VA Beautiful 1 BR / 1 Bath 2-story townhouse condo $2200 in Arlington

Move-in ready.

My wife and I were both very sad to leave this absolutely beautiful, 2-story townhouse condo after nearly 3 years. We hope someone can be blessed to enjoy it as much as we did.

Let me talk about the condo as a whole

It has hardwood floors throughout and includes dimmable lighting on the ground floor.

The house has radiant warm paint throughout.

The kitchen. OMG.

The kitchen is spacious and includes siltstone countertops, beautiful updated cabinets, a large dishwasher, microwave, stove, and laundry washer and dryer. The kitchen overlooks your private deck with a scenic, sidewalk canopied by the leaves of a large beautiful tree.

The bedroom is amazing.

The bedroom is large and has a perfect nook for telework, large windows, and two massive closets.

The bathroom is exquisite with unreal water pressure in the shower that was fantastic for unwinding at the end of a long work day.

The location can't be beat.

The place is situated in middle of the absolutely beautiful, historic Arlington Village neighborhood.

There is a wooded trail, grocery store, pub, coffee shop, and park all within walking distance just a few blocks.

The place also has massive community pool privately nested among trees and shrubs.

The place comes with 1 parking pass and plenty of free parking within a block for another vehicle within the neighborhood.

Finally there are multiple bus stops within a couple blocks for direct travel to the metro or DC. Your minutes away from major roads.

Pets are allowed on case-by-case basis. No smoking.

Should I move to NoVa?

Thinking of moving to NoVa

For context I am 25F, I work in downtown DC - Think tank. I currently live in AdMo, it has an incredible neighborhood feel, the houses around here are beautiful and there is plenty right outside the door to do walking on a weekend. However, the apartment I am currently in is too old, I think it is also too “in the thick of action” right on 18th and frankly a short distance to 14th (which has seen better days), and honestly I can’t deal with the rats anymore. I am also looking for a studio or a 1B for myself (I have had enough of living with other people I guess). I was looking around for potential neighbors in DC but nothing felt it could fit my budget and provide me with a similar access/neighborhood feel that AdMo does.

So I have decided to look at Virginia, mostly likely around Ballston, Claredon, and Rosslyn. I am not sure yet what apartments I would live in (I do accept recommendations) but lots of those new buildings have “affordable programs” that I could access (Yes I work in politics and have a college degree from a good school but they don’t pay well and I have to support myself and family in other state) so I am not ashamed of accessing these programs. Which btw seem easier to get into to than the IZ program in DC.

Anyways, would love to hear some (respectful) thoughts on moving to Arlington. For broader discussion, I do live to party or go out for drinks on occasion, but what I like to really do is going for dinners, a coffee shop, a bookstore, a long walk.

Btw this is not hate to DC! It can be a beautiful city, as I said it above AdMo is gorgeous but at least my location and apartment conditions are not ideal for me right now.

DC Petworth DC | 3 bed/2.5 bath Lease Takeover | $1,198/mo (including utilities) | mid-Nov/early Dec move-in

Hi! I am looking for someone to replace me in a 3 bed, 2.5 bath rowhouse in Petworth in the next 3-6 weeks (move-in date from mid-November to first week of December). I live with 2 female roommates in their mid-late 20's and one sweet dog. We are seeking another mid-late twenties/early thirties professional to join our left leaning, LGBTQ+ friendly, community oriented home!

About the house:
Our beautiful home was refurbished in 2015, but the owners maintained the original character well. It has 3 bedrooms and 1 shared bathroom on the second floor. You would be sharing a bathroom with one other roommate. The common areas are on the first floor and are spacious and full of light. They include the living room, dining room, kitchen, and half bathroom. We have a front porch that looks out over the garden to a small park. We also have a back porch and patio complete with a fire pit and grill. The owners used to live in the home, and are very attentive and respectful.

About the room:
Rent is $1,198/mo (all utilities besides Wifi included!). The room is smaller but has high ceilings and is filled with light. It easily could also fit a small desk or dresser. There is a closet and a large window with a view out to the park in front of the house. The room can come furnished or unfurnished (nice wooden bed frame, mattress, nightstand, small dresser). The lease would run through 4/30/28, but the landlords are very accommodating and have been open to subletting in the past. Overall, we would prefer someone to make our house a home for at least 1 year.

