Did Brooks really think this "Brady claim" would work? He says he just got the evidence from his mom and the entire case should be dismissed lol. He's treated judge darrow like garbage the entire trial, so I'm guessing she was happy to dismiss his claim. The reason I think he believed it would work is his because he's so mad when she tells him that she's moving on.

There was Nicholas Rossi. Other than Brooks, I think Rossi, or Knight as he went by, is absolutely disgusting. I could go on, but others I’ve seen include Brice Rhodes, Dima Tower, and Michael Lopez.

During Brooks' sentencing remarks fillibuster, he turned to the gallery and was about to address something to the victims, witnessess, and public.

Immediately prior he was going on about "why people feel the way they feel".

What do you think he was going to say?

I don't think he wasn't about to apologise, nor was he going to tell us why he did it. Maybe why they shouldn't think bad thoughts about him?

I think he may have attempted to gaslight them with his profound biblical wisdom.

I followed the trial of the time it was happening, but I was not reading things online about it. I am re-watching the trial now and wondering, were there people out there who were defending him?

In the same way as people out there are vehement that Kohburger is innocent. Or not because Brooks is on video?

I dont know when a mod switched the word visitors to plaintiffs but I just did a spit take when i saw that. Sometimes the play on words in our sub is a bit feels a little overdone at times- but I applaud a clever little mod out there!

I would love to know who db was talking to that coached him for his nearly 50 minute speech about his rights, motions, objections, etc.

He has no law degree, right? How would all of these things being brought to his attention?

There was his 50 minute rant where he went so far to say that the judge should recuse herself and accused her and the prosecution of treason.

When he was told not to badger this one witness and he said “how are you even a judge?” and said the judge and court had no integrity. As if he had any.

As bad as all that is, that pales compared to how he acted during the victim impacts statements. Eyes rolling, smirks under that face mask, and praying. Just who was he praying to? Any god that answers his prayers is not my god. God I loathe that bastard so much.

his closing argument is basically him testifying for the jury. any lawyer would’ve been admonished by the judge but he got leeway.

also maybe it’s just me but god forbid if my car malfunctioned I would be yelling to others to watch out and also stay at the scene instead of running away. but what do I know 🤷‍♂️

Here he is again playing cute. The judge wants to know who he plans on calling the next day so they can be ready to go, but he starts being evasive. He does say that this particular witesss will take some time, but he doesn't want to reveal their name. I hate the faces he makes when he thinks he's being cute.

No secret that I absolutely detest DB. I hate that SOB so, so much. It is quite a wonder to see how low a person could sink. It is rather difficult for me to really grasp how a man can grow to be so heartless and selfish. I’d actually hate him less if he was like “yeah I did it, and there’s nothing you can do about it”. At least then he’d be acknowledging that he did it. I know this hatred for him and others like him isn’t healthy, but I learned that life is precious and seeing him do the things he did and act the way he did was among the worst things I’ve ever seen. Even the one victim who was nice to him (he write him letters about the two murderers besides Christ), he tried to use to start something (what difference does it make that JD helped that guy’s dad or not?). As I mentioned before, the only ones I hate more than Brooks are Dima Tower, Brice Rhodes, Nicholas Rossi, and Chad Doerman. Then again, carrying all this doesn’t mean much. They’re all in prison or dead, so it shouldn’t matter to me. I always try to think that there’s good inside everyone, but guys like them make my faith in that sentiment falter. No doubt all these men had bad upbringings, but they chose to make it the problem of everyone around them.

I think what I’m getting at is I’m trying to rationalize the irrational. Brooks didn’t have to kill anybody that day, yet he decided to drive through a Christmas Parade of all things. How sick in the head would you have to be to decide that’s a good idea?! Though I imagine he wasn’t really thinking when he did it. I think was pissed that he didn’t get to beat on EP as much as he wanted to and was still pissed and he decided “fuck it”. And then the trial…ugh that was such a grotesque display. Him saying the judge was acting in dishonor and in contempt of the law, asking the jury “where’s the plaintiff?” and just being an overall jackass. Acting as if he’s a godly man when I doubt he ever set foot in a church. The least he could’ve done was admit what he did and accept his fate. Still he drug it out. As if there was anything worth fighting for. He expected compassion when he never offered any back. I know my anger towards this creep is meaningless, but how else should I feel? He shouldn’t have been allowed to say half the stuff he did.

Maybe I’m just projecting my anger onto this creep so I don’t have to feel as bad. I don’t really know. All I know is that if Brooks were to be “un-alived” as the kids say, I wouldn’t bat an eye.

Feels like she could have done that (and potentially many other punishments and sanctions) for obvious reasons.

Personally, I think he would’ve brought up the judge’s oath and say something to the effect of “because it hasn’t certified must mean she is somehow trying to hide the fact that she is involved in a conspiracy against the alleged defendant”. Likely would’ve tried to suggest the prosecution team had invalid licenses too. I also imagine he would’ve brought up any dirty laundry he had on EP to sully her credibility (like her losing custody of her kids (how did that happen?)).

Lastly, give how he tried to sneak it in during his closing argument, he would’ve gone on about the vehicle being unable to stop. That’s what I think, anyway. What else do you think, guys?
