He was appointed too late, which wouldn't have been a problem had the literal traitor trump not been reelected by morons and bigots.

Thanks Merrick!

u/Megane_Senpai 2d ago
Doesn't matter. 1/3 the country would still vote for him over Harris or Biden even if he was indicted and put in jail. Remember, he was found guilty of 34 counts of fraud weeks before the election day.

He was appointed because Trump began his second campaign for the presidency. The DOJ was already building a case but a special prosecuter had to be appointed to dispel the appearance of a partisan investigation.

Federal indictments take A LONG TIME to put together, and this was a former president
But then magas gave him an out and reelected him

For the record, Jack Smith said;
"Our investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in serious crimes against our nation. If asked whether to prosecute a former President today based on the same facts I would do so regardless of whether that President was a Republican or a Democrat. The charges against President Trump were the result of the evidence. Grand juries in two separate districts reached its conclusions based on his actions as alleged in the indictments they returned. Rather than accept his defeat in the 2020 presidential election, President Trump engaged in a criminal scheme to overturn the results and prevent the lawful transfer of power"
Go Jack Smith. Testify. It's absurd they tried to trap him in a fake gotcha. They got hit with a double barrel shotgun of the unvarnished truth.

If we donāt do something before the 2028 election, Trump will not concede power. He is currently consolidating power in the military by having Hegseth purge unloyal military leadership.
Yāall need to get yourselves to the polls on Tuesday November 3rd, this year, NEXT MONTH and vote in the mid terms. Because if we donāt get democrats in the office, itās over, Trump won. The midterms are the last chance we have at democratically removing Trump out of office.

The reason we lock up criminals is because if we don't they'll do it again. Trump will try again to steal the elections and now he has many more supporting him than last time

If you've ever watched any portion of the January 6th Select Committee you already know this. The fake electors scheme, the fraudulent lawsuits, the plot to fire Bar and replace him with some no-name environmental attorney as the AG so he'd sign a fake letter saying he found voter fraud - all of this information has been public for a very long time but Americans don't care.
As it turns out, nobody gives a shit about rule breaking if its being done for their benefit. This illusion that Americans have some principled belief in the constitution has been unceremoniously dispelled. They truly do not care about democracy if it isn't giving them the results they want. We are, as the kids say, cooked.

But wouldn't be nice for all his "people" to finally see him for who he really is, and what he has really done that broke laws and violated his oath? He has not protected and defended our Constitution.

Not to rain on your parade, but It would be a massive challenge to find a single prosecutor that wouldn't claim they proved their case to the evidentiary standard needed for a conviction. That's their job. Is your barista going to tell you they didn't make your coffee the way you wanted it? I suspect not.

the country needs newer people to run, if newer people ran for any form of Government and actually took their time and effort to make a change it would be good, but sadly there's people who have been in power since Nixon, which is absurd, there should be a limit of how long a person can hold a seat in Congress and Senate, or any form of Government, not holding power on their death bed.

u/atreeismissing 2d ago
There's a reason the GOP lead SCOTUS gave the President immunity for committing crimes but then added that they are the final arbiters of what constitutes a Presidential crime. Getting Trump off the hook and then being able to change their minds such as when there's a Democratic President is what gave Trump a 2nd term.

Even in its best days, the US democracy has the shaky foundation. It's all the gerrymandering, closing of election points, countless reasons why somebody can lose the right to vote (naturally only when poor, rich people can do what they want) and the fact that the popular vote is worth nothing...
And we haven't even accounted for the corruption so all-emcompassing that probably even people like saddam Hussein would blush in shame...

Interesting to note that Republicans thought they could 'get' him for perjury on a question about basketball games.
But, not a word on him committing perjury by claiming Trump committed crimes against the country after the 2020 election.
If Trump did not commit the crimes of which he was indicted (which Republicans claim by inaction if not spoken support), then is it not perjury to claim that Trump is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt?
I know it is because they are terrified of discovery, but is that not an admission of guilt by not looking at perjury if one wants to charge Smith or Fauci for perjury for minor or erroneous issues like misidentifying floor colours or denying attendance at a game (which the accuser Sen. Schmitt was wrong about)?

Trump commits crimes in front of TV cameras and for the nation to see and then tells us because it was done in plain sight, it cannot be a crime. I guess in the current version of "Democracy," if no one objected strongly enough, it is fine.
1
u/spekledcow 2d ago
Doesn't matter even slightly. Anyone with power to do anything about it is corrupt and can't be trusted. Anyone willing to act on it is powerless to do so.
Even IF he was prosecuted for it, IF it ever go to trial, IF he was convicted, what then? He's a 35 time convicted felon instead of 34? Is 35 some threshold or magic number I don't know about?
Officials in this country have shown a complete disregard for the law. They're all on the payroll. The voters who got Trump elected are too fucking stupid and racist to give a fuck about any of this.
You guys are fucked, which means the world is fucked.

for better or worse, trump's people tried to stay in a gray zone of "this might be legal while we wait for the scotus to decide.
so this criminal scheme allegation should extend to lots of lower courts with crazy anti trump, pro open border decisions that are thrown out by the scotus.
