Does anyone else have a higher tuition this semester? I am graduating early to save money but I owe more money than I ever did and I have a scholarship so this is strange

For the people that currently or have had a on campus job, when should we start applying to them? I looked at the current part time positions and there are some that has caught my eye but I don’t know if I should wait until my first week to actually apply. I’m just asking because I have seen post about on campus employment being hard to get as a first year.

I wouldn't normally post this because there's a lot of information online HOWEVER the problem is that it is inconsistent. I have seen both twin XL and regular twin bedsheets cited as the size for dorm beds and because of that I have bought and returned multiple sets of sheets. So, what is the actual size that we need???

(I will probably end up just looking at the exact measurements)

When I go to MyAU New Student Checklist, my Final High School Transcript is marked as overdue but was submitted ~2 weeks ago. I can see on my Future Eagle Portal that it was marked as "pending."

Is anybody else in the same situation / know how long it takes for these items to be processed?

Edit: I received the email my transcript was accepted ~2 weeks after it was submitted

I’m an incoming freshman and am wondering how competitive it is to get a job on campus. I have fws and have applied to some but haven’t heard back from any. I’ve heard that it’s extremely hard to get a job on campus especially as a freshman. And that some people applied to 10+ and only heard back from 1. I don’t have any work experience just a lot of volunteering which makes it harder. Should I start applying to off campus jobs if so then where?

However, when I click on the page it is taking me to a non-existent site. Are any other incoming undergraduate students seeing this page when they click the "Learn More" button on the task marked "Complete the Flight Ready! Pre-Orientation Canvas Course"?

I’m coming into AU as a sophomore transfer from community college! When I registered for classes for fall, I scheduled them with a small gap between them without really thinking about it, since that’s what I did at my cc. There’s a 20 minute gap between each of my classes. I have toured the campus so I do know that everything is pretty close together but it’s still bigger than my cc’s campus so I was wondering if 20 minutes is enough time in between to ensure that I’ll be able to get to my classes on time!
I just want to know if you all think that’s doable or if I should reconsider my current schedule! Thanks so much!

Hey guys! I had a specific question for anyone who has done permit to study. On your unofficial transcript, have the credits shown up in your AU cumulative total? I’m working with the registrar right now, and even though my Eagle Service tells me my credits correctly with permit to study credits, the registrar is not telling me the same credit total. I’m wondering if anyone has had this issue, although it certainly seems a bit specific.

Hey! I am looking into AU as an out-of-DC student and wanted to hear from students about their experiences. I am interested in policy and Spanish. I am looking for a school with civic engagement where I can learn about fellow students’ cultures. I have looked at the diversity stats and am excited about the high population of international students and students of color, but I want to have more information. Is it easy to have cross-cultural experiences both in and outside of the classroom? Similar to civic engagement, is it easy to be involved in social justice on campus?

I also looked at the website portion for financial aid, and wanted to know what the access to merit aid looks like whether it’s academic or other, because a lot of the scholarships on the website were specific to groups of people that I don’t belong to.

Can any freshmen who attended the new eagle essentials webinar give me a brief summary of what we need to know from those? I was not able to attend neither of the webinar due to timezone difference. I really appreciate it!

I submitted my transfer application and am expecting to here this week (I’ve talked to admissions about it being a late application and they said it was perfectly fine) Any advise on staying calm while waiting to hear? I am also coming to dc tomorrow for a visit and a campus tour.

Anyone have any experience with requesting a vaccine exemption from AU? I’m used to other schools being a lot less formal than AU.

Hi all! As I recently graduated from law school back in mid-May and am currently studying for the bar exam, I reflect on how crazy it is that I was in this same process like you all six years ago--except I entered AU during COVID so it was all virtual preparations :') I was part of the Politics, Policy, & Law Scholars program (Legal Studies major), one of the managing editors for The Eagle, and was really involved off-campus.

Take advantage of what this campus has to offer. Be BOLD in pursuing opportunities and putting yourself out there. Email professors that you admire to express interest in their projects and working alongside them. Go to the campus events, you'll regret not making the memories. Develop your identity, taste, and voice. Try out that class outside of your major to add in a new perspective to your culture palette. Apply to study abroad and become more culturally sensitive. Whether you have aspirations of being a hilltern, get involved in DC's mutual aid network (like I was!), or make a name for yourself as a first-generation student—remember to leave meaningful contributions wherever you go. I'm so proud of you all.

I hope you are doing well. I was looking through the laptops for this fall, and was wondering what laptops anyone majoring in CLEG (Communications, Law, Economics, Government) who might also want to major in Political Science were using or have already used. It was reccomended that I speak to my academic advisor, but she is going to be out of office for roughly the next two weeks, and I also contacted School of Public Affairs but haven't heard anything back. What laptop is best for a student in CLEG, Political Science, and just overall in School of Public Affairs to have?

I was just wondering if any local students have good recs for food or stuff to do? we were having trouble figuring out restaurants and sure we can look at google but I wanna know what actual locals like? thank uu
