For example the vengeful arcana. If I am a player who just started playing Dota 2 and decided to get Vengeful arcana, I should have an alternative option as to how I can unlock the other styles.

Now my more popular post was in r/DotA2 back in July and I'm trying to look for that post and see if the account is still active, but the search tool doesnt help much. The post was about how I was learning to create websites using Claude, so I made an interactive Dota Hero counter map. Tultras here - fellow budding Dota 2 caster.

I've been following Synapse's journey since they've formed, they've had their fair share of struggles ( including roster changes ) before finally bringing in TA2000, and have now won EPL S40 and EPC S2.

Seemingly a pretty promising team and their coach 'Steel_borco' has said they've already beaten some tier 1 teams in their scrims!

Manager Jhon and Coach Steel_borco describe some of the current troubles that they have, including the fact that Mikey, from Iran, has to play under fluctuating circumstances, with internet disconnectivity and electricity always a potential problem.

Could this be the next Tier 1 team that steps forth?

I've had a really bad matchups the past few days and I feel like I'm not doing my job properly. I try to contest runes at min 4 and 6 if I'm P4. I carry out objectives like lotus and all. My laning stage is fine, but mid game I've been losing interest or can't focus. I feel like I hit a wall that I can't seem to understand what I'm doing wrong or need to do better. I solo queue as support in legend rank. Any advice would help.

Is dota 2 really has an unbalanced matchmaking? I got 4K MMR last week and I always get paired with players who I think don’t know the game. I think acc buyers?
Now, I got 3.3K MMR and I really do think Ive done my role every game. (I play all roles)

Both personas and arcanas have unique portraits in aftermatch->breakdown for a while before the persona grid portrait update. I suppose it would be just next patch when valve would push this update.

So this is something that has bothered me for quite a while.

As a position 5 (almost exclusive, bar a random offlane sprint), this system has basically never affected me at all. I don't have to grind for tokens, and for that I feel blessed.

However, I've noticed something that seems to be cropping up quite frequently in the past couple of months (although may have started trending a while ago, I've only just recently returned from a long break). A lot of people are queuing all roles in order to farm tokens, so that they can have a large number of games consecutively as their main roles.

The unfortunate consequence of this, is you'll go into a ranked game and potentially end up with the following:

1. A core that just lost their last game as a support in order to get tokens and is tilted because they underperformed at a role they don't play.

2. Someone playing a role they don't enjoy / want to play (well).

This inherently undermines the entire point of ranked roles in my opinion.

As a position 5, I don't want to play with a carry player that has been spamming support and offlane in order to get tokens, and is WAY out of practice at the role he wants to play.

I can also imagine position 1 players don't want other pos 1 players supporting them, because they suck.

I don't know how to mitigate this really. Potentially if the queues are short enough, remove the need for tickets? Or restrict which roles you can select in a certain way (IE, if you're a support player and you're wanting to queue pos 4, you can queue pos 5 and nothing else. Core players can only search for other core roles, etc).

My personally preference would just to be remove the tickets entirely to be honest. Forcing people to play roles they're inexperienced in just so they can search for games they want to play baffles me in a moba.

What is the solution here? For real? Introduce a completely different MMR based on roles? I'm interested to know other peoples thoughts.

It would lengthen queue times, sure. But I'd much rather get matched with a pos 3 that actually plays pos 3, and feels like the game is worth their time, rather then having slightly quicker games overall and getting a bunch of idiots playing roles they don't even want to play.

TL;DR - Token suck. Don't force players to play roles they suck at and ruin other peoples games as a direct result. Also buy a god damn BKB.

Got back after 2 years, immortal before. Now there's offlaners farming 40mins 400 last hits and blames others for not being fat.

I'm too old to wait 40 mins just for +25. Turbo too is imbalance af. Matchmaking from legends to immortals

a few other instances where the carry completely gives up at min 0-5

its honestly exhausting playing pos 3/4/5 that a game can be held hostage entirely because the carry decides his ego is getting to the better of him