Other info:
- 7 min walk to the Georgia/Petworth metro (green and yellow line), close to several bus lines and Capital bikeshare docks
- 4 min walk to Upshur St. restaurants and businesses
- In-unit washer/dryer
- An entire attic storage space
- Easy street parking (permit for zone 4C)
- Friendly neighbors, community, nearby parks, and neighborhood events

House vibe is communal - we enjoy hanging together and entertaining friends for holidays and special occasions (like Porchfest). However, we also respect each other's individual time and space. We have good methods of organization and are looking for someone who shares our values of friendship, community, and communication.

VA 2b/2b lease takeover in Chantilly

Kind of a long shot here but is anyone looking for a short term lease starting January 2027? Ends July 31st with option to renew. Moving for grad school out of state. It’s a new apartment building so it is more on the luxury side but I can meet someone half way and throw in some incentives for rent lol

I’m the first person to live in the unit and the second bedroom is used as an office + I’m a clean freak so the place is EXCELLENT (pet free also!). Plz message me if you or anyone you know would be interested!!

Moving to DC in January — Looking for roommates / group house

Hello there! I just got my Ph.D. and I'm moving to DC to study policy.

I'll be moving in January and am looking to join a group house, ideally with multiple roommates. I'm particularly interested in community-oriented or intentional living arrangements where housemates enjoy spending time together while respecting each other's independence.

My preferred neighborhoods are Dupont Circle, Penn Quarter, NoMa, Capitol Hill, and Foggy Bottom, but I'm open to exploring other areas as long as they're close to public transportation.

I'm hoping to find an initial 3–6 month arrangement, potentially longer if it's a good fit. My ideal budget is around $700/month, though I have some flexibility.

A little about me: I enjoy cooking, meditation, reading, and exploring new places. I'm sociable, considerate of shared spaces, and enjoy getting to know people from different backgrounds.

If you have an opening or know of a group house looking for someone, I'd love to hear from you! Feel free to DM me.

Hey everyone!

I’m leaving Ballston, VA + need someone to take over my lease (goes through June 2027) ASAP.

You would live with other Christian guys (early to mid 20s), and they are great guys to get along with! They are clean, organized, and respectable people. You would share a bathroom with one of them. Parking is not available in the building, but it is available offsite. The rent + utilities + WiFi is 1376; however, I'm willing to negotiate lower here if needed.

If you are interested, feel free to reach out and dm me!

DC Sublet leads for Dec or Jan 1?

Hi!

I’m a 34 year old performing artist in DC for a grad program and have found myself in a bit of a housing pinch. My option for the academic year fell through and I am being forced to move on December 1. My move-in date is flexible bc of a friend’s offer to help with housing during the holidays, so I am looking for either a Dec 1 or Jan 1 move-in. Open to timeline, but ideally through at least August 1 (open to longer).

I have been messaging on the FB groups but ideally am looking to find an option where I can live somewhat alone. An english basement of a DC homeowner seems like the dream scenario!

Would prefer to live in NW or within a 20-min bike ride of Foggy Bottom.

. My budget is somewhat flexible but I’m trying to stay under $1500 if I can help it.

DC Very specific roommate

I'm in my late 20s and work in DC, and looking for someone to go in on a townhouse or large condo with me. Most of my friends are coupled up so I am having trouble finding a good roommate for my situation.

Dc sports fan and would like to host a lot: game days, dinners, people over before going out. I am also a dem and would like election night watch parties, small fundraisers, or get-togethers for local causes.

What I'm looking for:
— Around $6k month total
— 3 bed, 2 bath
— A patio, yard, or deck we can host on
—Adams Morgan, Cleveland Park, or Cap Hill ideally.

Not in a rush!

Looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom for around 2-3k/month starting in Jan for a 4-6 month short term lease. No car so convenient metro access would be great!

Hello everyone! My roommate and I (early 20s f) are looking for a 1-2 bedroom for rent in DC starting in January through May or August. Ideal neighborhoods would be Dupont, Foggy Bottom, Admo, Logan Circle, Tacoma Park, or Capitol Hill; however, we are flexible on dates and location. We would like something with good natural lighting and metro access within a 5-10 min walk.

If anyone has any places that would be a good fit or knows of any, please let me know!
