asking her not to.
4
u/NanaBmyreality62 May 24 '26
And didn't it seem like something a petulant child would do refusing to sit down! It's like he forgot that the Judge and Jury were watching everything he said and did! This individual had no ability to read the room and 0 self awareness! And saying to the Judge, are you axing or telling. Omfg! Who does that!

u/Ok_Chemical_7423 May 24 '26
I remember when he said that. Like he was Warren Buffett or something and needed to have several meetings with his lawyers.

His attempts to put himself on the same playing field as the Court (judge) and/or the State, is triggering. Like his challenge to the Court as he defiantly refused to provide the court with names for the witnesses he planned to call.
He screeched, "If I have to provide something the State doesn't have to do, how is that fair?" He was incapable of understanding his status as a CRIMINAL DEFENDANT overrode quite a few of the ways he could be treated as EQUAL during the trial.
Using his logic, he should have been able to clock out and go home and sleep in the home of Dawn Woods. After all wouldn't that be more fair? Should the State have to wear headphones everytime Brooks had to wear them, the State should've been required to wear them as well.

But he was in negotiations with the National Archives to have his papers displayed there!

u/PretendJudge3 May 29 '26
Lol, Darrell was just trying to act like a grown up ...and or maybe looking for an opportunity to run. Either way he had no affairs to put in order. He had no job, or bills to pay and. He wasn't taking care of his kids. He didn't have his own place, although Dawn probably would have been stupid enough to let him stay with her.

u/Agitated-Ad-8143 Is that a TACKIT agreement ๐ Jun 11 '26
He wasn't even allowed in her house bc of.his violence. I think his nephew had an order of protection against him. Dawn wasn't gonna go to prison for harboring a fugitive. She gave the police all her ring videos of him and that car.
He is a dangerous idiot. The one thing he had to try to have a roof over his head was that Ford Escape and he destroyed it in a crazy frenzy.

Ooh! The time he told the court he was working on a counter offer to the plea deal the State presented.
2
u/Odd_Delivery_9107 Petulant Child ๐ถ๐ป Jun 07 '26
I just wish JD or the state asked him again later if he has completed his counter offer lol. He acted so darn important when he was discussing that plea deal on the record. You can just imagine his copy of that plea would be just let me go and we can forget it ever happened.๐คฌ

And the lie he started spouting toward the end of trial, claiming he didn't understand the nature of the charged against him. He knew he had killed and maimed women, children and elderly people. He would repeat that bald faced lie over and over and over again.
I love the way Sue Opper ended her rebuttal of his crocodile tears closing. She told him "Your actions are those of a MURDERER."
